  1. Polar vortex , snow storms , Great Lakes freezing over are all signs of global warming. Science proves it ! Blowhards blowing every weather event out of proportion , well you don’t have to be a scientist to figure out what that is . Warmest year ever cause the said so ,that’s science. Publish imperial data to be discerned and critiqued , well that would be science if you could trust them to not fudge the numbers to fit their narrative .

  2. Sid Vicious reporting live from just outside Philly: Right now we have about 14 Inches of the warmening on the ground. Very blowy. Drifting. Wind chill at 13F. Another 12 hours to go. And I love it.
Jersey shore is getting pounded by combination of high tides, wind and flooding.
My brother who lives just outside of DC says he has 24+ inches with more to come.

  3. Danged autocorrect. I wonder what imperial data might be – probably tax returns or Domesday material.
    Full Definition of empirical
1: originating in or based on observation or experience
2: relying on experience or observation alone often without due regard for system and theory
3: capable of being verified or disproved by observation or experiment
4: of or relating to empiricism
Yes, it is evident that the warmists make the data fit the theory. Sadly, that is what some branches of science have sunk to. And the liberals cluck about evidence-based or science-based policy making, but are certainly selective about what science they pay attention to.

  4. Just heard CBC scolding people for skiing and playing in the snow in DC.
“They were told to stay inside”,she said.

  5. Since when has winter become a strange occurrence? Because Manbearpig said so?
FYI, havent seen a harsh cold spell or blizzard in Whacktoria for 4 years. An El Nino year likely means another year without

  6. It takes a special kind of mind to ignore the evidence outside your door while advancing AGW policies.

  7. Mayor Belagio of New york ordering parents to keep their children inside. Too dangerous to play outside!!
Unbelievable!!! The media happily broadcasting message to scare children from playing in the snow!!

  8. did anybody take in the NOVA documentary last week about the shrinking Antarctic krill populations, based on records starting in the 1930s?
The investigators narrowed it down to a correlation between when the sea ice starts to form and melt. It has to happen soon enough to trap phytonplankton that the krill feed on as the ice melts on the underside; freeze too late, and the phytoplankton aren’t there in the water to be caught in the ice.
Well, guess what it is that delays the start of freezing and hastens the start of the melting. Hint: the area of freezing can match or exceed average, the key is *when* it starts and ends.
The krill provide food for the entire ‘upline’ in the food chain, whales, penguins, seals, whatnot.

  9. Gotta watch for them poley bears, doncha know. With all the ice and snow disappearing at home, they go anywhere they can find it. And besides, the little critters are a lot tastier than those yucky seals.

  10. Don’t be silly you stupid deniers. This IS still Global Warming and is simply part of the massive, catastrophic, sudden, Climate Change caused by the use of fossil fuels. You have hurt Gaia … and she is mad. THAT is sciencitific TRUTH. Now PAY more taxes to fund the healing, and help all the peaceful, loving, 3rd worlders who have rejected your industrialization and are suffering for it. PAY YOUR FAIR SHARE to heal our planet … PAYYYYYYYY

  11. There can be only ONE conclusion … when the “science is settled” … and the research funding is directed entirely to support that conclusion. Only that’s NOT science. It’s advocacy politics.

  12. Oh, that’s sissy stuff compared to my childhood, not far from where Kate tries to jump road ruts on her bicycle.

  13. tell that to the trillions of krill who vacate huge swaths of ocean. and are subject to the sliding numbers measured over decades. using scientific methods like sampling the same areas at the same depth on the same day of the year. using the same sized nets with the same size mesh. etc etc, as shown in the documentary.
it takes science, devoid of agenda. but in the age of instant communications we learn that scientists have an agenda called their career and legacy. and wallet, which explains why in some circles smoking has no effect on health. it’s like politicians who contract poll after poll after poll until they get one, done at arm’s length, all done according to accepted rules and procedures (what dat?), until one pops up with the desired result. THAT is the one that gets announced in the press release.
so where do we go for truly objective scientific method and accurate results? big pharma? CIA? foreign nations? philanthropists? grandma’s rocking chair?
that’s why I’m skeptical of the whole ball of wax. I do concede that there appears to be evidence of gradual warming, but claims for instance of rise in ocean levels measured in centimeters when there are waves, tides, changes in density due to temperature, that I dismiss. Also, just because there is this supposed gradual rise, ascribing that to human activity is a stretch. It may be happening due to some unknown astronomical effect with a 50,000 years cycle for all I know.
the basic, fundamental, core problem we face is not the numbers, it’s human ego that demands to always be ‘right’ and that includes a lot more than scientific investigation. politics, religion, culture bla bla bla. ALL starts from a position of ego.
can you tell I’ve taken a long hard look at the issues?
the difficulty in these times is, admitting one could be mistaken brings the worst out of others who instantly pounce and turn it into a verbal jousting match; driven by ego. sometimes I turn discussions into a private sociological experiment with humorous results.

