When the Liberal backroom boys start to admit that the rest of the world couldn’t care less about Canada, you just know that your chances of “sticking it” to Trump are somewhere between slim and zero.

I wouldn’t try to “stick it” to Trump.
First, a lightweight shouldn’t box a heavyweight. Second, Trump’s already sticking it to the US. His economic policies are so misguided that he’s dolng serious damage. Tariffs are ultimately self defeating.
No, Canada should just expand its trade away from the US as best it can, and otherwise weather the storm. No retaliatory tariffs of any kind, as that hurts us as well. Trump won’t be president forever, and his economic policies might be even more short lived.
Canada has a consistent 60 billion annual trade deficit with China, so there’s that.
But geography is destiny.
Carney has often followed Juthtin the Idiot’s playbook by saying one thing to Trump’s face and another to the world.
This is called sucker-punching the heavyweight.

Trump isn’t damaging the US economy at all. Canada can’t expand its trade away….aligning with the EU is as dumb as it gets. The EU GDP has a percentage of the world GDP has been cut in half over the last 20 years. Aligning with China is unbelievably stupid. The smartest thing Canada could do is align itself with the U.S. economic direction as tightly as possible because they are on the right track.
The only economic indicator that’s significantly improved under Trump is the stock market. The rest — inflation, unemployment, GDP growth, government debt, business investment — is either flat or worse than when Trump took office. If it weren’t for the AI boom, things would be outright bad.
So what was the point of starting a trade war? When does the winning start?
And that is false. The U.S. GDP growth is vastly superior to that of Canada. Inflation is fine, unemployment is fine and business investment in the U.S. is increasing. You are as clueless about the economy as you are about COVID “vaccines”. Say, are you going to watch Fauci get roasted tomorrow? The little prick needs the Mussolini treatment.
Shrug. The Canadian electorate has repeatedly demonstrated that it prefers strutting over substance. And our country’s leaders have painted themselves into so many political corners that they have no choice but to continue to oblige.

Most Canadians are exceptionally ignorant, but for those in the know, the “Laurentian Elites” are the Canadian chapter of the “Global Elites”.
Canada has long had a highly controlled economy, with a tiny number of banks, supermarkets, breweries, restaurant chains, drug stores, lumber companies, mining companies, and a whole host of other businesses in virtually ever sector of the economy.
For this reason, Canadians are pretty much bred to be employees of large companies or the government. Put another way, most Canadians are followers, not leaders. Those with an entrepreneurial bent often leave the country, most frequently to America.
So, the Laurentian Elites, knowing that most Canadians are sheep rather than shepherds, used this to full effect to control people during the Covid years. That was highly effective (until the freedom truckers destroyed their narrative), so they used exactly the same playbook to win another election in 2025; different incompetent jackass than the one over the past 9 years, but the new boss was the same as the old boss.
Donald Trump inadvertently gave them another tool to use in their Propaganda Toolkit, that being the lifelong passive aggressive hatred of many Canadians towards Americans. As I’ve frequently said, the April 28, 2025 federal Canadian election was proof positive that the Canuck Sheeple hate Donald Trump specifically and Americans generally MUCH MORE than they’ve ever loved Canada.
Every political operative throughout time has known that if you have nothing of substance to offer, then the most effective thing to do is get people to hate your opponent. With the “Elbows Up” crowd, little to no effort was required to gin up the age old jealousy towards Americans.
Unfortunately, the Canadian politicians this time consumed their own propaganda, spoke out too arrogantly, and did nothing of substance to find agreement with the American government after last year’s election. Now the Canadian people are about to pay a very heavy price for it and will stay convinced that they are the noble & smart ones.

Reminds me of a trip we made to Hungary a few years ago. We were touring a pleasant little church and shrine in the countryside. There were some stalls set up outside selling souvenirs, etc. One of the vendors asked me if I was from Germany. No, I replied, Canada. This drew a complete blank. Not only did she not care about Canada, she had never heard of Canada. Our impact on the world is probably less than some would have you believe.
