We arrived home yesterday afternoon from a trip to Oregon and LA for dog shows. The first photo was taken Sunday at about 3:00pm in Pomona, CA as we prepared to load the truck for home. The second, just under 24 hours later on I-15 north of Great Falls, MT as we headed for the Coutts border crossing.
A big shout out to the guest bloggers for keeping the place humming along so I could get some much needed (though exhausting) time away from politics. I’ll be back into the swing of things by tomorrow.
Did you need a second mortgage to buy gas in Kalifornicator and Whoregon? At least you can do that on your phone now. See any “I Did That” stickers on the pumps?

Regular, 92 octane, gas in the Russian far east, is selling at around 54 rubles per liter ($0.43/liter or about $1.72 a gallon US, 0.54/liter Canadian dollars) as of yesterday.
Wonder if we’re on the wrong side of the boycott.

From Coutts you probably came up 4 to Warner, then 36 to Taber, then right on 3. Didja honk on the way past? Lethbridge is a bit far away but it’s the thought that counts.
Yes, the 36 to Taber was especially nasty — whiteout conditions, as was the last 40 miles from Rosetown. Nasty stuff, 70km/hr in 4wd
Having just watched Fargo again for the umpteenth time … I am reminded of how the Cohen Bros. really captured the monotonous curtain of whiteout and straight line roadways of the Great Frozen North. It certainly takes TOUGH people to live in that environment.

I love America & Canada!! Where else on the planet are you free to drive this far, for any reason, or for no reason, without asking anyone’s permission? I am 100% sure these free people did not have to show any government flunky their papers between Pomona & the Canadian border. 1350 miles! 2175 km! About the same distance as, e.g.,Brussels to Moscow. Long Live Liberty!!
Sadly that liberty will be coming to an end. ICE vehicles will no longer be manufactured in the near future. Eventually, gas stations will diminish if not become extinct. ICE vehicles will be displaced by EVs. Unfortunately, there isn’t and won’t be enough raw materials to produce enough batteries to replace all the ICE vehicles nor is there or will be sufficient infrastructure to charge those batteries. Private vehicles will become exclusive to the elites and privileged based on their social credit ranking. It will be necessary to justify and apply for permission to travel outside of urban centres in order to preserve limited resources and to save Mother Gaia. Eventually no one will own a vehicle, they will rent it and they will be happy.
Glad that I won’t be around long enough to see that. I’ll be sad that our grandchildren won’t be able to enjoy the travel freedom that we have had.

You are totally confused unless you live in Florida. I am a prisoner in my own country. I can’t travel to the USA, can’t ride a plane and can’t ride a train. All because I refused to become an experimental lab rat and take the two kill shots. For me my health is most important and I will delay niceties until most of this madness ends. If you haven’t noticed, our freedoms have been put in a museum in Winnipeg, which apparantly I can’t visit.

My wife and I used to travel to the US several times a year. Sometimes, just across the border to Buffalo for the day and other times to places like Chicago and Pittsburgh for a long weekend. We both expect that those days are over.
