Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Holy hell, woman. When you send someone traffic, you send someone TRAFFIC.My hosting provider thought I was being DDoSed. - Sean McCormick
"The New York Times link to me yesterday [...] generated one-fifth of the traffic I normally get from a link from Small Dead Animals." - Kathy Shaidle
"You may be a nasty right winger, but you're not nasty all the time!" - Warren Kinsella
"Go back to collecting your welfare livelihood." - Michael E. Zilkowsky
Clearly it is all caused by Globbull Wormening.
Also, I am waiting for someone to publish results of a scientific study of volcanoes and gender.
Gaia is not pleased. We must sacrifice unborn tissue to appease HER.
Zerohedge is being overly dramatic…
http://volcano.si.edu/volcano.cfm?vn=341090
when it gets to the level of that volcano in Iceland that was affecting all of the air traffic in Europe a couple of years ago, then it might be something, right now, it just seems to be having a bit of a snit, and besides, volcanoes are good for global cooling.
I suppose now Justimbecile Trudeau will tell us we have to take in tens of thousands of Mexican refugees who are fleeing the Volcano…
So how is this going to help build the 55ft security wall?
Can’t wait to see the carbon footprint on this…
Here in Oklahoma, the tv weather guys try to outdo each other in the race for sponsors re: severe storms, tornadoes. Each evening through spring storm season, they “run and jump, scream and shout.” All the station have storm spotters out in vehicles to show the first video of whatever is happening. There have been reports of competing storm watchers having collisions at county road intersections and then jumping out for a good ole fist fight. Even my wife, Sioux and I have gotten into it. In the middle of it, we look at each other and scream; “We’re all gonna die!” They do a very good of providing timely, life saving information but they are like the loud obnoxious big boy screaming “wolf”! Cool your jets, people.
Any geologists in the crowd who can give us some hard information/background so we don’t have to rely on the swill from the lamestream media on this one?
I was in Guatemala earlier this year and one of the local volcanoes, Fuego, put on quite an impressive display. Folks who’d lived there all their lives said it was the most active they’d seen it, so there’s plainly something big going on under our feet. Not sure if I should sleep with the cookie sheet under my bed to break the impact of any eruption, or wear a parachute to bed so I can descend slowly from whatever height I’m blasted up to. Decisions, decisions . . .
There are rumblings all around the Pacific Rim. Japan had back to back earthquakes followed by a volcano eruption and the earthquake in Ecuador. Even North Korea had a volcano erupt a few days ago. Something very ominous is happening.
Wonder if this volcano was the result fracking?????
Not to worry; all you have to do is buy Volcano Credits on an exchange established by Saint Al and Chairman Mo. The purchase of these Volcano Credits will solve the problem!
Until the Justin Turdhole gives us his geologist/volcanologist treatise, I refuse to be concerned!
Something very ominous is happening.
Yes… geologists call it plate tectonics.
The Progs will blame it on ‘climate change’
Climate Change is the perfect excuse for everything. Nobody knows how much change is just enough, and nobody knows what the perfect temperature of the earth should be, even if they could measure the average temperature with more accuracy than ±1°C, which they can’t. More importantly there is no way to prove that human activities are causing any of it.
Toxic pollution however is almost entirely caused by humans and most of it is caused by burning coal in Asia where there are no pollution regulations. The pollution from making all that cheap Asian cr@p consumers love to buy is spewed into the sky, into the water and across the land. But hey, it’s not in Mr&Mrs Canada’s back yard, so who cares; let’s go shopping.
More greenhouse gasses are emitted making all that cheap imported cr@p, than all the Canadian fossil fuel we burn to heat our buildings and run our vehicles.
The government should tax all that cheap imported cr@p that actually causes most of the global GHGs & toxic pollution, fills our dumps, and takes Canadian jobs. However instead they tax Canadian fossil fuels that pay Canadian taxes, provide Canadian jobs, a roof over our heads and food on our tables.
Lieberal Progressiveness is a mental disease.
Yawn, more alarmist end-of-the-world yammering from Zero Hedge again.
It’s the end of the world as we know it.
apologies to R.E.M.
Not uncommon for this volcano.
http://volcano.si.edu/volcano.cfm?vn=341090
1. very young volcano (less 1 million years).
2. most active volcano in Mexico.
3. 70 km southeast of Mexico City, one of the most populated cities in the world.
4. not a “world-ender”. more a weekend vacation where you take your new girlfriend suggesting that “this could be it so what do you say” without ever being in danger.
5. Second highest elevation in Mexico.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Popocat%C3%A9petl
This explains the danger.
http://www.slate.com/articles/health_and_science/science/2013/07/most_dangerous_volcano_in_north_america_popocat_petl_shasta_hood_or_rainier.html
“3. 70 km southeast of Mexico City,”
I’ve to Mexico City, this Volcano may be an improvement.
One of these days Zero Hedge is going to be right.
Berkland explained that 20 of the last 25 “megaquakes” have occurred on the dates of new and full moons,… and he pointed to the San Andreas Fault and the Cascadia Subduction Zone as areas that he is particularly concerned about at the moment…
Note the Seismic Monitor on the left side of this page, see the one area on the Pacific Rim where there hasn’t been any recent activity.
That is what I thought. The leftist retards will have to raise another few billion dollars in Gia carbon taxes to negate nature giving the finger to Al Gore, David Suzuki, the IPCC, and sundry other Luddites.
Don’t you all forget to celebrate the great technological advances by man since the stone age by using as many devices and conveyance means tomorrow on Earth Day. Maybe barbecue some steaks or take mama to Dairy Queen.
Quick, find a virgin to throw in there! (You might have to post an appeal on one of those forums where the guys who like My Little Pony hang out, I think they’re the only virgins left in North America.)
darn volcanoes, spewing more stuff in the air and setting back the AGW efforts by another 100 years.
How much CO2 is being pumped into the upper atmosphear by this one eurption alone? do the idiots from Greenpeace plan to protest the euruption? Hey Green weenies today is Earthday the day of the year when you can make total fools of yourselves for the media idiots to pay attention to you more cloroflorcarbons in the air silly granola munchers/tree huggers
If you want to learn about volcanoes, check out http://www.volcanocafe.org/. Their weekly updates of global volcanic activity give a good synopsis of what’s happening out there.
Ecuador … then … Meheko … PLEASE o’Sweet Saint Ring of Fire … TAKE San Francisco out to sea … make the peninsula of misfit toys into the island of misfit toys !! Come on RING OF FIRE !!!
l’m betting that the Cascade Subduction Zone will be the first one to go since there’s huge activity in Yellowstone right now.
San Francisco had a quake in 1988 (?) while Cascadia has not done its thing for 315 years.
That fault line is approx from Sacramento to Vancouver Island.
There was a story on it last week which said that everything to the west of the fault line could immediately drop 20 feet … and the resulting ocean coming in would take care of millions of people with Portland being one of the hardest hit.
