Hoogland opposes his child’s undergoing “gender affirmative” medical procedures, and has stated this opposition again and again, in the hope of saving his child from irreversible harm. The Canadian medical system, the legal system, and the child’s mother press ahead with social and medical transition of the child.

I’m not sure who you’re referring to, but from the limited description in the article the daughter presents with several red flags of child sexual abuse.
Kate, if what I’m about to say is illegal enough now to get the blog in hot water feel free to delete it; but extreme sexual dysmorphia is almost always a self-destructive coping mechanism for childhood sexual abuse. The odds of a child being sexually abused shoot up when the biological father is no longer in the home, and the earlier the split happens the higher the odds.
Between this and Jim Chatenay, the legal system is beyond repair in this country and nothing short of a wholesale revision is going to fix it.

As I have pointed out here before, encouraging this behavior is as reckless and unscientific as telling a body-dysmorphic anorexic dying from malnutrition that, yes indeed, they still look fat.
I don’t know the particulars of this case that well, but I can’t help but wonder how much of this is just a spiteful ex brandishing her court-appointed power to abuse their child simply to punish a former partner. That level of evil happens more often in divorces than most would prefer to admit.
My heart goes out to both the father and his victimized daughter.

Crown is holding a bag of moral excrement mixed with lit ethical cherry bombs. A date with the Supreme Court seems inevitable and this freedom of speech outrage will blow up in progressive tyrant John Horgan’s face.
There is a lot more at stake than freedom of speech. When the 14 year old says “I want sex change surgery” and the father says “no”, that should be the end of it until that child reaches the age of majority. The state should not be involved at all. And shame on the mother.
Allowing a person to destroy their natural biology is a form of child abuse. Those who advise and perpetrate it should all go to jail. Transgender is nonsense. If a person’s mind isn’t in harmony with their body, then help them to change their mind. Living in contradiction of one’s biology is a form of insanity and nobody should enable such folly, least of all in the young. When people abandon the wisdom of tradition and faith, this is what you end up with: a folly so deep that one can’t find words to describe it. People need to start realizing that we are becoming an end-stage civilization. We are a people without the moral strength born of spiritual conviction and thus we are no longer able to resist evil.

What’s the big deal here? Despite Canada raising the age of consent from 14yo to 16yo … there are still carve outs which allow a 14yo to have same-sex sex with a girl (no more than 5-years older) after “identifying” as a male.

What does it accomplish? Do short people surgically attempt to become taller if they like basketball? Does adding tits make a guy feel more like a women? Serious questions, I think that surgery doesn’t really change anything that is going on in your head, either you are happy or you are not.
