The lower eastside folks who live in tents and rob tax-paying neighbours for drug $ already got it with the 90 yr. olds. The rationale is the average death rate for indigenous people is 15 yrs. lower, and the tent/homeless are too drugged up to follow rules.

      Absolutely NO ONE in BC has spoken up about fairness. I was all good with vaccinating people on distant reserves en masse, but this is a bridge too far. We have some very well-to-do indigenous communities with prime land.

      You do not even need to prove your indigenous status, however I am a little too blonde to get away with cheating. I also have ethics about queuing, so will wait my turn and pay my taxes, even though these folks do not.

  13. BA, I’m sure you’ve seen them but for those who may not have, ‘Two Way Stretch’ and I’m all right Jack’ are Peter Sellers classics from the same era. The man was a genius.

    1. I don’t think I’ve seen Two Way Stretch, but I’m All Right Jack is a Sellers classic. He made a lot of movies like that several years before he was in the Stanley Kubrick film Lolita. They were typical of British films of that era, often with smaller budgets but cleverly written, featuring excellent casts, and made by studios outside of the Hollywood system.

      Many people haven’t heard of them as they’ve been overshadowed by films such as The Pink Panther and, of course, Dr. Strangelove. Some of them show up on Turner Classic Movies from time to time. They’re certainly entertaining and worth seeing.

          My personal answer is that I ain’t saying a word to anybody. In fact I’ve uncharacteristically kept my BIG MOUTH shut all through the scamdemic. And that includes links with no accompanying commentary.

          Imagine if someone, on your advice, didn’t take the “vaccine” and got really sick and perhaps later died. You will be blamed by any survivors who knew about your advice. Now imagine if someone took the “vaccine” on your advice and got sick, you will be blamed.

          This, sadly, is not an era of personal responsibility; not an era of self blame.

          1. Yes, we wrote here about how it was ‘safer’ to never talk about politics, sex and religion, think that was a month or two ago. It still is my policy. But what to do when asked a direct question about whether one will or has taken the “jab”… I was honest, said I hated needles. The rest is none of their business. As for traveling, I’ll wait and see. There’s going to be a lot of noise if travel is restricted. Sadly, things are ugly out there now.

            That’s one reason I’m going to be driving to and from my house in B. C. once I get my truck registered in Alberta. I’m tired of being hassled about wearing a face diaper and whether it “properly” covers my nose.

        2. Interesting question. Apart from family discussions, no one has been asking me. I do not plan to get the vaccine at this point. My reason is that the vaccine is highly experimental, and has not been adequately tested. I do not think they can say others are being put in danger because they are not even claiming the vaccine prevents transmission. There are also treatments available for Covid and something like 99% survive. So why are we doing this exactly? I am not comfortable with a “treatment” for healthy people that tampers with the natural immune system. I am somewhat worried about the restrictions they may impose if you don’t get the “jab”. I feel that the response to Covid by governments has been wildly out of line with the danger to the population. Vaccinating everyone with an experimental gene treatment is just another example. It seems very reckless to me.

          1. LindaL, I have the exact same concern about the restrictions non-vaccinated people are going to face. Another form of control heading our way…probably sooner than later.

          3. I believe that the Supreme Court in Israel has just rejected discrimination against the unvaccinated. I think they are also taking the case to the International Court, where it would have broader application. Forcing people to take an experimental vaccine violates the Nuremberg Convention. The vaccine is experimental at this point, and may be for a while. Some people are going ahead with vaccinations because they expect there will be a requirement for vaccine passports. I am going to wait and see. At this point, I don’t think governments can force the issue, but corporations can, unless challenged.

          4. I got asked at the hospital on Wednesday, if I had been tested. Part of the entry interrogation. I answered “no”, with no embellishments. If they didn’t test me before surgery last November, while Chinah Flu raged upstairs, it isn’t an issue for the hoi polloi now.

    2. How would she even know if the vaccine is effective? Viruses tail off at this time of year. Also, this doctor claims that the risk reduction rates for the vaccine are deceptive– because they are “relative reduction” rather than absolute reduction. He makes an interesting point:

    The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantees the rights and
    freedoms set out in it subject only to such reasonable limits prescribed by law
    as can be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society.

    The judge ruled that covid is the justification for these “reasonable limits”. That’s now precedent across the land. Welcome to the gulag.

    1. If rights are to be suspended, I think the government should be forced to demonstrate that their restrictions are reasonable. Since there is no evidence that lockdowns reduce the number of deaths, forcing lockdowns is not reasonable. It’s the same for masks. No one is looking at the downside of masks when there is a lot of evidence that they are harmful, and there is no statistically significant evidence that they help prevent transmission. CDC says death reduction is 2%, but other sources say they have no effect. Also, my guess is that even the 2% depends on where they are being used — not universal public masking of people who are not sick.
