Back in 2012 under Harper the deficit was $28 billion and the cost of government FUBAR on just small business, was estimated at $30 billion,we were assured a recession was happening at this time.

“$1b for “affordable housing” and homelessness. ” They had this exact same initiative under Chretien. All they ended up doing was creating some bureaucratic entity in Ottawa. No affordable homes were created nor those who are homeless helped. When you think about it homelessness is often related to drug usage . . . mental illness. These are problems, but addressing the central problem as “homelessness” does not really solve the issue. This really is a kind of “back to the future” budget — Libs never have any new ideas or real solutions. It is always just spending money — often as directed by bureaucrats who have no notion of how to solve problems. This will be more money spent with nothing to show for it.
They’re also throwing $300m this year at tackling youth “unemployment,” apparently “creating” 50,000 jobs. Strangely I didn’t find any information about jobs destroyed. We know how well that will go. Let’s file that one away and take a look at future youth unemployment, which they’re creating.
Old joke quote about Pierre Trudeau: “Unemployment isn’t working.” Actually it works fine for the LPC.
It’s not as if we weren’t warned. So far so bad. Same goes for the change he promised, except for modest deficits, balance budgeting or lowering debt to GDP. But we get to add in more white elephants, pipeline paralysis, selling Israel down the river and giving millennials future tax increases.
Then again his dad ran $130b deficits in today’s$, so he’s nothing like his dad. His supporters are right, we just need to give him more time for that.
