  1. Soros vs Xi: https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/look-whos-calling-xi-jinping-the-most-dangerous-enemy-of-open-societies-in-the-world/

“I consider Mr. Xi the most dangerous enemy of open societies in the world. The Chinese people as a whole are among his victims, but domestic political opponents and religious and ethnic minorities suffer from his persecution much more. I find it particularly disturbing that so many Chinese people seem to find his social-credit surveillance system not only tolerable but attractive…”

Yeah, no shit Sherlock, you helped them every step of the way by destroying Western world.

  2. My opinion is based on the inability of the Federal Reserve to deal with lies about the high real rate of inflation. There is NOTHING backing the Canadian dollar. Zero ounces of gold, a shut in resource industry, the destruction of the middle class and closing of businesses. Overpaid bored civil servants back the currency and they are just tax grabbers who produce waste. Get ready to lop off a zero off of your life savings. Just like Zimbabwe, Venezuela, Argentina, et al. Then they will do it again. HARD ASSETS, including food, a decent vehicle, self reliance and prepping necessities are your friends. Stock up on all manner of dry goods with long shelf lives. THIS IS ABOUT ENDLESS DEBT and your rapid road to serfdom. They KNOW something big is already here and will go complete totalitarian. It is their essence. Buy a few ounces of silver when you can. It has a unique dual role as industrial and monetary. It can be used for barter down the road. It SHOULD be at $250 U.S. per ounce, not below $30. The economic system is collapsing. If I could, I’d buy a wood burning stove and a piece of wooded land. The double vaxxed are still out there imagining things will go back to normal. Food and shelter beat your stocks and bonds. If the currency value is worthless, it’s not great to seek out more of it. The definition of wealth is about to change radically. Those evil globalists have overreached so far they are fouling their own nests.

    1. Your right Pat, it is all Trumps fault.

It is Trump’s fault that Afghanistan collapsed on Biden’s watch.
It is Trump’s fault Haiti got hit with a massive earthquake on Biden’s watch.
It is Trump’s fault that inflation is now at levels not seen since the 80’s on Biden’s watch.
It is Trump’s fault that Obama had a massive party that turned into a super spreader event on Biden’s watch.
It is Trump’s fault that there is now fuel shortages in the US after Biden cancelled pipelines and drilling on public lands.
It is Trump’s fault that there is now massive shortages of police officer because of mass resignations and retirements on Biden’s watch.
When Biden’s term is over and he leaves office the epitaph on the worst administration in US history will be “It is Trump’s fault!”

      1. At least Biden will replace Jimmy Carter as the worst modern president. Biden makes Carter look like Lincoln.

    2. Trump didn’t cause this insane disorderly withdrawal.
      Biden did.
Are you proud of your support for election fraud now?

Getting out of Afghanistan is smart, Biden did it stupidly.

    3. And a President who issued more Executive Orders in 6 months than his three predecessors combined was suddenly powerless.

  3. The Democrats’ horrible week, book-ended by Obama and Kabul.
When the Democrats start losing the New York Times…

    https://www.nytimes.com/2021/08/14/opinion/barack-obama-birthday.html

“As president, he didn’t try hard enough on things we needed. He was a diffident debutante with a distaste for politics. Post-presidency, he is trying too hard on things we don’t need. The culture is already swimming in Netflix deals, celebrity worship, ostentatious displays of wealth, not to mention podcasts.”

“It was as far from Flint and Scranton as you can imagine: an orgy of the 1 percent — private jets, Martha’s Vineyard, limousine liberals and Hollywood whoring — complete with a meat-free menu.”

  4. Macleans writer Scott Gilmore slyly and viciously takes down Trudeau’s selfish election ploy…
(it is a rare thing to see mainstream, Toronto-based media take on their Liberal masters)

“…as the Prime Minister made his way in his official car to Rideau Hall…Canadian diplomats, embassy employees and their families, and Canadian Forces soldiers made their way in armoured vehicles through the chaos of a collapsing regime to the Kabul airport, hoping to escape with their lives.”

“Those Canadian diplomats were in Kabul because the Prime Minister had chosen to keep them there. Those soldiers were there because the Prime Minister had sent them. And the 100 Gurkhas hired to protect the Embassy were reportedly left behind in the compound because the Prime Minister decided they were not worth evacuating, too.”

    1. Overwhelming response says that this Forum poll is an outlier, and I’m sorry to be such a pessimist, but I would have to agree.