  14. Yiikes !! The LIVE cam is showing it really blowing hard ! Wind chill into the negative numbers ? No doubt Al Gore is warming his ample posterior adjacent to some burning carbon.

  15. The temperature in NYC is in the -2 centigrade area all week.
I get that the snow accumulations would be inconvenient, that traffic would be chaotic…
There was a group of kids from a university in North Dakota that were asked how they were doing during the NYC storm, the response, “we’re good” and laughing.
Clearly, the mush brained Democrats are at the helm in this area, and in cahoots with the CBC crowd reporting that “they were told to stay inside” … as if a scolding from the CBC is in any way helpful.

  16. The biggest problem we have had from krill is when they swim up our creek here in northern Oklahoma. They school around a while and then commence to walk up into the garden and eat like little pig-fish. They can clean all the green beans off a bush in about 2 minutes. And that’s not the worst part. There’s always a whale or two following them. Wow, that’s a whole lot of cleaning and canning.
But, you know what we say here on the Great Plains: “Save the whales, they’re good to eat!”
Sliced real thin with mayo on pumpernickel. With some Lays potato chips and a dill pickle on the side.
My oh my, with a slice of pie. Cherry, that is.

  17. The 325 million drama queens to the south of us are at it again.
    Canada: “Heavy snow expected.”
America: “We’re going to die. DIE. DIEEEEEAEA! Oh Gad it is TERRRRRRRRIBLE and awful!!!!.

  18. “Sliced real thin with mayo on pumpernickel.”
Pumpernickel, may taste good, but it makes you fart ugly.
That said, snow is a Canadian heritage. Smile while you shovel it.
…Or if you’re an immigrant, just ignore it like all my immigrant neighbours do and don’t shovel at all.
It isn’t as though you’ll get a visit from the bye-law officers because, HEY!, you’re a vismin* immigrant.
Maybe you can just throw some salt down and ruin my boots as well as burning the paws of my dogs when we take a walk on the public sidewalk.
    Problem solved.
*is there any other kind now-a-days?

  19. Oz:
there is a product made of tough stretchy thin rubber with a selection of sizes that go on the doggy’s paws and work wonders dealing with salted roads and walks.
http://www.pawzdogboots.com I tested the ‘store locator’, checks out.
I used to carry my Juno the black lab across intersections until I found them in the pet store. made is USA so you know they are safe and actually work. they even put extra ones in the pkg to replace ones that fall off, wear out. I wish everything I bought worked as good as this product. p.s. 20 bucks a pkg but well worth it.
as an aside note regarding vismins and critters, EVERY opportunity that occurs, I give Juno a great big wet kiss *right in front of the aghast muslimes* looking on. I wonder the next time *our* culture sends earthquake rescue DOGS to one of their 18th century shytholes next time the need arises, are they going to categorically refuse the animals search for their loved one under the rubble?

  20. 7th February 2014? Esquimalt lagoon three parts covered in ice? Took a day trip into Whacktoria from Hey-Nonny-Nanaimo and saw icicles the length of my arm gracing almost every lump of rock on the Malahat and around Colwood and Langford. December 2015 saw -4 frosts up here in sunny Saanich six days in a row. I know it’s not the midwest’s typical -20, and the snow has stayed north of Goldstream but it’s still cold enough to make us svelte suburbanites shiver.

  21. I was in the Blackfoot Inn Sports lounge last night waiting to get into the Laff Shop to see Steve Patterson (CBC Radio Host)…yea I know – never heard of him till last night. Anyway, besides a NJ vs Edm Hockey game was a CNN broadcast doing what CNN does and the main outside reporter was wearing more clothing than found by your avg Inuit on Jan 01….it was -6C. I couldn’t hear what they were saying, but the portrayal was definitely: STORMAGEDDON…STAY Inside….you will DIE if you go out….!!!
Nothing short of professional FEAR mongering…Amazing. That they even have an audience for that drivel speaks volumes…

  22. The end of snow Yeah Sure Woo Hoo tell me about it New York Slime’s(All the Craps that’s Fit to Print)i can still remember when they were predicting a earth so poluter we would all be wearing gas masks to go outside and our cities would be under giant domes(John Travolta has blabbered this poppycock)and all the false predictions of Paul Ehrlich and as usial the lap dog media still listens to these twats
