  1. Imagine running over a current day mid-size Chevrolet with that. It wouldn’t even flinch.

      1. Clapton and Van Morrison were two of the few musicians who dared question the COVID orthodoxy. Of course they must be punished. I wouldn’t wipe my as with Rolling Stone.

      2. May I suggest there is also another reason for the drop from ‘god’ to #35 … DEI

The RS list is replete with dozens of old black blues musicians you’ve never heard of. I believe the DEI imperative insists that ALL white blues musicians need to lay prostrate at the feet of the ‘true’ blues guitarists … who were there first.

That’s all well and good … but the white guitarists took everything ever played by the old toothless black man and elevated it to a serious high art form. Consider how Clapton’s writing (and playing) starts with a strong infectious rhythmic hook … and then gives way to a mind bending, string bending solo that shows off his incomparable skills.

If a guitarist is to be considered great … they MUST be able to write an infectious, accessible tune (IMHO) … otherwise music becomes a clanging gong that makes people cover their ears. Clapton has done it all … as good or better than anyone ever.

And yeah … he’s rich-enough and powerful enough to speak his mind about the COVID cock-up … while all the other so-called ‘free thinking’ artists published ‘safe’ Zoom collaborations on the soulless internets. That solidified my admiration of Clapton forever.

        1. I agree with what Jeff Beck said about Clapton, that they had an uncomfortable rivalry (in the 60’s), and that many of Eric’s long minutes solos were minutes too long.
They did get on well in later years with Beck performing a couple of times at Clapton’s Crossroads Festivals
I think Clapton should be in the top 5 with Hendrix Page Beck Clapton and SRV (and often not in that order) To move him down the list to #35 because RS doesn’t like what he’s said about the great jab fiasco of the 2020’s exposes RS more for what it’s become.
One of RS’s lists here, I agree with less than 5% of this…

      3. Rolling Stone and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame are two sides of the same turd. I’m not sure where they are coming from. Has anyone bought a Rolling Stone since 1975, I haven’t? There are a dozen or two classic rock acts that are ignored and a dozen or two folk, rap, or country acts in the Hall of Fame. Where the eff are the Monkees?

        1. Oh, I bought Rolling Stone on and off into the 90’s. They did a reasonable job of covering the current music and my friend’s kids used to enjoy seeing it. I’ve had no reason to glance at it in this century.

    1. Every new edict by totalitarian government seems to be an exercise in conditioning citizens to demonstrate compliance for no reason. “Because we said so…bullshit reason.”

Uh … what kind of economic alchemy bullshit is that? i made $1.75/hr. at TomTerry’s EXXON gasoline station in 1972. He’s a liar. Deliberately deceiving the weak-minded weaklings of our society.

    1. I somehow managed to make it through all of my elementary, middle school and high school education without hearing of a single “school shooting” EVER during that time … from 1960 – 1974.

What’s changed in our culture and society. Answer that question honestly, and you’ll find the answer.

      1. Yes, gentlemen. All true. These automobiles weren’t called land yachts for nothing. Perhaps if you followed the trend and tried living on your land yacht … then at least you’d eliminate your housing cost!

Two young women, in their 20s, died when their overcrowded migrant boat, beached in northern France, in a failed attempt to reach the UK. They were found inside the boat. With these human smuggling operations, it’s every person for herself. Nice.

    1. Did they examine the women to see if they had been assaulted, or if their fellow passengers left them alone… waiting for the white meat soon to be available to them?

      1. Rape kits are never used on ‘immigrant’ women … as it’s halal or something …

  3. Sorry, I am pretty out of it with what appears to be a bad cold, for a couple of days now, as if sleep problems weren’t bad enough.

So if my postings have errors, please just give me a polite heads-up which shouldn’t be a problem with all the AH having been purged from here by Kate.

        1. Bummer. Sorry to hear that … I’ll stop complaining about all my trivial ailments.

    1. And I think Chrysler countered it with the Newport, the only car that you could store bodies in the trunk without bending the legs.

      1. So, was it was built with a purpose in mind?

The car you need, after rigor mortis has set in!

  5. Robert, thank you for the Rubio video. It certainly put a smile on my face.

    1. As someone who has flown the Greyhound Bus of the skies … I can relate to the passengers as depicted in the video.

    1. Every single Democrat running for State office in CA are running ads proudly saying how they are ‘fighting Trump’ … every single one has made that the CENTRAL plank on their platform.

      1. Stop feeding them … and they’ll stop coming.
Fair enough. Put something in the grain

      2. Cutting refugee SNAP benefuts seems to flow naturally into the proposed bailout of SPIRIT Airline into government owned DEPORT Airline.

        1. And then Spirit can cut the frills even further, such as no toilets on the repatriation flights. Everyone has to go before their deportation flights.

  6. AB separation supporters needed to have 177k signers to force the separtion referendum for October, they dropped off 300k signatures this AM to Elections Alberta. EA has 21 days to verify some signatures to show they’re valid and not forged or coerced or from people who’ve signed and are not normally Albertan citizens, if they have 177k or more signatures then it’ll go to the already scheduled vote for 19 October…

There are a few other referendums/referendi scheduled for this date here, some of which are related to sovereignty within AB and will be moot if the separation vote is successfully for separation from Canada.

AB voted in favor of removing equalization from the constitution with a vote of 61% and there was no response from the federal gov’t. I think, “this time they’ll notice our vote” …
