Oh, Shiny Prime Minister!

Toronto Star:

A Liberal MP accused of sexually harassing a young female staffer offered to pay her $100,000 to stay quiet about her allegations, the woman’s father says.
The father outlined his daughter’s allegations against Darshan Kang, an MP from Calgary, during an interview Monday with the Star. He spoke on condition that their names not be published.
He said over a period of four to five years, Kang gave his daughter unwelcome hugs, held and stroked her hand during car rides, and once brought her in a taxi to an Ottawa apartment, where he allegedly offered her wine and pulled at her jacket to try to get her to take it off. The next day he followed her to her hotel and tried to get into her room to talk, the woman’s father alleged.
He said that Kang subsequently offered her a series of payments, which escalated to a total of $100,000, to prevent her from sharing the allegations with her parents.

Always believe the woman.

    “PIMP my RIDE”!
Evidently the MP appears to believe that female staff are there to SERVICE him…

  2. Yeah, guilty without chance of innocence does SEEM APPEALING in this case. But, as long as there has been even one false rape accusation in all of history…
    #RollingStone
Just remember, one day you will be accused of something by someone. Shall we then apply your standard of simply guilty?

  3. What are the possibilities?

    • dude guilty, Bill Clinton wannabe
    • grifter woman looking for payday
    • hell hath no fury…
    • Liberals just want this guy out…
    • something else…
  4. For one of my college years, I had a roommate named Raj K. A fairly good looking, affable lad who had two notable physicist parents and loads of money. He spent more time chasing women (even by collegiate standards) than he did on his business degree … he had flunked Bus. Ad. 101 – twice, and I wonder if he ever graduated. He literally thought he was God’s gift to women and said so quite often. No, he was “average size”. I returned from class one afternoon to find him shagging an (older) woman … in MY bed. Trust me … I assume that was HER choice after looking at the condition of HIS side of the room. The other notable story that I tell about Raj was that he NEVER bought toilet paper for our apartment once. He made me … the poor, financially struggling, roommate … buy every roll of toilet paper for the entire school year. He would just laugh when I suggested he buy the next round of TP. Yes, he did use it … but never once paid for it. I started buying it, and hiding it for MY personal use. The things you encounter in life, eh ?
I don’t know why I thought of Raj after reading this story about Darshan Kang … oh, wait … yes I do.

  5. “Always believe the woman.”
Sometimes. I suspect some people can be quite creative for a pay day. Someone may very well enjoy the attention until they get dumped or find there are 50 others a la Cosby.

  6. Ahhh!, Kang no wang is a Sick (Sikh), and so is his victim. So she would propbably be reluctant to accuse him. Sikhs are much like muzzies in that respect, as they she wimin as slaves/sex slaves
I do like the “stars” attempt to paint the Turd in a positive light by mentioning the 2 male Libtards he kicked out of cockass over unsubstantiated sexual claims

  7. Mattress girl. Duke lacrosse. Rolling Stone Magazine. Brian Banks. Jameis Winston. Patrick Witt. But your ohnotance IS new to me…

  8. I’ll add an additional bit to your point #1, and my belief that he’s a Clintonista … (your other “options” are window dressing, made to perhaps point others to the obviously correct answer # Clintonista
Without trying to get racial on this file, political types are thought to hire within their respective groups, (ever been to a wedding reception held at “The Italian Club” … try the scampi it’s excellent) and it’s more noticeable in certain visible minority groups than others. Anyone turning on the “accepted norms” within that group can expect to be uniformly ostracised, hence her unwillingness to turn on her former employer for the past 4-5 ? years.
Any political job is an “easy job” compared to say, waitressing or being an electrician. But it’s not real work, and I can’t blame her for wanting to hold on.
Liberal / NDP times, are tough times.
Just as an aside to all this, how many lawyers has Bill Cosby had?

  9. You don’t believe those women, yet you “believe” Kate when she uses the leftist party line (to mock them).

  10. If you want to throw presumption of innocence under the bus, that is your decision. But, to paraphrase Neimöller, when they come for you don’t expect anyone else to be left to speak up.
Destoying the rule of law is one of the things they want…

  11. Precisely, what Kate was lampooning as that is the standard LIEberal line…in their hierarchy of victim classes. Hence her, “You must be new.” comment.
It is one thing to make an allegation; another to prove it.

  12. When your turn comes to be “othered” don’t expect anything from me.
Always believe the woman; you are all Hillary Clinton worshipers now. Auntie Maxine says vote democrat. Debbie Wasserman says vote Democrat. Elizabeth Warren says you didn’t build that.

  13. Stick around Kevin, Kate ain’t no pinko screaming left-o-crat…

    captcha hilarity: FLOODING LIBERTY

  14. Also, these are all Liberals. Liberal MP. Liberal staffer. Liberal donor dad of Libetal staffer. Liberal PM who likely parachuted the Liberal MP in. One of their own will be eaten here; why do we need to help them decide which one? Why do we need to virtue signal to either the winning, or losing side?
When it’s liberals vs liberals, don’t pick a side.

  15. It’s within the realm to throw this woman’s innocence under the bus?
Why toss her, with everything to lose in “her community” and not him? The Trudeau gov’t has fired others for “allegations” as it drags their “good name” through the mud, and before it made it to any jury.
Men in positions of power, shouldn’t be alone in any room, with young staffers. Or in bars or restaurants with them.
    *The Monica Lewinsky rule.

