An update to last Friday’s post: as you already know, there’s more to the Story of the ‘Elderly’ Protester;
Over at the Last Refuge website, a writer who goes by the handle Sundance offers a plausible explanation on what Gugino is doing: trying to capture radio and/or cellphone data from the officers via their Bluetooth and Wi-Fi devices, a violation of both state and federal laws. This may sound farfetched, but I’ve been trained in these methods by former military special forces operators who used them while working covertly overseas, and to me, this appears to be exactly what Gugino is doing.
If it still seems implausible that some superannuated hippie would be engaged in intelligence gathering against law enforcement, have a look at Gugino’s Twitter feed (which has since been deleted), where he proudly expresses his revolutionary ideals and his animus for the police. […]
But as it happened, the force used against Gugino was measured and appropriate, and it was delivered in response to a deliberate provocation by an experienced protester. The charges against the officers are a travesty, and shame on Erie County district attorney John Flynn, who handed over a pair of scalps to the mob in the apparent hope they will choose him last when they take to hanging people from the lampposts.
exactly what Gugino is doing.
Flynn is not alone in his disgrace. Members of the media, eager to present Gugino as another victim of unjustified “police violence,” have omitted details and presented selectively edited video in pursuit of that aim. On MSNBC, for example, where one would expect no less, Alex Witt told her viewers Gugino was “violently shoved to the ground and then left unattended.”
exactly what Gugino is doing.
Honest people can debate the level of violence involved, but as for the allegation that Gugino was left unattended, this is an unvarnished lie…

It doesn’t matter to the left, they grab hold of a small kernel of truth and twist it into a whale of a story. It may eventually be found out to be a lie, but by then the next whale is already in the cycle. This old geezer was clearly up to no good, anyone with half a brain wouldn’t have put themselves in this position.
I’ve been telling people for months that the left will stop at nothing, absolutely nothing, to get rid of trump this year. Disease, riots are just the start, the list goes on and on and only get worse. Unfortunately people are going to die this year, probably from all sides and it will all be Trump’s fault according to the ones holding the bloody knife.
Yup, and the Democrats plotted and planned to oust Trump even before Trump was inaugurated as POTUS. Remember HRC said if Trump wins, the Democrats will get hung? They didn’t rig the ballots enough!
Here is an interesting video of Ted Cruz who described the crimes the Democrats committed.
New, from Friday June 5th (10:42 mins)
Ted Cruz leaves the entire Democrats in Congress speechless with this fiery speech!

Unfortunately what is needed is not being done.
Oh my god, he’s not trying to steal bloody wifi secrets . It was a combination of him being moderately pushed and having a lack of steadiness that would be normal for a man his age. I know people around here hate seeing the world in anything but two shades (as does the extreme left), but there are nuances here that don’t make the fault in this matter black and white (excuse the pun). A younger person may have not fallen, but regardless, they also should have quickly provided medical attention to the guy. On the other side of the coin, maybe he shouldn’t have been there given his apparent frailty.
He’s an admitted asshole, professional protestor and anti-police dickhead. That negates the “I’m untouchable old fart” argument.
Absurd. This discussion, dragging on, focuses on the insignificant. One does not need to wave a smartphone in front of the cops’ bellies, to gather that “intelligence”. Radio waves travel further than 10″. The push was unnecessary. Make up your mind and stop having everything both ways. You are deliberately hurting our cause. Who and what really are you, Kate?
It doesn’t matter whether he was e-sniffing, tasing, stabbing, looking for marshmallows, or trying to steal belt buckles. You stand in front of a RIOT squad, during a period of intense RIOTS, poke at the bear and expected what, precisely?? A little kiss on the cheek? The left has thrown every tactic and trick in the book at the cops trying to intimidate, hurt, or kill them. We ask the cops to put their lives on the line to protect the rule of law, you’d throw them under the bus.
I have absolutely no respect for those cops who kneel, prance around in high heels with rainbows on their cars handing out daisies at trannie festivals. However, these guys were called out to deal with violent riots and they are not daisy pushers (pun intended).
This was NOT just a normal day with 2 cops pushing over an old man because they were bored. You need to give your head a shake if you can’t get past that.
Just wait till they push you. Then all of us are going to hear you screaming “jack booted thugs”.
Exactly to your point: this was not just 2x cops, scared shitless by a 75 YO. It was a whole platoon. Oh, that scary geezer is coming for us! Cops do not have a license to kill. Because some believe they do, we have this whole mess on our hands. It is you who has to give your head a shake, as you are enabling the ANTIFA rioters through your complacency with abusive cops.

