I discovered much the same thing through my own research.
After I quite my teaching job at Armpit College, I continued working on what I investigated for my Ph. D. I added more economic details to the computer model of the renewable energy system I examined, using present-day technology and assuming that there was no government financial support.
I kept coming against the same fact: no matter how I configured the system, one needed to have very deep pockets in order to pay for it.
Sid, Not baloney, considering MMT, the four dollar yield will only have an actual value of two bits/25 cents. Of course, what is not considered is the costs associated with Solar and Turbine waste, that will yield a negative $50 bucks per ton, that in real terms will only be a net loss of $12.50 per ton. Extrapolating here, as my math is not the best, that is a net loss of only $12.75 per ton in total, meaning we’ll go broke a lot slower than the experts predict. There, fixed for you 🙂 /s

Was reading a posting on the power situation in Hawaii ,which is the one place in USA that wind and Solar have a chance of success,where the Tradewind blows like clockwork and the sun shines 6-6 each day..And all the competing energy has to be imported,where home heating and Airconditioning are not critical necessities..
And still they fail.
