Lies, Damned Lies

And Statistics.

If you want to make sense of the number of COVID hospitalizations at any given time, you need to know how sick each patient actually is. Until now, that’s been almost impossible to suss out. The federal government requires hospitals to report every patient who tests positive for COVID, yet the overall tallies of COVID hospitalizations, made available on various state and federal dashboards and widely reported on by the media, do not differentiate based on severity of illness. Some patients need extensive medical intervention, such as getting intubated. Others require supplemental oxygen or administration of the steroid dexamethasone. But there are many COVID patients in the hospital with fairly mild symptoms, too, who have been admitted for further observation on account of their comorbidities, or because they reported feeling short of breath. Another portion of the patients in this tally are in the hospital for something unrelated to COVID, and discovered that they were infected only because they were tested upon admission. How many patients fall into each category has been a topic of much speculation. In August, researchers from Harvard Medical School, Tufts Medical Center, and the Veterans Affairs Healthcare System decided to find out.

Garbage. GIGO. Garbage in, garbage out.

They knew this, because they wanted the mass fear porn.
    Media to sell adverts.
    Pharma to sell goop
    Pol hacks for power.

  2. “With rather than from” Wuhan just ain’t gonna cut it.
Lets get Mr. Expert, Allan S hithead to tells us how to interpret the ‘facts’.

  3. How about Lies, Damned Lies, Statistics, and missing data to make an informed decision. They mention it, but don’t bother to document the age of each subject. I should think that would be a valid part of any study. Instead, they assume that more unvaccinated are younger and likely exposed to the virus previously. That’s a rather large assumption if you hope to glean a conclusion from this data.

How about this? I’m going to assume that most of the “vaccinated” in the 2021 part of the story who showed incidental Covid symptoms were younger too. If true, that would make this entire article/study worthless…wouldn’t it?

But, let’s not stop there. They mention that each hospital has different admission policies for their ICU’s. Well, they, also, have different admission policies for general admission. In fact, I seem to recall some medical facilities disallowing admissions of some unvaccinated. For all we know the admission policy on some of these facilities in the study were based on whom had the proper insurance coverage (and don’t tell me hospitals don’t do that…they most certainly do). Therefore, the number of unvaccinated who were never admitted but showed similar symptoms to those “vaccinated” who were admitted could have been a very high number which possibly could have showed a percentage higher than the “vaccinated.”

This is all a way of saying that this study is entirely worthless due to too many variables being discarded.

    So when I see this:

(((One of the important implications of the study, these experts say, is that the introduction of vaccines strongly correlates with a greater share of COVID hospital patients having mild or asymptomatic disease. “It’s underreported how well the vaccine makes your life better, how much less sick you are likely to be, and less sick even if hospitalized,” Snyder said. “That’s the gem in this study.”)))

I cry for our scientific community who seem to be inhabited by agenda driven idiots.

    1. Or, as we see so often see in global warming climatological studies “extrapolated” and “interpolated” data to fill in for MISSING data. Sometimes just plain “made-up” data.

To explain this, I formulated the theory that the amount of warming on the IPCC world maps is inversely proportional to the density of metrological stations and proportional to the density of built-up areas.

  4. Just over half of vaccinated admitted patients had mild or no symptoms and just under half of unvaccinated admitted patients had mild or no symptoms.

And we’re being coerced and threatened by Dr. Trudeau for what now?

  5. AHS fudges the numbers so it can make the absurd claim that 95 per cent of ICU cases are unvaccinated. This on-line pop up ad doesn’t say whether the cases are actually COVID. Just fear mongering by HSAA and the NDP.

  6. The person who dies WITH COVID is not necessarily the one who dies OF COVID. Just as the man who dies WITH prostate cancer (>90% range) vs. the man who dies OF prostate cancer (<3% range). I don't believe any of the shite they're pushing at us.

  7. “But there are many COVID patients in the hospital with fairly mild symptoms, too, who have been admitted for further observation on account of their comorbidities, or because they reported feeling short of breath.”

Hospitals will not be reporting vaxed as covid, but as other ailments.

  8. There is a reason that out Health Care Gods And Masters aren’t mentioning how many people who are hospitalized had covid before.
That would show that they are lying about natural immunity vs vaccines.

  9. Yeah …. so as not to blame Biden for anything, they, the “experts”, are breaking the count into little pieces, so its not so bad, eh?

You see, one can go on stupid for ever.

To illustrate he point, they blamed Trump for everything bad. Now that Biden pretends to be in charge, its not so bad because of this or that.

The actual results are unimportant for the illustration.