      1. Even if accurate, O’Toole will piss it away…. probably on purpose.

Also, if I did the addition correctly, that leaves only 2% of those surveyed not committed to a major party. I call absolute bullshit on that one.

        1. Keep on whining You bitch if the conservatives are behind in the polls and you bitch if they are ahead. You are actually are a liberal and the majority of people on here are liberal whining dogs they just don’t know it

        2. These poll numbers reflect “decided” voters.
I’ve seen everything from 16% to 44% undecided voters in various polls the past few weeks.

  5. “The answer to tyranny is to have an election” Justin Trudeau!
When a duly elected opposition has the gall to oppose in this democracy he calls it tyranny!

Does anyone else see the urgency to give such an arrogant, stupid twit the boot?

    1. But the only regions of what used to be Canada that love him and are, therefore, worth catering to are Lotusland, Toronto, and the province of Quebec. That’s where the focus of the campaigns of all the major parties will be.

Fishland, of course, will vote Liberal anyway. It’s western Canada that will not only be ignored yet again, but will receive the full wrath of his childish fury once he’s confirmed as emperor. The aforementioned regions will be in complete agreement with it and yearn for Alberta and Saskatchewan to be destroyed.

    2. Not going to happen
Through ballet box stuffing, dead voting, mail in ballots Dominion and whatever else ,THEY don’t need your vote anymore.

        1. I really believe JT wants the election when he can impose and endorse covid voting restrictions. The liberal candidate in northern Sask. has spoken about the need to obey “safety guidelines.”
Mail in ballots, maybe even online voting. I don’t know if Jr. is in on the deal, but I could see his advisors hoping for a US style vote counting.

          1. There have always been mail-in ballots. I used them twice in the 1990s.
Conservatives have to not make the same mistake as Trump. They have to embrace mail-in ballots. Make it much more difficult for Liberal cheaters.

    3. I think he was responding to O’Toole calling his mandatory vax policy tyranny. It is, but will Canadians recognize that? I doubt it.

    1. Out of curiosity, I started watching it and stopped when those two poofs came on.

      1. They are comedians/actors, it is a 100% spoof, BA. Thanks for giving it a try, though.

Kyle Dunnigan is one of the few comedians not afraid to openly mock Biden and some of the left’s other sacred cows. He does a great series featuring some “facial-rendering tech” where he does hilarious (IMO), but also creepy impersonations of Joe, Hunter, AOC, even Ben Shapiro, among others.

I posted this a week or so ago, in case you missed it…

        The Fresh Prez of D.C.

        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTJz6__YePU

I think the intro theme is priceless.

  6. The only reason we need an election is to boot out the idiot who called it. If we don’t, we are idiots too.

    1. If we don’t, we are idiots too.

Correction. “If Lotusland, Fishland, Toronto, and Quebec don’t, they’re idiots too.”

I don’t foresee Alberta or Saskatchewan ever endorsing Prinz Dummkopf, do you? Then again, those are two regions that don’t matter to the Liberals, according to Senator Keith Davy (“Screw the West, we’ll take the rest.”).

  7. There was a huge fly-in at Sarnia on Saturday. Sarnia Airport is named after Chris Hadfield and he was there signing autographs. Sadly the PC brigade decreed that Canada’s most famous moustache be hidden behind a face diaper for the whole event, yet well over 90% of the attendees where barefaced in the lovely sunny weather (myself included).

It was a well organised event, with (guessing) over 100 planes arriving. They had excellent mobile washrooms – not the usual portapotties – but on the doors to the washrooms was the command to wear a face diaper when inside. Since only one person at a time could use each one, what possible reason could there be for masking up to have a pee? Needless to say I didn’t see too many people complying.

  8. Elections are a waste of time and money.
We all know what the result will be. He should just crown himself Emperor by Friday.

    1. He is the Elected Queen for 4 years. Canada is not a Democracy in anyway shape or form. First the Provinces were Colonies of England and now they are Colonies of Ottawa.
Alberta needs to become its own Republic…

      1. My father, being a diabetic, had to maintain a dietary schedule throughout the day. That included an evening snack. When he ate something, the dog(s) got something as well.

The first dachshund always knew when it was “fridge-raiding” time and, if he didn’t show up punctually, she’d sit there and bark to remind him of his duty to her.

        1. They can tell what Season it is too! My doggo didn’t get excited if he was asked whether he wanted to go to the beach in Winter.

