  1. This would have been extremely helpful when Chinese nationals were arriving in north America and spreading the virus far and wide. Hundreds of lives (so far) could have been saved just by tracking the movements of Wuhanese in north America—assuming that denying them entry really wasn’t an option.

    Again though, that would have been racist.

    Big Brother is watching you. He keeps less of a sharp eye on the Thought Police.

      I. Trudeau would have to care about Canadians
      2. Media would have to be reporting on the arrival of so many planes from China in order to spark the interest of Canadians. (only Rebel, and TNC did that).
      3. CPC would have to demand some action.

      I am still getting the response that Canadians are arriving on those planes from China. Media is doing what they are paid to do.

      1. Media always does what they are paid to do by the government and the “powers that be”. They shape information to condition the way the “muppets” think in order to build societal consensus. Few speak for “joe six pack” Canadians. There is nothing creeper than the surveillance state.

    1. It would more creepy if they did the same for the regular old flu where 80,000 died in America in 2018. Not a word was said then or now about such numbers.

  4. So then the obvious solution is to just keep everyone chained down in their homes and bubble-wrapped until the authorities deem it safe. Anyone who doesn’t get with the program will be shot.

    Or maybe, on the other hand, governments could just admit that there is little they can do and look at feasible options: selectively protecting the most vulnerable, appeals to organizations at the community level, clearing the path for medical and supply-chain enhancements.

    But I’m an extremist.

    1. I am too. Especially seeing how I believe that running our economy off a cliff like we’re doing is not the right way to combat this.

      BTW when I travel, I buy burner SIMs…bugger off with your Big Brother tracking.

        Epidemiologists, nurses and doctors aren’t losing their jobs or businesses.

      Rode along Spanish Banks in Vancouver a couple daze ago. Stunned to see that all parking lots — at least 8 or so — were closed, presumably to reduce socialization. 2 our of 4 self-checkouts at the supermarket close by are shut due to the 6′ social distancing rule (which btw started out as 3′). I swear that one machine is maybe 5′ 11″ from the one next.

      My wife’s new glasses are being mailed to her. She can’t go in for a proper fitting.

      1. I was at my neighbourhood Safeway and SuperStore earlier this afternoon and I saw that the cashiers at both locations are being sheets of plexiglass. There’s a hole cut out near the credit card terminal and it’s big enough to pass cash through. At the latter, every other checkout line was closed but the twist at that place, there was a lineup to get in, complete with a bouncer in the form of a rental security guard.

        StupidStore, however, won’t allow me to use my own nylon shopping bags for packing my groceries. Never mind that I wash them with my other laundry every week.

        At SS, the “safe” distances were marked off on the floor with tape. The chap who was in line after me was excessively cautious, staying not 2, but 4 metres behind me.

        But the most ridiculous sight I saw was in the rental office of my apartment. I paid my rent today and the reception counter was encased in a clear plastic sheet. On top of that, there was a hand sanitizer dispenser located close to the laundry card machine.

        I suspect the latter measures were courtesy of the manager, who, frankly, would make Maggie Trudeau, Pothole Barbie, and Kim! Campbell look like candidates for Mensa membership.

    Also can they use this to find those 21 million Chinese cell phones disappearing?

    1. I posted a link about the 21M cell phones and I think it got shredded by the spam filter. The article on the epoch times explains how the cell phones are used for every aspect of social control in China. Want health care, show your cell phone, board a bus, cell phone….etc.

      It is very creepy indeed, the downside of the technology.

    People think I’m silly when I tell them to disable location services on their phones unless it’s absolutely required (e.g., navigation), and only for that temporary requirement.

    1. You can disable it but I have been told (heresay) the data is still collected and available as soon as you enable. Disabling provides momentary privacy.

      1. Ping tracking. Cellphones are always trying to contact one or more nearby cellphone towers so as to be able to send or receive calls. They do this with an EMEI code which is unique for every cellphone in the world. Best way to avoid this tracking is to turn off your phone when not needed.

    –
    1.) Every single case of the Wuhan Virus entered Canada by crossing our border, either by plane, by vehicle, or by foot,,, every single case.
    2.) The few cases that have been spread person to person,,, have been spread from or by someone who was allowed to cross our borders.
    I don’t ask much from the federal government, but protecting our borders, is one of the few things I expect them to do.

