“When America sneezes, the rest of the world catches a cold…”
For the US, a trade war is a minor inconvenience. For socialist bankrupts like Canada, they are a catastrophe. Get ready to dump your Canadian stocks and bonds, ladies and gents…
Donald is sending a message to North Korea: see how I treat my friends!
now this could backfire on Donny. Kim may say to Donny – Gee why would I want to be friendly to you? Why would I trust you?
It’s going to be a very busy week for the President.
tuesday & wednesday in Singapore to potentially end the longest running war in recent memory.
thursday, the report on the FBI investigation, with any mention of your name in this report = “not good”.
The ball is in Trudeau’s court, I’m sure he’ll swing and miss. It’s what he does.
Correct me if I’m wrong. NAFTA is the law. Trump can’t arbitrarily end it. He can pout all he wants but until Congress decides it’s over, it ain’t over. He can put on tariffs but they can be countervailed and appealed. He can be annoying but simply countervail and appeal until he realizes the pointlessness of it. I think that Trudeau might be smart to make it personal with Trump. Trump has no friends in Congress and sending him into a snit will likely ensure NAFTA will stay in place.
Actually theres also a movement spearheaded by a Republicanto remove Trumps ability to impose tariffs without congress.
And of course Trump would have to sign it. Hilarious.
Justin is acting much like his father would when dealing with the US.
Speaking of art of the fail, they’re pretty good actors when they can get people to cheer paying more for goods through taxation, er… tariffs, while the people’s wealth flows into gov’t coffers at the same time.
What socialist actor, er, politician wouldn’t like that?
Gosh, all this anti Americanism, “standing up for Canada” on cars & cheese, steel & aluminum. Wave that flag. When US funded “charitable Foundations” were financing the blockage of western Canada produced crude to foreign markets, over the last 20 years, then directly blocked by the Trudeau .gov from Day One, where were all the anti American Canadians “standing up for Canada”? Tell me, how much pipe has been laid this week after we bought off Kinder Morgan, with money we don’t have? And how much grain has been backlogged by Canadian rail companies in the last year or so? May as well as have a tariff on grain, none of it is moving, but we sure can ship vehicles several times across that US/Canada border to get one into the show room.
I’m actually rooting for the Trump administration to stomp your “managed trade”, Bombardier subsidized, CAW backed, green energy boondoggles into oblivion. Eat it Central Canada. Mr Scheer is going to have to kma to get my vote, too. He’s tainted goods, CPC. Get someone else.
Well said! I agree 100%. Suddenly it is rah, rah, Canada, but crickets while foreign money was undermining our resource industry, as you make note and Vivian Krause has told us over and over, showing evidence.
Have you notice the green party keeps choosing Americans to lead them? Elizabeth May and now Mike Schreiner.
– yes I know they also have Canadian citizenship
– smells like a CIA operation (joke)
So will someone explain to me what Doug Ford thinks he’s doing?
“We will stand shoulder to shoulder with the Prime Minister and the people of Canada. My number one goal is to protect jobs in Ontario, starting with my unwavering support for our steel and aluminum workers.”
Premier, with respect, there is only one guaranteed way to protect those jobs—remove from office, without delay, federal officials who are happy to destroy the livelihoods of Ontario steel and aluminum workers to protect the privileges of a few French Canadian dairy farmers who think it’s their God-given right to sell tasteless cheese at outrageous prices, to spite the English and the Jews.

Globalist Talk. When he ditched Tanya Granic Allen, the gig was up on him. Another one term wonder. Trudeau (Butts) sandbagged him dissing Trump publicly. The country is going down folks, take that to the bank. Nothing Doug Ford can do or say to prevent it from happening now. Just waiting for Quebec to start whining about “profitable federalism” & pulling a NOKO hissy fit for more cash, of course. Equalization is DOA the day after NAFTA burns. When’s that, next week? I say go separate. Sell that overpriced dairy crap you make to someone who cares. The Yanks aren’t gonna buy it & then they’ll squeeze you on power rates for a better deal than what they already have, or bigger tariffs on aluminum.
Nobody’s gonna buy your sh*t Canaduh, not with S for B as PM, negotiating for “us”. Next meeting will be G5 + 2, USA & Russia. No Canada.
We could have our long standing invitation to the G-7 recinded to the Summit. We were not invited to the first one in 1975. The first summit of the world’s most industrially advanced economies was when the French President Valery Giscard D’Estang invited the heads of State of Germany, U.K., Italy, U.S.A. and Japan to Rambouillet to discuss the economic and financial crisis triggered by the oil shock of 1973-74.
The relaxed spirit of the Summit persuaded U.S President Gerald Ford to convene a second meeting in Puerto Rico in 1976 during which the group formally welcomed Canada among its members.
This weekend could have marked the formal beginning of the end for Canada with the back stabbing and hypocritical nature of this Liberal Government.
The spirit of the Economic Summit isn’t worth the $800 million that we spent, it was a colossal waste of money.
I think he is just being diplomatic. The tweet would assume Trudeau will try to deal with the aluminum, steel issue. I Don’t expect him to support Trudeau on all issues. I am pleased to see he is not coming out swinging, which would get people’s backs up. He has to present an image of being reasonable at this point.
Bongo and his euro friends ganged up on Trump. Their strategy was to attack him enmas over the tariffs.
Trump wasn’t having any of their crap. Just look at that b&w pic in an earlier thread. He told them all to shove their glowball warming gender politics where the sun don’t shine. Are those trade issues?
Chrystia: hugs all around.
But, is Trudeau’s make-up mishap real or Photoshop? Reddit has it that his mascara and liner were running at the same time his eyebrows were drooping!? It can’t possibly be real, can it?
Har! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5828037/Browbeaten-Trump-Justin-Trudeau-lose-eyebrow-conspiracy-theorists-going-wild.html
Daily mail has picked it up.
allen, a trucker??? The idiot in our family is a trucker, ‘splains it all.

heh.
You owe me a new keyboard.
Jordan Peterson had pretty much the measure of the kind of person Trudeau is: “If he had any actual character, he would not have run. He was trading only on his family name, and has no accomplishments whatsoever to justify his tenure as PM, and a man of character would have known that”.
Ben Shapiro (G_d love him) was far less kind:
“He is Owen Wilson in “Meet the Parents” … but minus the woodworking skills”…
“If the song “Imagine” took human form, and swallowed a Tide pod, you’d get Justin Trudeau”…
Priceless.
Peterson is exactly right. Trudeau is not qualified to be PM, and he knows it. Nothing but ego allowed him to go after this position. He is nothing but a fool. I believe Trump has figured this out.
Yes it was inevitable, pushed off a cliff by the arrogance and stupidity of the son of the man that dug the hole.
If Ontario loses the auto sector nobody will buy Ontario bonds and Ontario than Canada will go through what New Zealand went through.
