Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Absolutely priceless!!!
I am going to get some mileage out of that meme. Thanks to whoever created it!
Ms. Joy is a butt hurt libtard. She is now angry that we are all laughing and owning her feeble joke.
Henceforth, Canada Geese are hereby named Donald Ducks!
Making the enemy live up to their own rules is #4,
rubbing their nose in it is rule #5,
and through both the Left has so successfully, for so long,
received total deference because children fear being called names.
Weak men/hard times might just be turning the page.
from the Liberal perfected ‘watch me’ school of administration.
exquisite !!!
I’m looking forward to Trump declaring a 100 boonies are a Benjamin.
Hush, hush, sweet Charlotte,
Charlotte, Haida Gwaii…
Haida Gwaii that builds the boat and Haid Gwaii that sails her, Haida Gwaii that catches the fish…
The additional and excessive paint necessary to manufacture street signage in Canada is incredibly damaging to the already hugely threatened climate. Yes, Canada, you did it.
‘Ere climate! Shape up or I’ll kick you in the nads.
-there, done my bit o climate threatening-
And if the climate doesn’t warm up the way we predicted, we’ll set all the forests in Canada on fire!
So there! Take that all you damn climate change deniers!
”You can’t just erase history”
But Canada-hating Canadians can …
I’m just wondering how long it will take the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario (ETFO) to update their curriculum.
The acronym used by students to remember the names of the Great Lakes HOMES (Huron, Ontario, Michigan, Erie, Superior) will be changed.
The new acronym will be SHAME, as in it’s a shame that Canada walked away from a good trade deal with the US.
I’m old enough to have read The Jerry Lucas Memory Book back in High School … when first published in 1974.
https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/103600/the-memory-book-by-harry-lorayne-and-jerry-lucas/
It should be mandatory reading for all schoolchildren.
The acronym I learned, just after the dinosaurs left was: She Made Him Eat Oranges
Mnemonic is the term you’re looking for.
F. Scott FitzGerald’s memorable cousin, M. Nemonic FitzGerald.
Why not Lake Sankofa or was that slave trading Ghanaian tribe’s name already used in Toronto?
James Evans created the Cree and Ojibway alphabet.
https://library.vicu.utoronto.ca/collections/special_collections/f10_james_evans
The indians were always an oral society. To encourage educational aspirations, (mitigate anal tendencies) James Evans created the cree and ojibway alphabets so they can record their cultural accomplishments. That action, on his part, led to these dumb road signs we see today.
James Evans ran into some difficulties because he went native.
Is he the guy with six (cough) wives? Or he is the baby sitter? Or am I repeating myself?
As I understand it, he went full native lifestyle. That included the band pumps.
My younger self would be appalled that I’m sitting here laughing at Canada getting dragged by one old guy with bad hair. Every meme and troll makes me giggle.
But that’s what 70 years of #Lieberal rule has done. Taken proud patriots and turned them into cynical geezers who laugh at the joke Canada has become. We’ve been saying this is coming forever, and now, finally, here it is.
Elbows up, eh?
Oh by the way, everybody got their generator and some gas for it? If #BlubberDouggie switches off the power to New York, the blow-back is going to be -spectacular-. You’ll be glad of a few extra gallons when all the gas station pumps go dead in the province-wide blackout. Gas stations don’t have generators, but they do have electric pumps. Power blackout, no fuel. Important safety tip.
“If #BlubberDouggie switches off the power to New York”
President Trump is all about American security right now.
I’d hate to think something so stupid would be the cause of a catastrophy.
Nahhhhh … Canada has plenty of windmills and solar to replace that missing USA power. Right?
“Canada has plenty of windmills and solar to replace that missing USA power. Right?”
You’re not going to believe this, but Canada sells the solar/windmill power to the USA every time we get a surge on our electrical grid. We sell it AT A LOSS. Because without the US grid taking the surplus power, our grid will melt.
By which I mean the power lines will physically melt.
And the reason for this is A) the wind blows when it blows, not when you need more power, and B) constructive interference, aka “ringing” in the lines, that thing that makes your guitar feed back when you face the amp. Windmills do that a lot. That’s what blacked out Spain a while ago.
If the USA drops it’s Canadian grid connections, the first thing Ontario Hydro is going to do will be take all those fricking windmills off the grid.
I’m in a group chat to talk to keep updated of my aged parents 96 and 91, with my 3 sisters and a brother (who hasn’t said a word in the past 4? years) and since the most recent American election the discussion has turned to 70% mom and dad, and 30% talk of how terrible (and stupid) The President of the United States is. In the past week the convo has flipped to 30% mom and dad 70% The President of the United States. I have yet to comment on this situation of having someone as President whom they don’t agree with. I can’t win an argument with them without explaining the backstory on every single issue, the simplest of topics would turn into a 20 minutes history lesson of what has led to this. They have no idea of why The President uses tariffs as part of negotiations, no idea of the dairy cartel aside from Canadians “being protected from American dairy”… any topic, they’re all the same. If I needed to know their opinions on anything I could simply tune into CTV or Global for the update. Mark Twain summed it up best in his commentary of arguing with a stupid person.
They’re all multiply jabbed, and I’m anti-jab, their silence on this matter has been an inspiration to all of those elsewhere who have 6 years of idiocy to explain.
I don’t care what they call any of the Great Lakes as long as it’s generally pronounceable by most folks as it makes for an idiocy loop when no one can actually say what it is, the recent renaming binge in Canada seems more signal and noise than real purpose, unless the purpose is to erase your history.
“I’m in a group chat with…”
Sounds like your silent brother has the right idea.
“I can’t win an argument with them without explaining the backstory on every single issue…”
The only way to win is not to play. During Covid I stopped playing, because I found myself trying to explain naturally acquired immunity to people who were trained in it, and knew better. I admit to being socially awkward, but even I can tell when they’re p1ssing on my leg and telling me that’s rain.
This is the Canada in which we now find ourselves. Super fun.
In China in 1956 they called it “let one hundred flowers bloom”. And in 1957 anybody who had been fool enough to offer an opinion vanished. Poof, like magic.
Plenty more lakes.
I’d save Lake Superior to be renamed Lake Trump.
Please. It’s not Lake Superior … or Trump
https://youtu.be/M3x2vcergP0?si=tu4IzzP3MrAOz4UF
The Ojibwe name for the lake is gichi-gami (in syllabics: ᑭᒋᑲᒥ, pronounced gitchi-gami or kitchi-gami in different dialects),meaning “great sea”. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow wrote this name as “Gitche Gumee” in the poem The Song of Hiawatha, as did Gordon Lightfoot in his song “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald”
Mumble, mumble, something, something … about 400 years of history
“They say” 400 years of history, but how do we know? The present tribes were not in those areas 400 years ago.
The cree became the fur trading middlemen and went where they were told. They slaughtered others as was the cultural practise of the time. The same goes for the Iroquois. There are many old books that cover these topics.
If you are interested in this type of thing, here is a link to a 1940 book about the Wars of the Iroquois
https://www.jstor.org/content/oa_book_monograph/jj.33092065
You can download a copy from that webpage.
It has been said that …George T. Hunt’s classic 1940 study of the Iroquois during the middle and late seventeenth century presents warfare as a result of depletion of natural resources in the Iroquois homeland and tribal efforts to assume the role of middlemen in the fur trade between the Indians to the west and the Europeans…
In Saskatchewan, “”Gitchi Gumee” means, “my underwear needs washing”.
Isn’t that … Itchy Gumee?
Lake Michigan to Lake Somali?
Trump has more problems than Canada
