  1. “My really, really close friends say, ‘You’re 100 percent right in your analysis, but can’t you just shut the f—k up and not talk at all,’” he said. “They tell me, ‘This is a time for selective silence.’
That’s the dishonesty of the Left in perfect focus … LIES of omission. Of course Trump is only as popular as was Obama after his/shims first year in office (on Drudge this morning) … but you’d never notice it since only 5% of all media stories are positive about Trump. Despite ALL of his 81 AMAZING accomplishments in 2017.

  2. No big surprise there. Most so-called liberals are intolerant, nasty, narrow-minded little bigots who see everything in emotional terms and take everything personally. The idea of agreeing to disagree is inconceivable for most of them.
But the other, and to my mind, greater issue this article raises is the whole business of the process being the punishment. These “investigations” formerly known as witch hunts, have a life of their own. Someone is accused of something sufficiently vague to rationalize far-reaching, in-depth fishing expeditions looking for “evidence” of “conspiracy” e.g. “colluding with the Russians” (to do what — pour vodka into the voting machines, dance hopaks outside the voting stations yelling “vote for Trumpski”? It would be the first time the Russians ever wanted anything good for a German!) Then after months of back and forth “inquiries”, “investigations”, “testimony” etc, they find that so and so’s affidavit in August offered a different spelling of his aunt’s middle name than offered in the statement from February and voila — “obstruction of justice”!!!! And that becomes the whole focus of the “investigation” from then on. The idea of making it a crime to obstruct “justice” presupposes that justice was being pursued in the first place. While witnesses should be required to be truthful to duly constituted investigators in authority, there should be a requirement that for an obstruction of justice charge to stick a crime must have been committed in the first place. As Dershowitz himself previously pointed out, that for this whole investigation to have any legs, someone will have to find the U.S. federal statute that says it’s illegal to speak to Russians.

  3. To these people politics is thicker than blood.
My two siblings are pro every typical leftist ideology and anti anything than can by called conservative by leftists and they act just like Alan described his family acting. But I don’t allow it to bother me at all. I know that it is them who chose to act this way and consider me an enemy, not me. So I’m fine with them being the enemy, which they are.

  4. The difference between a friend and a liberal friend is like a difference between a chair and an electric chair.

  5. This is different than what used to go on. Sure, liberals have always been hateful and completely intolerant of any opinion other than the borg hive mind acceptable one but this time they don’t even try to hide it. They’re basically openly saying that any election result they aren’t happy with is illegitimate. Democracy with only one party to vote for folks.
Anyway I digress. Wait until they find out the hatred is mutual.

  6. They’re basically openly saying that any election result they aren’t happy with is illegitimate.
This doesn’t just apply to elections. Any law they’re not happy with must be broken, which can be justified by calling it “civil disobedience”. Any resulting penalty will then be regarded as “oppression”.
When all else fails, they resort to statements like, “That’s what Ghandi would have done.”

  7. I’ve lost most of my small circle of friends over political discussions which I did not initiate.
It bothers me not one whit.
Because I didn’t lose ‘friends’. They weren’t ‘friends’.
I’m comfortable in my own skin and enjoy my own company.
My old man was no friend either but I did value his wisdom in these matters.
One of his fave sayings (from WW2 soldiering I presume) was: Fook ’em all, the long short and the tall.
Another: Fook you Jack, I’m fireproof.

  8. You are all correct. The Progressives literally refuse to see the truth. They would rather shut their eyes and ears to anything contrary to their beliefs. This is how you get Buchenwald and Auschwitz, this is how you get the Holodomor. And they will still refuse to believe it before, during and after the facts come out.
Captcha is Saints Only. Ironic considering the subject is Progressives.

  9. It’s never too late in life to realize the error of your old ways. Those “liberals” who are no longer your friends are completely illiberal and power-hungry.

  10. They don’t invite you to dinner any more? What is the problem, tofu withdrawal?
Seriously, people like Alan Dershowitz have always been conservatives values wise.
They just didn’t know what conservatives were really about because the Liberal bubble they lived in wouldn’t allow them to find out.
