Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Well, San Francisco can sleep easily tonight.
The operation was successful. No sign of breast cancer. Unfortunately, the patient died but that’s just collateral damage.
It looks to me like a training jet, the type that carries no weapons and is not used in combat.
The stupid is strong with them. Anyone who defaced this Korean War era museum piece should be flogged.
It looks to me like a training jet, the type that carries no weapons and is not used in combat.
From the article:
It won’t stay pink forever though. A special procedure — applying liquid dishwashing soap to the latex paint — keeps the pretty paint job from becoming permanent.
It reminds me of the pink submarine in the movie Operation Petticoat.
“applying liquid dishwashing soap to the latex paint” Lickmuffin
Sub pressurized gasoline for the latex paint @ it could be used on the Media…crispy criters

out my way, a local concrete & asphalt company painted
a cement mixer pink.
breast cancer all but disappeared for a 50 mile radius.

Yes, but it still should not be defaced like that. It is relic that deserves respectful preservation not this stupidity. If they had done it with a modern trainer, fine, who cares?
Can I have one for a prostate cancer, perhaps a brown one?
If you read the article to be fair here this is a museum piece and the “paint” is some kind of dish detergent based paint designed to be washed off easily. Still dumb but not AS dumb as you would think.
The jet will provide aerial protection for the USS Harvey Milk. A simple pink ribbon decal would have been sufficient. Next up, paint all wind turbines green.
I’m confused,is Pink the color of gay or breast cancer? Or gays with breast cancer? Can one color represent two factions, or should the gays accept puce as their color in favor?
I agree, there should be a whole squadron of these to protect the USS Harvey Milk.
Brilliant idea on the green windmills, will painting them qualify as a “green” job, though?
Don
Don’t worry, there’s another squadron that is outfitted in the full rainbow agenda.
Several commentors from the link pointed out it is not a Navy jet but privately owned. I guess the first clue was the limo tint on the canopy. The second, it’s CNN making the claim.
What, you didn’t think CNN suddenly developed the ability to deliver a story accurately, did you?
…30,000+ men die each year from prostate cancer, where is our fighter jet? Not even a freaking paper plane for men!
1959. Cary Grant and Tony Curtis star in “Operation Petticoat” – about a WW2 submarine commander who finds himself stuck with a decrepit (and pink) sub, a con-man executive officer and a group of army nurses.
In 1959 this was viewed as comedy. In today’s Navy … it’s apparently policy.
Our military HAS to WEAR … THE RIBBON ! How can you defend Democracy and NOT WEAR the RIBBON !?
It is a Navy F9 Cougar, used in front-line service from 1952 to 1959, with a trainer version used in the late ’60s as a forward air-controller in Viet Nam.
The plane displayed is on a museum ship.
There’s A Laser Guided Missile Pointed Right At Your Tits
I’m familiar with this missile of which you speak but it’s not laser guided. It’s heat seeking.
A tree trimming business near me painted their truck pink near me.
Maybe some Tits (or bubahs) are hot enouth to attract the special missile. Because the OCG is a survivor, I’m not concerned at all.
…..did I mention it was near me?
Yes, you did. But I was unclear otherwise. Was it near you when they painted it or was it near you when you made your comment or was it near the tree trimming business when it was painted and the tree trimming business is near you? I’m confused. But that’s normal for me anyway.
YAHOO.
Let us see now.
In the army of the Central Europe socialist country run by communists, we had what you may call a shepherd so to say.
It was an older officer before retirement. He would be the political guy. Making sure the troops are up with the latest instructions from the ministry of “TRUTH” and propaganda.
Seems the US armada is going the same path.
They are succumbing to the international socialism.
A Pink Cougar. If it had straight wings it would be a Pink Panther.
“The plane displayed is on a museum ship.”
Yes. Both the pink Cougar and the F-14 Tomcat have the same nose number 201.
Internet Straw Poll – Who won the 3rd Presidential Debate?
http://commoncts.blogspot.com/2016/10/internet-straw-poll-who-won-3rd.html
A Pink Cougar? Heavens to Murgatroyd, e-even!! Heh heh.
…Exit Stage Right.
Trump lost it, according to the NBC and CNN feeds. The only thing is that the debate hasn’t even started yet.
Media BS? Nah.
Men don’t count in our society today. And that is why so many are in their mommies basement.
As far as the painted training aircraft is concerned, they must have forgot to put a too-too on it.
Heh, apparently, they washed off the pink
I classify this as yet another meaningless gesture that solves nothing, but costs taxpayers money that could have been spent … well, actually, doing something.
But I suppose nowadays, meaningless gestures RULE!!!!!
Is it just me or is anyone else sick of all of these bullshit “awareness” campaigns?
There was a joke, back in the 60’s, where a cop stops a drunk on the sidewalk for wildly waving his arms up in the air and yelling ”Shoo, Shoo, Shoo”.
The older Irish officer asks, ”What might ya be doin there sir??.”
”I’m chasing pink elephants off the sidewalk.”
The cop says, ”I’ve been on this beat for 30 years , and I’ve yet to see a pink elephant.!!”
”My God, it’s working” says the drunk.
Sick of an endless stream of meaningless bullshit?
Anyone who hasn’t developed a good set of bullshit filters is in for a lot of aggravation.
It’s easy to ignore meaningless bullshit, and just say ‘no thanks’.
Does someone have a sense of humour? Using a Cougar to raise awareness of breast cancer!
I was wondering if someone would see that this aircraft hasn’t been in service for at least 50 years…
Panthers and Cougars were Korean War era….I always like the lines …
I doubt it even has an engine…
But to CNN, this is a top of the line “Navy fighter” T
Typical LI media type that does not understand the what “research” means..
I hear turdo la doo ith ordering a thquadron of them ath replathmenth for the snowbirdth.
They’ll be making their debut in flyover nexth thummer in Toronto to thelebrate Canadath thoroughly modern military. Becauth itth tentythixthteen.
He wanth to have a “Name the Aerobaticth Team” contetht, too.
On one of the Hanson tours I met an ex-F9F driver – “Deke”. An impressive gentleman; he was cheerful and as active as he could be despite being crippled up with arthritis and confined to a wheelchair. The USN can be proud of him. His only regret seemed to be that he had not flown the larger aircraft that followed the F9F.
Like that is not going to make for an easy target!
I love ANY Cary Grant movie, but there is no way I would skipper a freaking
pink submarine!
