  2. Sorry,Euan,I don’t have time to panic over Scotland disappearing into the ocean,I’m too busy panicking over the forest fires in B.C.,the hurricane in Texas,the other hurricane in the Caribbean,hopefully soon to hit Florida so climate change gods can scream “TOLJA”!!!
    A person can only be terrified for so long,then he runs out of adrenaline and hits the bottle,which is the best answer to climate change; do nothing,drink.
    I dream of the day we will have had enough,and re-form into lynch mobs to exact the justice these thieving bastards of the global warming industry richly deserve, but realistically,it’s a silly dream,and a very faint hope.
    We have segued from being objective critical thinking human beings into helpless baby starlings screaming “feed me” at our mommy/daddy big government and all their fellows in the ruling class.
    Let’s just pay our taxes like the good simple minded peasants we are and dream of our reward in heaven for being such good suckers,er citizens.

    To see the loss of the woollen mills in my friend’s town from one visit to another was sad enough. I haven’t the energy left to worry about it being destroyed by climate change.
    The loss of the woollen industry did happen, it’s real.
    This is just someone’s wet dream.

    Just to keep things in proportion, the sea level here on BC’s coast has risen somewhere in the neighbourhood of 250FT in the last 10K years…’Nobody panic! There are enough life-jackets for everyone.’

    Its hard to believe now that Scottish scientists lent their names to Watt and Kelvin.
    Our government has just annouced that we are going 100% electric cars by 2032.

  9. Just curious where you got that number from, or how they came to that conclusion. Besides continental drift and whatnot, where does the water come from to rise 250Ft?

  10. I believe I just heard Bill Nye the “Science” Guy, say that … “an explosion of wine grape growing in the English Isles was PROOF that the climate is catastrophically changing! (Paraphrased)”. No … sorry Mr. Nye, the Ignorant Guy … what you’re observing is the FREE MARKETPLACE. Wine grapes have ALWAYS been grown in the English Isles since the Roman Empire had taken up residency. Any “surge” in wine grape production is ECONOMICALLY driven … not “climatically” driven. Increased wine consumption and strong prices have driven an increase in wine grape production. Just look at the State of CA … our climate has NOT changed but every corner and every climate zone in the State is covered in grapes. I would estimate that the acreage in grape production has increased 1,000-fold in my lifetime. Economics has driven this explosion in grapes … not “climate change”. BTW … Hollywood and Silicon Valley elites absolutely LOVE building wineries … because of the TAX LOOPHOLES. Their land is taxed at a lower “agricultural” rate, they get to write-off massive amounts of income and taxes for a use that increases in value, and they get to host wine soirees on their wine estates.
    BTW … it simply CANNOT be called climate change PORN … when Bill Nye is involved. That is just too horrifying a thought.

  11. Interestingly, it doesn’t seem to occur to any of these climate alarmists that even if these dire predictions actually proved to be true, there would be nothing – nothing much at all – that Scotland could do about them.

    Global warming causes more rain AND more drought – pathetic idiots. I’m 1/8 Scottish – that must be my stupid side.
    Grapes in England? – I grow grapes in Alberta – 40 below country. They are small and are mostly seeds and skin but dammit they’re grapes.

    John; deglaciation. The change also is in part due to the rebound of the land mass, relieved of the weight of the ice mantle.If I’m not mistaken the depths would be even greater if the rebound effect hadn’t effectively cancelled out some of the rise in sea level.
    The fascinating thing is the discovery of middens at that depth, out on the continental shelf. Human habitation during the last Ice Age; a land bridge to Asia through Siberia.
