Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Back in the early 1970s I used to wonder around downtown Edmonton at night. I never saw one act of violence. I never saw one obvious prostitute. I never saw one obvious homeless person. I never saw one obvious addict. There would be the odd harmless drunk. There would be the odd mildly crazy person but after a week or two they seemed to disappear.
That was back in the day when cops would pick people up for mental health assessments. Sitting aimlessly in front of stores could get you a loitering charge. If you committed a theft or an assault you were headed for jail. Prostitutes were arrested and repeaters sent to jail.
Today, I avoid downtown Edmonton day or night. The last time I was in downtown Edmonton was maybe 15 years ago at night for a wedding at the Macdonald Hotel where I has to park a few blocks away. I lived but didn’t feel very comfortable. They have the knowledge to fix the problem but they refuse.
“ They have the knowledge to fix the problem but they refuse. “
Because it’s intentional. The absolute last thing they want to do is “fix” ANYTHING. Commissars – sorry, “mayors” – across the western world (Bass, Mamdani, the puke in Chicago, Khan in London, etc etc) are inflicting decline and misery on purpose to destroy and destabilize urban zones (and then the suburbs) across the west so they can usher in communism.
“What we’ve got here is… failure to communicate. Some men you just can’t reach. So you get what we had here last week, which is the way he wants it… well, he gets it. I don’t like it any more than you men.”
Wow. I was in Edmonton when the Black Hawks were playing the Oilers in the playoffs (1980s). I ran into Denis Savard in an elevator. And Roger Neilson. I was impressed with the clean streets and “new” look of the city. At one point I went to cross a street (the streets were so long between lights), waiting patiently for some cars to go by, and they all stopped (both ways) to let me cross. Smiling. I smiled too. The good old days are gone.

Yes, Edmonton is very NDP/Liberal and a government town. I went to high school there in the late 1960’s and worked for years after university graduation. Could not wait to leave!
NDP concentration – rotten in the core.
That’s typical of capital cities….because they are full of useless government bureaucrats that live off of taxpayers. The solution is to dissolve the notion that they all have to be centered in the capital rather than distributed around the jurisdiction. First job….cut the size of the provincial government payroll, then decide how to distribute what remains around the province. I mean after all, if these public “servants” could “work from home” during the pandemic (and long afterward), there is no reason they should all be located in Edmonton.
It would be interesting to hear how Alberta separates when the cities are full of orange commies.
I am not sure why the commies would be in favour of sending all our cash to Quebec and the Maritimes. Wouldn’t they rather it be blown on endless pointless government in Alberta? I guess they are too stupid to realize it is happening.
That would be a high value sale point.
The reason the big city lefties would be opposed to independence is they enjoy the leftist rule from central Canada and wouldn’t want to be ruled locally by Conservatives who are overly concentrated in Alberta and Saskatchewan but outnumbered nationally. Many are government employees, pensioners, and or brain dead unionized automatons.
Heh. A point I’ve been making for some time.
All cities aren’t the same as Edmonton.
Time for FN to take back the city! This is nothing but white toxicity … right?
I suspect young men moving off the reserve are big contributors to the problem. They don’t send them to jail unless they are on their second murder, I mean manslaughter.
But, but, but the mayor is a cutie, with his blue blazer and matching blue glasses and besides the wards jettisoned the numbers and now have “sporty and wholesome” indigent names!
So there!!
