        There is no western politician, not even M. Trudeau, who comes within a thousand miles of being the evil, brutal person that Hitler was. His regime was arguably the most vicious and remorseless that has ever inhabited the earth. Hitler saw Slavic people as being subhuman like the Jews. Had he conquered Russia he would have attempted to exterminate all of them too.

Scheer has enough evidence in this tweet for a libel suit as Mr. Corbett is hardly opinion-free (again, evidence in the tweet), or unbiased (rinse, repeat), and Mr. Corbett cannot claim parliamentary privilege nor is he making an argument as proof, just stating a claim as a liberal will.

Corbett, my fine feathered friend, your job as a pollster was to help the Libranos to come up with new ways to convince the Canadian women who thrust them into office year after year why they needed overpriced cheese, French on their cereal boxes and the scum of the Third World moving in next door.

    Polling is market research, whose objective is to convince women to spend their husbands’ money on crap they don’t need—easier and more profitable than making sure that things the household does need (food, fuel, housing) are available on demand at prices allowing the family to live decently on only the husband’s wages.

    All Andrew Scheer has done belatedly and faint-heartedly, started listening to the husbands, who have better things to do than answer surveys, and at least pretending to share their concerns. The same hardworking men who are invariably portrayed by advertisers as children or clowns, and by politicians as racists and reactionaries.

    Is he serious about addressing them? I’ll believe it when I see it. Will it get him elected? Ask Donald Trump, Viktor Orban and Jair Bolsonaro if you doubt it.

  17. It is interesting to note how embedded in the minds of the socialists/fascist, communist and other such ‘ists is the big lie.
    One wonders how they stay immune to the world around them.
    In the comments, there are many that are completely ignorant about their nebourhoods and people living in them. Their ideology makes them blind to anything that does not agree with theirs.
    They are the socialist/fascist extremists.
    Once they get hold on power, which seems not too far off at the moment, they will start the pogroms and killing fields to hold on to it.
    And they would point to those that get up every morning to make a living for their families that they know what’s good for them and that their lives would be better if they just listened to the socialist extremists.
    Though it has always been that way, the intellectualists, as opposed to intellectuals, insist that a guy working for living is just not up to thinking.
    Having the mouthpiece and the media cartel, there is no real opposition to the garbage they spew.
    As is well known, the “journalists” are the last to know about anything. They omit, misrepresent and obfuscate their “reporting” according to their ideology and the diktat of the ruling class.

    As things are now, it is up to blogs and e-media, as faulty as they are, to search and bring forward whatever is left of truth after the monumental effort of the media cartel to kill it.

    The only challenge here is that it is not as wide spread as it should be.

  18. Poll results are easily manipulated. The pollsters know this. Journalists know this. Politicians know this. Most voters know this. Yet, we’re all supposed to play the game and pretend polls mean something.

    All Canadian poll agencies act like they’re biased. Many are run by former big L Liberals or have close family in the PMO. All of them rely on governments and political parties for their livelihoods. I regard polls as paid election work for political parties.

    Like the stock world, pollsters should have to make a full disclosure of their financial ties and personal relationships with political parties. I know in the inbred politic world of Ottawa full disclosure might be a page or two long.

      Basically they’re saying, “Look at Johnny jumping off the bridge. Ignore the issue of going splat and jump like Johnny did. It’s Popular.”

      I offered the thought waaaaaaay back in relation to provinical polls, that it was possible for the party in powah, to order opinion polls but only publish the one(s) favorable to them.
      thus it is possible to manipulate the polling *process* without ever fudging with loaded questions etc in a specific poll.
      no one yet has provided a convincing argument that this is at least possible, or certainly definitively proven it has never been employed.

      1. There are many ways to bias a poll including selective reporting and loaded/leading questions that you mention. Another way is to deliberately make the poll non-random. For instance, in Saskatchewan there’s strong support for the provincial NDP in certain ridings. Just oversample from those ridings and, voila!, a favorable poll for the NDP even though the saskparty has a commanding lead in the province.

        Deliberate oversampling to skew results is common in US election polls. Skewing individual polls then skews the poll trackers.

  20. Maybe that tweet is intended to build support for Scheer. Many conservatives don’t think he is particularly effective, but the tweet has them springing to his defense. I don’t follow Corbett at all but this single tweet is enough to tell me he is off the beam. Looking at things another way, maybe his poll results are scaring him.

    2. I agree. I’m not a professional but my WAG (wild ass guess) is that the vote splitting on the left means trouble for the Liberals. Trudeau’s strength was in attracting progressive voters and targeting voters who were Harper-weary. This time he let progressive voters down with a pipeline purchase and not killing first past the post.

      Meanwhile, he can’t run against Harper this time and he completely lied about his budget promise, ” Prime Minister Justin Trudeau insists his pledge to balance the federal books in four years is “very” cast in stone.” Plus a carbon tax, plus harming Canadian unity, plus the tax attack on small business owners, plus SNC, plus India…That has to hurt him in Ontario with suburban voters.

      Vote splitting by unhappy progressives and broken promises about budgets/taxes to fiscal conscious suburban families/small business owner are the biggest problems, I think. Hence the hysterics from Liberal pollsters and the chattering class.

Unbiased CBC is giving the book lots of coverage, including a segment on the National tonight. It describes how Justin was wonderful in trade talks with the evil Trump. Justin is a genius. More segments from the book coming today on how great our little Justin is. The CBC reminds us who to vote for this election.
