why there will never be a palestinian peace deal…
“Meanwhile, there are pragmatic worries: Many Palestinians
who might be fine with the deal themselves don’t want to get
    assassinated
    by people who disagree.”

no comment yet from “queers against israeli apartheid.”

  2. Should I assume that if this resolution passes and becomes party policy that May will stick to her principles and step down as leader? Yeah right.

  3. There is no green party ,there is only the elizabeth may hobby horse and retirement fund ( and dental plan)

  4. I still don’t understand why we need both the Green Party and the NDP in this country. I can only assume it is to further sub-categorize the nutjobs.
This reminded me immediately of an NDP policy proposal put forth years ago. Does anyone here remember when the scumbags proposed that Canadian soldiers in Afghanistan should be considered “terrorists”? Really, what kind of low-life stays to support a party after that?
I have NO time for any *sshole that would support either of these delusional cults.

  5. Who cares what policies May and the Green Party adopt anyway? They are the epitome of irrelevance. In fact, they are only one tiny step ahead of the Marijuana Party and have as much chance of ever forming government.

  6. I agree, but it is tough when your daughter and son-in-law are supporters of the NDP. We no longer talk politics.
My father-in-law’s and his brother’s lives were saved in 1917 by a radish. Radish=Red on the outside and white (anti-Bolshevik) on the inside. This fellow had worked in their flour mill at one point and late one evening after the Bolsheviks had taken over their flour mill but forced them to operate for them he came and told them they were to be arrested early the next morning. They had no horses or wagons left as they had been confiscated, so this radish brought them two wagons and teams of horses. The brothers and their families loaded clothes and food supplies and drove away in the dark.

  7. We all thought the NDP were irrelevant in Alberta …. until they weren’t.
Always be vigilant and never underestimate.

  8. Many enviroemental leaders(Robert Knnedy Jr,Sheldon Whitehouse,Bill Nye Etc) are total watermellons they want all global warming skeptics jailed for daring to question their ideologies

  9. If Jr and his NDP accomplices get their way, and some new half-baked prop representation ballot gets approved, then May becomes much more important. In the eternal shifting, coalescing power sharing committee that Parliament will become her vote and influence will be sought out.
That is why losers like her who could never wield any power under the present system, yearn for a more “participatory” democracy. The federal NDP with their Leap to the left have given up any hope of forming a majority government, look for them to back Liberals on some “improved” “progressive” ballot. Canadian voters must oppose all these schemes or else see traditional Parliamentary democracy disappear.

  10. My Gawd, is that creature *UGLY*!
She (I use the pronoun quite loosely) is a living example why women (sorry Kate) should never have positions of power.
Evil and ugly within and without.

  11. Ummm, no. At least a few of the best leaders have been women. Remember Margaret Thatcher? How about Golda Meir? do you really think Queen Elizabeth I was a softie on defending the nation? History seems to show she was tough as nails. How about Queen Anne fighting a global war for more than a decade against perhaps the greatest military power Europe had ever seen to that point? Perhaps you might remind yourself of the fact that these same leaders were all pretty conservative in nature or at least more than a little bit tough when it came to things like security or national defense.
“Now’s not the time to go all wobbly, George.”
I’ll take one Margaret Thatcher or Golda over hundreds of male Rinos any time. The fact that one moron was drunk off her tits in no way invalidates the many women who have been in power, now or in the past, and have done a fine job.

  12. of course Lizzard May is against the BDS, she is Jewish by heritage, and does get Jewish financial support for the greene party

  13. We are the only country in the world that allows a Yank to run for gubermint. Are we fu@@ed? YUP.

  14. Exactly. And then was also Queen Isabella who kicked out the Muslims out of Spain and Tsarina Catherine II who was probably the best Russian monarch after Peter to attempt bringing the people out of darkness.

  15. Ken, you and I could spend hours naming off a truckload of strong women who led their countries successfully. Your reference to Catherine was spot-on. Peter the Great was fortunate that his attempt to modernize Russia into the 18th Century was consolidated by two strong women, Empress Elizabeth as Regent and right after her, Catherine. Until Alexander I, the Tsars were largely nonentities.
In Napoleon’s time, by far the most determined of his political opponents was Prussian Queen Louise. She was the heart and soul of Prussia’s resistance, not her feckless husband. Reviving a nation to eventual victory after it’s been beaten is a far tougher task than just winning.
Your reference to Isabella is also absolutely correct. Ferdinand was the great soldier; Isabella was the great statesman of the pair.

  16. Wrong again, but I give you credit for always trying.
The Anglican Journal website will give you the full story of Elizabeth May’s faith journey and no, she is not Jewish. Why did you even bother to bring that into the equation?
She’s a self-professed, or self-confessed, Christian of the Anglican persuasion. Not easy acknowledging you’re a Christian in Canadian politics (ask Stephen Harper) so I give her a great deal of credit for being open about her faith outside the political arena.
“At 13, May decided she wanted to become Episcopalian. But that was only after she dropped the idea of becoming Jewish. “A friend of mine was Jewish and was going to have her Bat Mitzvah, and her father was a rabbi who was a very close friend of my mother through the peace movement. I thought I should just become Jewish,” recalls May. She made an appointment with the rabbi, who patiently quizzed her on her religious beliefs. He came to the conclusion that while she was welcome in his community, he thought she had formed “a much closer relationship with Jesus Christ than you think you have and you will miss it.” ”

  17. She needs no dental plan. She can can already eat corn on the cob through a picket fence.

  18. There are plenty of reasons to find MzMay despicable for what she says and does, however criticizing someone for their looks is a cheap shot and people with intelligence should rise above that.

  19. yes, her lack of intellect and her political persuasion is more than enough.

  20. “… And then was also Queen Isabella who kicked out the Muslims out of Spain …”
Did she expel Jews too from Spain? Any reason that wasn’t mentioned?
