The scientists found that over the last 40 years, stream temperatures warmed at the average rate of 0.10 degrees Celsius (0.18 degrees Fahrenheit) per decade. This translates to thermal habitats shifting upstream at a rate of only 300-500 meters (0.18-0.31 miles) per decade in headwater mountain streams where many sensitive cold-water species currently live. The authors are quick to point out that climate change is still detrimentally affecting the habitats of those species, but at a much slower rate than dozens of previous studies forecast. The results of this study indicate that many populations of cold-water species will continue to persist this century and mountain landscapes will play an increasingly important role in that preservation.
Wait. There exist species capable of life in an environment with temperature deviations of .1 Celsius per decade? Charles Darwin, call your office.

It’s not about saving the environment, as so many limousine liberals try to tell you and their blind followers, it’s about introducing a global tax and spreading the wealth.
The 0.1 is generally consistent with the decadal rise in temperatures since about 1850 and the end of the Dalton Minimum. Far from providing evidence of AGW, by showing no apparent trend it’s denying AGW yet another piece of evidence in support.
Not one of the so-called scientists belonging to the Global Warming Church can state what the optimum temperature is for the earth that would maximize biodiversity and stability of life. Species adapt, and for all we know the planet as a whole will be *better* off with warmer temperatures.
The Global Warming Scare is no different than the cholesterol scare of years past. There are many “scientists” who cannot do real science, so they get into the business of doomsday science as it can be profitable.
I hate them all because they give science a bad name. And as for the stupid engineers who follow in their wake, with dumb ideas about wind power and so forth, I despite them too. And as for the politicians and their carbon taxes and other ridiculous schemes, the words needed to describe them would not be appropriate for this magnificent website of Kate’s.

Eighty years ago today was one of the worst tornado outbreaks in US history.
This came two weeks after the most extensive flooding in East Coast history.
February, 1936 was the coldest February in US history.
And the summer of 1936 was the hottest in US history.
1936 was by far the most extreme year in US history. NOAA and NASA have responded to this by altering the data in an attempt to cover it up.
So yet more predictions which were wrong but should never have been questioned.
So each decade the prevailing temperature of water moves 300-500 metres upstream? Which brings up polar bears. If their range moves north, there are no less bears. They just trade real estate.

With apologies to Shakespeare, “A Tax by any other name is still a Tax” and politicians the world over love any kind of tax as it increases their domination over the little people. Carbon taxes whether they be cap and trade or consumption are nothing more than legalized theft from the “illiterate”. The “illuminati” are hell bent on saving the planet by enforcing laws and taxes that are designed to curb our lifestyle but will have no impact on theirs. Here is a little flash for anybody out there that wants to put some thought into the ‘Greenie’ argument about saving the planet. Water vapour makes up a far, far larger percentage of the earth’s atmosphere than carbon dioxide does. Now in the last hundred years mankind has injected more water vapour into the atmosphere through mechanical irrigation for the purpose of producing food than the amount of carbon that the ‘Greenies’ say is causing global warming. How many million, perhaps billion cubic kilometers of water are sprayed into the atmosphere world wide every year? Water vapour that is artificially introduced as opposed to natural evaporation. But if we stop this artificial introduction of water vapour into the atmosphere we would see a decrease in agricultural production and thus severe famines, resulting in untold death and misery. End result would be a drastic reduction in the number of ‘Greenies’ or ‘illuminati’ telling us how we should live our lives because they’d be the first to succumb to the chaos that would ensue.
OMG ! The utter stupidity of this all. Darwin can rest in peace, because the fishies don’t need his theory to survive this statistical interpolation of an insignificant temperature deviation. These so-called scientists (Ichthyologists ? … or AGW-ists ?) don’t spend much time in the field ? do they ? If they did … if they were … say … a fly fisherman prowling the snowmelt waters of the Sierra or Grand Tetons on a regular basis, they would realize how utterly DUMB their faux panic over tiny water temperature variations really is. Don’t they realize how wide a temperature range these cold-water fish already deal with on a daily basis ? Are they unaware of water temp variation from top to bottom of a stream or lake ? or the temp ranges between sun and shade, or the temp variations between rapid and slow currents ? How DO these poor little fish contend with natural and normal droughts, or heat waves ? How could these creatures POSSIBLY deal with variations in reservoir release rates ? AGW has been nothing more than an exercise in statistical mum on-jumbo … devoid of any serious biology … let alone climatology. Give it a rest ! And go write a grant request to study something that REALLY matters … that’s REALLY happening.

They figured out that they were wrong by examining the available data? How arrive at the original hypotheses? By NOT looking at the existing data? Are most global warming claims mere assertions, without any basis in fact? Probably

These ideas are similar to those expressed in the LEAP Manifesto. AGW is simply the lever that allows them to push their agenda. That is why no matter what proof to the contrary you have that there is no AGW, they never give up. You may as well be talking to a wall. They are determined to ruin the economies of Western nations — I think with the expectation that this well be beneficial to poorer countries. What fools.

Well, that’s a sure sign of uncontrollable warming trends, eh wot?
They can study all they want but the fact is, species survival is far more dependent on year to year variations than long-term trends. Evolution suggests the reason, it’s far easier to adapt to continuous change than to random and large-scale differences.
Now, I’m not saying that in this particular case, major changes in future years will wipe out the species being studied. Nobody can really predict that, but when a series has a variance that is fifty or a hundred times the rate of change, it’s pretty simple to see where the real stress originates.
