Oddments For The Weekend

Including an incongruous hum; how to wash your hair; a notable use of surplus wood; some ‘progressive’ law enforcement; a two-bedroom flat with its own spacious underground bunker; and how to hypnotise a crab.

All this and more.

    Canada’s questionable Tamiflu stockpile
With more evidence showing Tamiflu isn’t as effective as once believed, why is Canada stockpiling it?

“they concluded that Tamiflu appears to do little more than Aspirin to reduce symptoms and might cause side-effects including vomiting and nausea.”

If you want an idea of the organization that is pushing the absolutely bizarre idea that everyone should, no, must, take the gene therapy read the article. Anyone who has spent time around government procurement knows what a joke it is because the organizations are filled with careerist know-nothings who couldn’t get a job in the real world so they go into “public service”.

Not to worry though, no doubt Public Health Agency Canada has done a 180 on how they assess and acquire drugs since then. I mean this article was from 2014 so I’m sure seven years later they’ve realized their errors and corrected things this time around, right? Probably the drug companies are much better and more honest now too, right?

My wife was pregnant and working in a long term care facility during the Avian flu scare and was put under tremendous pressure to get tamiflu. Fortunately she was able to get a letter from her doctor and didn’t get it. Bullet dodged, that time. This time?
