My Pre-Enquete hearing is tomorrow at the Ottawa courthouse. I have a lawyer accompanying me – he’s pro bono tomorrow, but after that, he has to be paid.

If this is a private prosecution, I don’t think one has succeeded in about 200 years. They used to be the norm.
Private prosecutions have been used recently and successfully in the Caledonian land dispute. Caledonia residents used private prosecutions against the OPP for false arrest and also against Native protesters for assault. Citizen arrest was also used on more than one occasion.