I am thoroughly amazed at the number of supposedly educated and smart Canadians believe the news that is filtered and edited before being presented to them by our CBC and the rest of Canadian main stream media and yet poo-poo the reporting of independent sources such as the Rebel, OANN, and Epoch Times. The 21 million cell phones that seemingly disappeared in China is a prime example. Canadians would sooner swallow the BS issued by China and our own government than start to think and question the numbers that they issue to our press. One point four billion people in China where the pandemic started and yet our government and the Chinese are trying to tell us that America has more deaths than China. Sit down and look at the above video again and think about a country with a population 4 times the size of America and how fast the virus would spread before anyone was even slightly aware of the threat.

  13. So. I’ve been calling for cessation of ALL the hysteric “projections” of death and destruction “modeled” with wholly incomplete data. I have been stridently calling for more detailed patient detail … including all contacts. And if you listened to Dr. Birx yesterday … she said the EXACT same thing, citing that there is a massive disconnect between hysteric, yet perfectly “modeled” projections and the reality on the ground. She called for much more detailed … “granular” … data to understand the REALITY of what is actually happening on the ground. Well … I have been shouted-down, and told it was impossible to track all the patient contacts … yadda, yadda, yadda.

    So. What this creepy piece indicates … is just how EASY it is to obtain that … “granular” … detail I’ve called-for. However … I am quite queasy about this particular methodology. I keep threatening to return to a flip phone … but then I’d miss all those adorable snaps of my new grandson … the most beautiful boy ever seen by human eyes!

  14. Note that changing a SIM card or turning off Google or Apple tracking won’t actually buy you anything.
    Your phone is identified by a unique serial number (IMEI) which is used by cell phone companies. Those companies can track you by which towers pick up your phone signal.

    There is no need for any app, any location data or SIM card to track your phone.

    Don’t want to be tracked? Leave it at home.

  15. The worst decision made by Trudeau and his government was to not shut down our borders to China in a timely manner. Anyone with half a brain knew that we were in for a pandemic by early February, despite what WHO announced. Meanwhile, planes keep landing from China daily in my home town, with zero screening. Seriously, would anyone admit to having a cough or mild fever on a virus-laden touch screen?

    The second worst decision was to implore Canadians to come home to Canada. My home is in urban Vancouver and, as predicted, the crowded airport with flights from all over the world got “Canadians” home, and no real screening was done. Before the imposed order, lots of people were circulating, spreading the virus along our nice seawalls. I ignored that stupid idea, so am happily isolated in my seasonal home on an empty golf course in Rancho Mirage, C A.

    Rural Saskatchewan would be a great place to be until a vaccine is developed, but I have better weather. My dog is a bit bored, as I am not taking her to the dog parks, but we can hang out on the patios and go out for walks and interact with no one. I am happy, as a guest in the USA, to comply with the shut-down. Bonus: grocery stores and pharmacies sell booze. As predicted by me, Quebec returnees, who did not self-isolate in February, have now infected that province. YVR in Vancouver continues to be an unsafe place to go, and I hate Trudeau for telling me to come home. His wife got the virus and I will not.

    The bill from hell was defeated, but if the gutless CPC delays the leadership convention, my lifelong relationship with them will come to an end. We have to get this government out of power! Wexit should continue. I voted for Max.

    1. Ditto to everything you said, L. Per the CDC & Administrations request we are also complying with the remain in place directive, here in southern TX. By every measure it is apparent that the best the Liberals can muster is a “cut & run” Trudeau reacting to things as they occur.
      By sending 16 tonnes of medical supplies to China in Feb. to further his purchase of a seat on the UN security counsel and allowing all flights in from China (5 today into YVR), Trudeau is aggressively importing the disease. Coulda had Max.

    3. L – your life long support of the CPC – who I also supported – are anxiously portraying themselves as savours from the Liberal dictatorship. It should be never forgotten that short of the efforts of one lone MP (against party dictate) they would have had unanimous consent. It’s pretty hard to find an MP that actually isn’t a useless pile of dog excrement.
