  1. It’s a tax on ___________. Fill in the blanks, it makes no difference – it’s a tax.

There’s only one taxpayer, not subgroups like polluters, non polluters, rich, poor, stupid, smart, realistic, gullible.

Is that appealing to Liberals’ (I mean our) worst instincts? I hope he pushes national carbon pricing to the max.

It’s a great hill for him die on. I can’t wait for his explanation how opposition to that is sexist or racist.

Marlboro Man’s performance in the House is the epitome of the 3 rules of bureaucracy:

      – when in charge, ponder,
      – when in trouble, delegate, and
      – when in doubt, mumble.

Prinz Dummkopf appears to be incapable of giving a straight answer. Similarly, the finance minister, Duke Morneau, is equally as evasive.

    2. But it’s NOT a tax on Liberal entitlements and familly fortunes; that’s significant.

  2. An Ontario family will pay carbon tax of $600 according to Justin Turdeau. He will rebate that plus a little bit more to 70% of people from Ontario.
Now the HST is 15% in Ontario. So the feds get 5% of this or an extra $30. The provincial portion is 10% or an extra $60. Turdeau will include this amount in the “rebate to Ontario”

Come tax time and you’ll get a rebate of $600 plus a little bit more, say $20. If you spend the money you;ll pay HST again. So you actually pay tax twice on the $600. Turdeau knows this. Butts explained it to him which is why he keeps evading the question. The media has yet to figure this out. Hey the media did not do math in school.

Come 2020, the newly elected Liberals will say in their budget: Oops, the Paris commitments mean we have to buy carbon credits. We cannot refund the carbon tax money as we promised in 2018 and 2019.
However, we’ve got this great deal with President Trump and the USA will sell us carbon credits at $100/ton. Oh and we also have to pay for converting the US coal fired plants to natural gas. But Trump assures us its a great deal.

    1. Well, he didn’t actually lie, he just didn’t answer the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. A lie by omission.

      1. Just so we are on the same page. A lie is:
a false statement made with deliberate intent to deceive; an intentional untruth; a falsehood.
something intended or serving to convey a false impression; imposture:
an inaccurate or false statement; a falsehood.

  3. And the average dumb-a$$ Canadian will not pay one bit of attention to this at all. The CBC will tell them otherwise and the drooling twits will simply just go along with what they are told

    1. Sadly, you are right about that and CTV and Global will do their best to help Trudeau fleece the people on a fraud.

  4. Justupid would lie or omit to St Peter at the Gates of Heaven. Morneau is a D bag. Nothing to see here sheeple, go back to work.

  5. Like their attack on who they deemed to be tax cheats last spring, their Achilles heel on this file is Morneau.
Morneau’s problem is that he wants to be seen as an expert in economics. After all he is the minister of finance so he like the PM feels the job is about looking like you know more than everyone else in the room. So when asked about the tax, he has to respond with something that sounds like a fact or a statistic, even if its just repeating something he was told by handlers. The problem is that in the HoC and in committee the other people in the room actually read the report or statistic that he is quoting and know immediately if he’s making it up or trying to hide something.
They catch him and when found out reverts to his HR executive mode of CYA. There is no telling who he will blame, but it goes rapidly down hill from there.

  6. Here in CA, Jerry Brown diverted the gas taxes from fixing roads and bridges … into his pet projects … such as the the JOKE known as a “high speed” train. Then, Jerry added a new gas tax and vehicle registration taxes to provide for the road and bridge funding he had just STOLEN!

  7. According to the Federal Government if all provinces were to fully participate in the planned carbon tax CO₂ emissions might be reduced by 90 mega tonnes by 2022. With the projected tax in 2022 at $50.00 per tonne the annual cost would be $4.5 billion. What would be the physical impact of the proposed tax on climate?

Global warming would be averted by 0.00015⁰C annually, or 1⁰C per 6700 years

This impact would be identical to the ‘climate change’ one would feel by stepping on a one-inch thick heavy carpet or by moving two houses north in a typical subdivision. The annual cost would be $445 per family.