In fact, he did love Winter. He loved to shovel snow. Yes, you shovel. Not him. He jumped and ate the snow flying in the air– as if he was playing catch.

          1. My mother told me that my canine step-brother didn’t want to go outside in the winter because his–ahem–“paint brush” (her term) might get cold. Considering that he’s a dachshund, with his shorter legs, and how much snow NE B. C. gets, I can understand why.

      2. Priceless, gave it to the cat…Ha Ha Ha…
On my daily walks I go past the Veterinary Clinic so occasionally get to meet new dogs. Last one was a huge beautiful Akbash…

      3. Nancy, that was one of the best videos I have ever seen. Had to watch multiple times and laughed harder each time I watched it. Bookmarked it for those days I need a laugh.
        Thanks for sharing!

        1. You’re most welcome! Glad you liked it!
The voice-over matched his moving mouth perfectly, eh. Everyone loves it!

    1. Ha! My canine step-brother jumps up at the door and tries to turn the knob whenever he comes to my house in B. C.

        1. There’s a big hole in the gyprock by the door to the back landing of the house, going all the way down to the 2 x 4 underneath.

I strongly suspect that my canine stepbrother tried opening that door a lot over the years. I’ve seen him do try often enough, so I think it was him.

    1. Ha! My canine step-brother made his own!

He liked taking empty 4-litre milk jugs and chewing and molding them into a shape that he likes. He sometimes used them to play “tug” with people. He’d shove the handle into one’s hand, and one was expected to hang on while he pulled, grunting with delight when he did.

But, he sometimes used one of them as a skateboard. He’d put one foot on the modified jug and pushed himself along with the other 3, howling with joy when he did that. It was a sight to behold!

        1. As I think I’ve mentioned on SDA before, the little guy had a rough life.

First, he was the runt of the litter. Nobody wanted him and I think that’s why my father chose him. As it turned out, it was a good choice as the two of them quickly took to each other.

He wasn’t even 3 years old when my mother died. One night, she’s there. The next morning, she wasn’t. He, being a dog, didn’t understand such things. After that, he and my father became inseparable.

Then, at 7, my father died and that was a miserable night for him. The dog heard my father trying to get into the house, after collapsing in the back yard, but couldn’t understand why he didn’t come through the door. It was the first time he spent the night alone in the dark.

After the police investigated what happened, he was taken to the local SPCA. He was warm and dry, but he was the only dog there, plus the place was locked up over the weekend. Those first few days were terrible for him, which might explain why he developed an ear infection.

Fortunately, someone from the local vet clinic took him in. They knew each other from before because she examined the little guy when my father brought him there for a check-up. That led to her calling me one night and offering to adopt him. (“Let me think about it–yes.”)

For over 4 years, he’s had a stable life. He has lots of room to run around on his new property. He has doggie friends to play with and she’s still at the clinic. I couldn’t have asked for a better situation for him. But he’s also happy to come and stay with me at the house when I’m there to work on settling the estate. We certainly have a good time together, but he’s just as overjoyed when he returns home.

          1. Cool story BAD R. The main thing is he is happy. And cared for well.
I would love to get an Akbash puppy right now but have to wait until my US GreenCard issues get sorted. And I can return to my mountain.
Amazing how I somehow think of the Mountain as my Mountain. Ha Ha Ha..
But what a great place for walks with an Akbash or two?

          2. I’ve made a number of video recordings of my canine step-brother’s visits to the house in the years since my father died. Once in a while, I’ll pick one and watch a bit of it. It doesn’t take long for me to start laughing at his antics.

          3. Sincere Condolences.

My canine step-brother’s still alive and well, as far as I know. It’s just that the little guy didn’t have a smooth and easy life until after my father died.

He’s excited when he comes to the house and he’s equally as excited when he leaves. He knows that at either place, he’ll be where he’s loved and cared for.

Speaking of which, in 2 months time, he’ll turn 12.

          4. Yes. I believe it was at the end of June when you
described how your ‘bro’ was doing lately. Wow, 12 years old!

I had no idea until tonight what the whole story was about him in relation to when your parents passed away individually, how old he was when they parted and what happened to him before he found his new home.

He deserves all the love, attention and care that you and his new owner can give him.

So that’s two birthdays on October 12th. I seem to have a good memory most of the time, sometimes.

P.S Sad about when parents leave us. For all of us kids!

            .
