  2. What I find most interesting is the battle of the experts. One guy who is a renowned virologist epidemiologist says “we are all going to die”. The next guy with the same credentials says “It is only a mild flu carry on with living”. Who am I going to believe? Given the track record of the “We are all going to die” crowd. …… SARS, Ebola, H1N1 etc etc etc.

      And by “where”, I mean “cite the timestamp on the video”.

      2. Sorry for any confusion. I was speaking of the two groups of ‘experts’ not any expert in particular. I am convinced that the corona virus is not much more than a regular flu. That being said I am not sure that it hasn’t mutated to be less harmful than when it first made its appearance.

        One could go way out there on the ‘conspiracy limb’ and note that the Chinese government released the virus in the hope that it would lead to the defeat of Trump. If that conspiracy were true then Trump won the battle since the virus was released too soon and seems to be losing its punch. I am not going out on the conspiracy limb but it is fun to play with ‘what ifs’.

  3. Part of his “proof” is that Northern Italy is essentially in lockdown mode. That isn’t proof. Reactions to the virus aren’t examples of the virus. Check out the Johns Hopkins tracking website (https://gisanddata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/bda7594740fd40299423467b48e9ecf6) and draw your own conclusions. This guy claims that the virus can double every four days. The entire planet would be infected by now.

    Sadly, the information age has become the disinformation age. Just as our politics, who do you choose to believe? You can listen to the “experts” who may or may not have an agenda that they’re pushing. Or you can trust your own critical thinking skills and look at the data and draw your own conclusions. I look at the data from Johns Hopkins and conclude that if this was as bad as some people are saying, the chart would be growing exponentially by now. It doesn’t appear to be doing that. There are only three days that reported more than 4,000 new cases, and two of those are from a month ago.

    2. Yesterday China reported only 24 new cases. And 22 deaths.
      The JH website is far from perfect.
      I have no idea what to believe but there is conflicting data out there as well as conflicting messages.
      Kids are fine and old people are playing dice has been about the only consistency I’ve seen since this shit hit the fan.

      Partial differential equations are hard. They’re third year pure math and it’s a washout course for a lot of pure math majors. I don’t expect virologists or epidemiologist to be as good at them as third year undergrads.

  5. COVID-19 has finally reached Chinada’s capital, CBC reports, carried by a man who had recently been to Austria.

    Civil servants are reportedly looking forward to two weeks paid holiday while “self-isolating.” The people who do all the actual work are looking forward to foreclosures and evictions even if they don’t get sick.

    If they do, well—Outaouais hospitals are generally rated the worst in the province of Quebec.

  6. Based on my next comments, many might believe I’m a conspiracy nut… but I am most definitely not. I’m just floating a theory…

    Is it a coincidence that the federal Liberals seem pretty much inactive and basically uninterested in stopping the spread of this virus across our own borders? I have now heard numerous stories of international flights arriving without passengers EVER being tested, or even questioned on where they have been. Based on the age demographics of the average die-hard Canadian Conservative and the age demographics that Coronavirus is killing… again… is this evident negligence a coincidence?

    I have little doubt Canadian Liberals would welcome the death of thousands of their most dedicated partisan foes. They are so lacking in basic morals, I bet they would have to fight to keep from smiling if it worked.

    The left are now so deranged and morally corrupted, I’ll also bet you the US Secret Service is actively watching for the Dem Party itself to try and get Trump infected.

      China creates a plague. Millions of (elderly white) north Americans catch their death. Military-age slum-dwellers are spared. Trump gets the blame. The globalists get back into power in the US. Everybody who matters wins.

    Excellent and to me, what Michael stated, I find to be fully believable…simply a nice Pile of NON Bullshit info.

    His comment re the planet should be working overtime to produce preventative vaccines is bang on. As he said, it’s not a missile or a nuclear bomb…just a bug and yet it can literally shut down the planet. Interesting also his comments on the market and those within. Single profit minded BRAIN DEAD 6 yr olds.

    Canada’s lacklustre “give a shit meter” is not surprising given what we have impersonating “leadership”. A quivering digital designing Quim as Health Minister led about by about the dumbest sack of vacuous shit I’ve ever seen in power anywhere anytime. I don’t normally wish anyone DEAD…but the PM, PMO & Cabinet could all fall and I would most likely REJOICE.

  11. Good podcast. A little long but interesting about the wildlife diseases. It’s coming to a place near you and little you can do about it. If you’re an old fat smoker or with heart or breathing issues you better hunker down somewhere minimizing contact for a while.

    Too bad Canada doesn’t have any adults in the PM’s office.
