  1. Here’s one for you Creepy!! I was quite surprised that I could guess the year it was written just by the beat. It’s got that 1975 beat that would sound great on your F-100 as you drive down the Trans-Canada, somewhere west of Medicine Hat, with the radio turned up, the wind roaring through the cab, the 390 V-8 making it’s own music through the dual walker mufflers, and a pretty redhead sitting beside you humming to the music. Enjoy!! I always enjoy your wisecracks!

  2. This is appalling. Clearly tons of people dislike Trump and his politics, but their venom does not extend to agreeing with treating the First Lady with disrespect. Meliana’s response to the issue was right on the mark. It is inappropriate to politicize positive gestures such as a book donation to a school. The school looks tacky and mean spirited. I am guessing many people will also be offended by the slur against Dr. Seuss which has been engaging children and interesting them in reading for many years. I hope people in the area express their displeasure at the high-handed arrogance and downright meanness of this librarian.
(Just as an aside, it may be worth noting that here in Canada we have the politics of children’s books perfectly aligned with political correctness (something we excel at). A couple of years ago the winner of the GG “children’s book” award was some perfectly awful book for adolescents involving sex and I think even a trans person — ugh!) It is those on the left who seem to be immersing themselves in banality and cliches. Unfortunately children are sometimes the victims of this.

  3. First saw Anne Margaret in the ’62 version of State Fair. What’a broad!
Rogers/Hammerstein knew how to write a song.

“A crisis coming to a head this weekend is a bigger threat to the eurozone than Brexit”
“While the EU watches in disbelief, a remote threat has mushroomed suddenly into an existential crisis. It is even more intractable than Brexit, and certainly more dangerous.
The volcanic events unfolding by the day in Catalonia threaten the EU project within its core. They pose a direct threat to the integrity of monetary union.
Former French premier Manuel Valls – son of a celebrated Catalan painter – warns that if this weekend’s banned vote for independence vote goes ahead and leads to Catalan secession, it will be “the end of Europe” as a meaningful mission.”
