My daughter’s first car was a stick (that I bought her). I taught her how to drive a stick, and was shocked at how NONE of her friends could drive a stick. My daughter had to drive all her friends around their postgrad Europe Tour … because the Euro rental cars are mostly all manual trannys.
Then, my youngest son was invited to a wedding in France, which required a rental car … so I taught him to drive a stick (a refresher course).
I’ve taught my kids the basics of auto mechanics, and my son does most of his basic repair work … like brake pads and rotors.
