  1. One of the reasons there has been a massive increase in the number of earthquakes is the large increase in seismometers and their improved sensitivity. The link with fracking is likely due in a large part to these 2 factors.
    The gravity anomaly from this failed rift system goes right across Lake Superior and crosses Canada into Greenland.
    The article mentions that airborne measurements of magnetics and gravity back in the 1950s and 1960s identified this rift system. Airborne gravity wasn’t available back then. It would have been airborne magnetics and ground gravity. For many decades gravity measurements were the most sensitive measurements made on planet Earth.

    The technology was called Airborne “MAD”…and it was a magnetic detector the extended from the rear of the Airplane (like a long dong dick).. Very nice way to detect Submarines.. etc
