You missed the new Dem talking head point from one of her admirals. On Fox News last night he argued she played a key role in preventing imminent war with Iran. If the US didn’t lift sanctions, ignore terrorism support, or stop trying to deter her nuclear weapons ambitions, there would have been “kinetic action” within a month I think he said.
Maybe the admiral was too close to the action. You can hint or threaten “kinetic action” if they’re not nice, without a shot fired.
But you have to be credible that you will follow up. If not, as now, deterrence fails “kinetically.” I was sure they still taught that in staff colleges.
