It’s almost like the issue only matters if they can use it to attack someone else.

Shutting down the House of Commons committee can be dismissed as partisan politics. Denying the ethics commissioner full access to witnesses and documents was wrong and petulant.

But blocking the RCMP is Putinesque.

      the hearing has been postponed to October but is to take place before the election.

    Trudeau is the Pinocchio of his Grit establishment puppet masters.

    Obstruction isn’t the crime, “obstruction” is the tool used to hide the crime.

      1. I asked a local area CPC MP if the CPC won a majority government, would they initiate a full investigation into obstruction by the PM and PMO? So far,no reply. I do NOT believe Scheer of the Club Politique would conduct an investigation that might end up with fellow member Justin Trudeau in deep trouble. Most we can expect in that scenario is a carefully blindered inquiry like Gomery that might be able to lay all the blame on a low level minion, but there is no way in Hell the new PM would send the old PM to jail.

        It just isn’t done.

        Latest polls show the LPC comfortably in the lead in all Eastern Provinces and B.C., so only the prairies,representing 55 seats are a danger to a Trudeau re-election.

    Depending on how the election plays out will determine their next move.
    Liberal win = case is dropped
    Liberals losing = warrants get issued to demonstrate their earnest efforts to investigate the case …. to shine some apples for the incoming administration.

    Goes back to the issue of this election.

It seems to me that using cabinet confidentiality to hide the evidence (which could be sealed and available only to investigators and the crown) is in itself obstruction of justice under 139(3)(a). I suppose that depends on what the definition of corrupt is, but to declare a criminal conspiracy discussion confidential certainly seems corrupt to me.
