When the oil industry was booming in Alberta the easterners blamed the petro dollar for their sinking economy in Ontario. A cheaper dollar would make the ‘industrial heartland’ more competitive. Well that is not working. Companies are leaving Ontario. The greatest transfer of wealth to subsidize the industrialization of Ontario and Quebec in the history of Canada has been a colossal failure. We won’t see that discussed on the CBC.
Canada as a country is a failure and that will become clearer as the debt bubble explodes and harsh realities will be exposed and have to be dealt with. Turdeau Jr. is not the sole reason this has been going on for decades. Our current poor excuse for a leader will simply accelerate this process.

What seems to be the problem? Do you think any of them are going to want to go to NORTH Ontario? And since that’s not the case, why not let the REST of the province enjoy the Strength of their Diversity?
I love Canada, and if I could visit long-term I would find some volunteer work at a library or hospital to contribute to Canadian society in some small way. This article, however, suggests that I could simply cross the border, claim I am being picked on by my government, and take a long holiday in the province of my choice at the expense of Canadian workers.

Sending them to Yukon or NWT is a brilliant way to address this issue. The truly desperate would stay despite hard conditions, and the line ups of new arrivals would definitely shrink. Having said that, these are small communities and you would need to have the locals agree to the invasion.