  16. Apparently Mike Pence will not have a meeting with any female without his wife present. I think that kind of pattern is going to become increasingly common, in our new Rolling Stone rape hoax, men are presumed guilty, always believe the female world.

  17. You’re correct on that statement, we shouldn’t pick a side when it’s Liberal VS Liberal …
*never get in the way of your enemy when he’s making an ass of himself? major paraphrasing here.
The MP wasn’t parachuted in though, he held roughly the same seat in the Alberta provincial legislature, and all the folks involved in this discussion live in the riding.

  18. and we hope for a vicious legal fight between the two, plastered all over the leading papers of the day, so that the next election that riding is blue.
    Not red.
    Not orange.
    Blue.

  19. Kevin I tend to agree with Kate that the point of the posting wasn’t to pick a side.
Perhaps if she put it under the heading of pray for an asteroid?
    But I digress.
Either side could be the victim here or because it involves liberals both may be equally guilty.
He could be a philandering politician and she could be a good digger. Corruption has no racial or cultural bias. The silver lining here is no matter the outcome it’s going to be a problem for PM leisure suit larry

  20. Actually that should read “gold digger”.
And while it may be central who is the one dealing in bad faith it’s also a question as how a back bench MP can come up with that much money?
Using the media bench mark for scrutiny on such matters i.e.: Duffy, I suspect someone floated that money to him…which would make this a cover up and if again monies came from someone with the initials GB?
Not that I’m suggesting anyone from the PMO has done anything…but that’s never stopped the media before now has it? Oh wait,I forgot to apply the Ford-Trudeau index. In which case expect this story to be relegated to inconsequential.

  21. Something weird about this. His actions seem pretty tepid to me . . . and happening over a period of years. So at what point did she say “Please don’t stroke my hand” or pull her hand away? Sounds to me like he was attempting to determine her level of interest. I hate to mention that he comes from another culture, but culture can make a difference. He may not have realized
that in Canadian culture most young 24 year olds are not interested in 50 year olds — wheras I think such a mismatch in ages may be more common in India where he is from. (And of course he would have heard that diversity makes us stronger.) Now I have not read the details on this story — just a skim — but I am puzzled about why these minor overtures went on for years. Also, did she accept any of his money? And why does the family go right to the newspaper? Was she attempting to blackmail him? Very curious case.

  22. I agree.
As Kevin says, ‘When it’s liberals vs liberals, don’t pick a side.’, and hopefully that riding goes Blue.

  23. As a member of the Sikh community and probably on the council of the local Sikh Temple, his backers in the Sikh community have access to multi millions of tithed dollars.
A Sikh friend once told me,”the battle over control over the Temples is a battle for control of all the money”,and the amount of money is very substantial as there are a lot of wealthy Sikhs tithing faithfully.
We’ll have to wait for the details on this one,ie was the girl also Sikh?
Gerald Butts will be working overtime to find a way out of this without pissing off the Sikh vote, and the donations of those Sikh Liberal supporters.

  24. Let me see if I have understand. You jump onto a comment section in which you’ve never posted and are thoroughly out of the loop for Kate’s (and other’s) regular style, are told in not so many words you’re missing something, double down on dialectic like a regular sperg with the typical shriek and I’m the bad guy?
I’d almost swear you were Gord using a pseudonym.

  25. When your turn comes to be “othered” don’t expect anything from me.”
If you think we haven’t already been “othered”, then you clearly haven’t been paying attention.

  26. The ‘woman’ was obviously playing this twit . 4 to 5 years with payments….. for touchy freely stuff … sounds like peostitution to me.
    They are both bad people.

  27. now that comment is STUPID. Just because you have no concept of the fact you don’t understand a particular culture, doesn’t mean you should act like an as*hole. The Sikhs are a very structured culture, with any rules in place. And seeing the girls father was a personal friend of this dick, and campaigned for him, makes it difficult for her to “out” the dick.

  28. If she’s so enmeshed in a strongly structured culture, how does she get an extra $100k and her parents know nothing?
If she’s so innocent, why would she take money and continue on for 5 years? If she’s venal, she’s found a great place to work.

  29. Thanks marc. So she’s not venal. The mystery then is, what’s she doing working with the Liberals?

  30. Her father is friends with this MP and the job looks reasonable. Presumably her parents are Liberals so all is well. Until it isn’t.

  31. “Sunlight is the best disinfectant”
… some old dead Democrat judge.
    also…
    “The Libranos” h/t always, maz2

  32. What’s she doing working for the liberals? making a good living working for a friend of her Dad’s,and for the same reason young people work in the offices of Conservatives,Block, and NDP politicians,it’s good money and a good career. No political Party has a lock on virtue, for every lefty pol with a roving eye, there’s a righty pol with the same. Let’s not kid ourselves.
Every male on the planet who is wealthy or in a position of power, will eventually act inappropriately with a pretty young woman working for him, though depending on his ability to restrain his baser instincts,it might a few years.
Smart pols like our former MP had an office staff of older women, competent, few family problems or down time to raise children, and NO sexual temptation whatsoever. Men are animals, and watching that lithe body sashay by 100 times a day can get the libido of 99% of older men a’boiling. V-P Pence’s rule of not being in a room with a woman unless accompanied by his wife is a damned good idea.
Kang’s innocent until proven guilty. We’ll see how this plays out.
In the meantime, I’m enjoying very much the thought of the machinations about to be pulled off by Gerald Butts to Save De Prime Minister from any embarrassment this may cause, yet maintain the Sikh support for the LPC in his Riding.
