Britain’s gone nine days with almost no wind generation, and forecasts show the calm conditions persisting for another two weeks.
The wind drought has pushed up day-ahead power prices to the highest level for the time of year for at least a decade. Apart from a surge expected around June 14, wind levels are forecast to stay low for the next fortnight, according to The Weather Company.

Ha, ha, serves them right. I am looking for a hanky to dry my eyes.
Fortnight indeed.
Come on, Ken.
Extremely calm weather is one of the danger signs of catastrophic man-made climate change. It was predicted by climate scientists years ago. It’s similar to the shortage of snow that we were also warned about.
No, wait. That should be surplus of snow.
Anyway, it was predicted.
Global warming became climate change
Climate change means we will have (pick the one that suits you today):
a) more rain
b) less rain
c) more wind
d) less wind
e) more snow
f) less snow
g) more hurricanes
h) less hurricanes
and of course climate change is responsible for crime, computer hacking, airplane delays, traffic jams, Doug Ford getting elected, etc
It’s
You forgot hotter days, and colder days.
In short, every day’s weather is caused by global warming (climate change). Who knew?
If they think this is bad, wait until they go full
retardrenewable.“And that, kids, is why nothing ever works around here, and no one can afford anything, because your grandparents felt we had to sacrifice modernity in order to save the planet from thermageddon. Not that it made any difference in the end.”
On the farm in my youth we had a wind generator for electricity and a wind mill for pumping water for the livestock. One January ,during extremely cold weather, there was not enough wind to generate electricity or pump water. We used gasoline engines for both.
Fully understood by most here. They’re just not dependable enough moment to moment, though they can supply low intensity power over a long time period.
Those who promote wind and solar the loudest don’t seem to understand that our forefathers didn’t exit the stone age because they ran out of stones.

This has been going on for some time but our politicians and major media continually cover it up. It’s ludicrous to believe that countries like India and China with hundreds of millions of people who do not have electricity are going to do more than pay lip service to CO2 “pollution” reduction plans. Not to mention the energy requirements for building industrial and other infrastructure.
This site has some interesting info

A little hard to understand but it lets you see where new coal plants are being built. For example in Japan 11 new plants are being built, and a whole lot are in the pre-permit stage (see the table tab)
“Extreme calm days”?
I won’t be scared.
These reliable(?) cult/scientists predicted global cooling.
I’m confident it will kick in any day now……..
Hard to believe that in 2018, a country that developed the the Rolls Royce Merlin and Radar are utilizing wind to make electricity.
What do they catch mice with??
