    1. Hey! I already live in “Northern California”!

Sorry that name’s been ‘TAKEN’ (yeah, we’ve been kidnapped like Liam Neeson’s daughter). How about Northern, Northern California? Nawhhh … THAT’S been TAKEN too. By Portland. And Seattle is Northern, Northern, Northern, California. Sorry … the best you can do is Northern, Northern, Northern, Northern … California.

      1. The “Northerns” you mention are all in America, “North” brings with it the meaning of a separate entity like North Dakota and – more appropriate in this case – North Korea, which couldn’t be more different than South Korea. That befits a place in another country from the original California we all know & love. “California,” of course, is easy shorthand for “nice place that leftists have bleeped up beyond all recognition,” which, although I am not familiar with the place, seems to fit British Columbia. Besides, because it’s a word of Spanish origin, leftists won’t know whether to celebrate it in its “latinx” glory or bemoan it as more reminders of the oppression. That horrible, horrible, oppression that is responsible for central heat, among other things.

Besides, about a lifetime ago when I was out West in America I briefly dated a girl who grew up with a view of Mt. Shasta. She said she was a native of the State of Jefferson.

    1. 新中国
Xin Zhong Guó (per Google translate).
New China in the province’s new official language. I like it. Rolls right off the tongue.

      1. They would never elevate anything so base as BC to the rank of “Middle Kingdom”, new or otherwise. Chinese place names are remarkably pedestrian and repetitive. Beijing is “north capital”. Nanjing is “south capital”. Shanghai is “above the sea”. Sichuan is “four rivers”. Shandong is either “east of the mountain(s)” or “eastern mountain(s)”. And so on and so forth. So, in the vein of Chinese control of our coastline, I’d suggest that from Beijing–if they could be bothered to change the name–would see it as something like translates to “overseas exploitation region five”.

  1. Terra Incognita
    Terra Infirma
    Terra Sativa
    Terra Sinistra

although I must say New China does it for me.

  2. Hooters
In honour of the large owl population which is largely unseen, only heard…kinda like Twitter.

    1. You win!
      I’d vote for that!

Oh, oh, I’m returning some sensitivity to humor.

  3. Land Where Logic Goes to Die, which is the impression I often have every time I go to my house in Fort St. John.

  4. Surely there must be some native name that is really hard to pronounce that they could use. Even better if it’s written with some non-standard characters.

    1. Here’s one…

      Antidisestablishmentarenism Disenfranchised.

      Try to beat that one.
Finally got to use this word.

  5. I think the Settlers should fight the 1st Immigrants for the land. Really what the Federal Government through generation of crooked appointed Liberal judges is creating is the basis for a good old fashioned civil war. This time make it a real genocide instead of a fake one. The settlers have been accused of genocide for years may as well make the lie real for them.

    1. Johan …. I scrolled down to see if Fuckheadistan was taken & u came close.
Having a condo in BC I can say it truly is the land of commie lite socialists & the woke. The government are a bunch of useless, lazy, incompetent union ( I know – redundant) paper pushers who only work at a glacial pace.
Alberta is a haven of sanity compared to the Elk Valley / Fernie area but there are far too many leftards here too.

      1. As I mentioned on SDA a few days ago, when I was growing up in Fort St. John, the region was considerably more sensible, being closer in thought to Alberta (which is only 90 minutes drive away) than Lotusland.

In the more than 40 years since I moved away, it’s become infested with Vancouverism. A lot of “refugees” from the lower mainland have moved there, taking their poisonous ideologies with them and infecting the locals with it.

Signing Treaty 8 had a major effect on the area. The fanciest buildings in the downtown area are either associated with the natives or the provincial government. (You should see what the government workers union plunked into place!) During the times that I flew to FSJ, I spoke with government bureaucrats who travelled there on business and guess for what reason? Yup, it’s for the “we wuz here first” nations.

I can’t wait to be finished with settling my father’s estate and leaving that town for good.

  6. Looks like 2/3 do not think the name needs to be changed, but they will continue hammering. If they do this, that will be the death of Canada. Of course, that is the agenda.

  7. While they are at it, why not move the capital, and also move borders as well. Let the North join Alberta!

    1. Draw a circle with a hundred mile radius centered on Vancouver (Newspeak Hongcouver). Everything outside that circle has a referendum to join Buffalo. Inside that circle is done for and will not be allowed to join and no immigration into Buffalo will be permitted.
Names: West Buffalo and Eastern China Resource district.

      1. To the typical Vancouverite, B. C. ends when one drives east along the TransCanada Highway and reaches Hope.

        1. Yes. There is BC, and there is The Land Beyond Hope.

As long as BC keeps the Whistler ski-hills the enlightened portion of the population won’t notice any difference.

          1. Yup. And it’s the crowd that frequents those ski hills that dictate policy for the rest of the province.

For example, some time this month, since I still have to travel to B. C., I have to change the tires on my truck and put on the snow grips. Why? Because some government munchkin (maybe a tattooed soyboy or purple-haired lesbian) dictated that all motor vehicles in B. C. have to use either all-season or winter tires between October 1 and April 30.

Of course, that originated from a part of the country that goes berserk if there’s even a light snowfall in Lotusland. (It happened once during my year at UBC.) When I explained the absurdity of it to my aunt in Nanaimo, she tried to fob off the “well, our snow is different” argument on me. Uh, no, and, yes, we sometimes get wet snow in Alberta.

When that snowfall took place, I simply put the winter grips back onto my car and drove as if nothing had happened. Having moved to Vancouver from Calgary, I was quite used to winter driving.

  8. Net Zero Zone A – Land of Zeroes

No people, places, or things, can be “offended” … but it “celebrates” their complete Freedom from fossil fuels -Right?

Think of it like “The Washington Football Team” … nobody, and no-thing can be “offended”

    1. I think the football team should be called the “Washington Red Tape.” Talk about a name to strike fear into your opponents.

  9. Upper n Lower MAOland.

Or one could use Greater n Lesser…but MaoLand works cause well, they’re pretty much Comunist in the GVA..and the polar opposite eleswhere
…plus the massive Chinese population lends credence to the Name.

    All in favour… ??

  10. I’ll give B.C. this much…as effed in the head some of them are the businesses there at least have vowed to defy vaccination certification for entry into their establishments. As of Aug.26 anyways.
Ontario? Well, Ontario businesses haven’t said jack shit which to me is an endorsement.
Say goodbye Ontario…ya had a good run. Full on China.
And precisely why I refused to do any heavy lifting for them with respect to the pandemic. Visiting the Chamber of Commerce website which may as well be titled “Liberal Weenies ‘R’ Us” said absolutely nothing.

    1. At last report that I saw, Ontario had over 70,000 businesses saying they won’t enforce the mandate.

    1. It was that way when I was a grad student at UBC more than 40 years ago. Anybody outside of “real” B. C. (i. e., in the region beyond Hope), was a hillbilly or redneck. Albertans were particularly despised.

  11. Everyone please welcome China’s newest province of Dodonan. In Honor of a flightless dull minded bird lacking survival instincts that was eaten to extinction by those with insatiable appetites and many mouths to feed.