The police have developed a liking for abusing the elderly, thanks to you.
No chance of them pushing me. I don’t attend SJW riots. You are a nutcase.
One of my favorites from the Book of Proverbs in the Holy Bible says … “being kidnapped and held for ransom, never worries the poor man”. How is this relevant to your idiotic post, Cit? I will NEVER run at a police crowd control platoon … with my cellphone skimmer attempting to intercept the police private communications. I have no worry whatsoever of being pushed by the police.
In addition, although I am 10 years younger than this old Marxist apparatchik, I have outstanding balance and strength. A little push would never topple me like a critically ill AIDS patient. This sick old fart put himself in harms way. He got what he deserved.
Citro, seams you know very little about such electronic matters. Often proximity is critical. I remember when Snowden outed the NSA spying, and how the uninformed tried to minimize THAT data collection. Well Sundance, who runs conservative treehouse, and is not just a poster over there, laid out how extensive that data actually is. I just had a remapping of a car computer over the internet, and you’d be surprized as to what can effect things like that, I sure was!
OMFG — what has happened to the conservative movement when people start making excuses for bad behaviour because it hurts the messaging.
Lets face it — the optics is bad — a senior was pushed to the ground, sustained a serious injury, and when he starts bleeding, police continue to walk by with no interest to “serve & protect” — the first policeman did appear to show concern but was moved on by either his superior or just a colleague.
this is how authoritarian regimes start.
Number of authoritarian regimes started by conservatives are much, much less than started by socialists.
You stand corrected!
gerry, those who were there to take care of such things, attended immediately to the old codger, Try reading the article at PJM before posting
“A senior was pushed to the ground”….yeah, right. Kind of like how terrorists embed themselves into groups of civilians. Sorry, pal, but the “senior” crap doesn’t cut any ice here. And authoritarian regimes start with brownshirts.
A “senior” was sent to attempt this data collection … BECAUSE … a younger man would never have gotten that close to a police officer’s personal defensible space. Let’s suffice to say a younger man would not have gotten within a clubs-length distance to these police officers.
As an aside, when Russian police starts to have activism wrt concern over behaviour requested towards citizens, one should pay attention.

Now that someone’s suggested that the protester might be monitoring and/or recording radio traffic, it makes a lot of sense to me.
Whenever I use one of my hand-held transceivers, I often have to change its position or orientation in order to get a decent signal, particularly if the repeater or other station I’m trying to work aren’t in direct line of sight. That’s because those signals can be easily obstructed or absorbed because of their power and wavelengths.
From what it looked like, the protester was moving his device from one police officer to another. It looks like he was trying to receive the signals from their body cameras or, perhaps, their radios, perhaps in an attempt to gather evidence against them.
And, no, it wasn’t his civil right to do that. Those signals could be encrypted for security reasons, leading to the question as to why anyone besides the police would want to listen to them, particularly in those circumstances.
Of course what happened doesn’t look good, but don’t forget that this happened in what’s referred to as “the fog of war”. It still wouldn’t justify what the protester did if, indeed, he was monitoring radio traffic he had no business trying to record.
Then take the device away from him, inspect it, and charge him accordingly.
boots read the article, procedural training is for a reason, and stopping the line is not part of it. You are like those who say “shoot to disarm”, when training says “center body mass”
Uh….Einstein…..they have a job to do. Just another “expert” pontificating on what should have been done. As Eisenhower once said, “Farming looks mighty easy when your plow is a pencil and you’re a thousand miles from the corn field.”
Which should have been seized IMMEDIATELY! … sorta like Weiner’s laptop. But we don’t have REAL Police Dept’s. … or DA’s … anymore
Then take the device away from him, inspect it, and charge him accordingly.
That implies that he would willingly co-operate. From what it looked like to me, he saw the police coming in his direction, but he insisted in using it, directing it from one officer to another until the end.
That doesn’t seem to me to be the behaviour of an innocent civilian.
Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump
Buffalo protester shoved by Police could be an ANTIFA provocateur. 75 year old Martin Gugino was pushed away after appearing to scan police communications in order to black out the equipment.
@OANN
I watched, he fell harder than was pushed. Was aiming scanner. Could be a set up?
As a 75 year old, does he not have anything better to do with his time than to join Antifa?
Agreed … but as we know, ANTIFA “provocateur’s” are underachievers and anti-capitalists who hate America … Gugino will be investigated and the cops involved will be vindicated …
Looks to me that he was more interested in saving his phone rather than himself when he fell back.
Tough shit you stupid old coot.
When you’re part of a shield wall, your tactical first priority is HOLD THE LINE.
If someone falls apparently-injured in front of you, you HOLD THE LINE. Maybe, depending on circumstances, you check to see if that person is sufficiently injured that it’s safe to MOVE THE LINE past them (which requires coordination with others on the line), and let care-givers behind you treat them while you HOLD THE LINE.
What happens if you don’t HOLD THE LINE?
You, your fellows on the line, AND the care-givers get surrounded. And what would have been a riot becomes a massacre.
Those officers should face no discipline for HOLDING THE LINE. Perhaps the one should be reprimanded for risking the line long enough to bend over and check on the fallen guy. Or not – I don’t know the full situation and relevant policies.
But, even if the decision to form the line was wrong, it was the decision standing, and until a contrary order was issued those officers’ immediate duty was to HOLD THE LINE.
Why are you lying? How do you arrive at the conviction that blatant lies can achieve something?
There were no shields.
There was no wall.
If one was to believe in your absurd premise that if anyone has something in their hand and is not leaving when cops tell them, then they are fair game, then cops could not exist at all outside a fortress, because they would have to slaughter everyone around them “for the officer safety”.
No, you are patently wrong. A single, unarmed, 75 YO geezer is not a threat that could warrant the immediate application of deadly force.
You, conservatives, have to make up your mind. You are either for police brutality across the board, or you are against. You cannot bemoan the treatment of Jonathan Logan or Buddy Tavares, but simultaneously forgive the cops for pushing Martin Gugino.
Deadly force. That’s golden. A credibility burner.
