State of the Union, January 12th, 2016 – Sixty years ago, when the Russians beat us into space, we didn’t deny Sputnik was up there. We didn’t argue about the science, or shrink our research and development budget.
State of the Science, January 12th, 2016 – Webbed feet, cat’s eyes and gills: Features are just some that humans could evolve to have to deal with a ‘water world’ due to global warming

Evolution is slow, we have been walking upright for better than a million years and our most tender rude bits and basically our entire gut structure is fully exposed
Dr Matthew Skinner, a paleoanthropologist?
Seriously?
Where did he do the research, comic books perhaps?
I’m okay if the oceans rise 1,900 feet. When that happens, you can find me in Denver, at 5,000 feet – without webbed feet. Seriously – where did they find that moron?
Waterworld was a documentary? Who knew?
We are still technically in an ice age, likely and fortunately in another inter-glacial period. Given that, warming is a good thing as the reverse doesn’t lead to anywhere pleasant. Meanwhile as the “civilized world” is dominated by green theocracy, the CAGW scam (in Prog-speak – “climate change”) sucks $1.5 trillion out of otherwise productive economies every year. Hysteria pimping is big business, has become mainstream bilge and serves as a wonderful distraction for those who have contributed and continue contributing to the total bankruptcy of western leviathan states.
Amphibious Children Are The Future; That’s Why I’m Stocking Up On Fishing Line and Treble Hooks
Remember on waterworld the water has risen 29000 ft. The plaque said Edmund Hillary on the beach
I didn’t watch Oblala’s lecture as I had more important things to do….like clean my shower curtain….but did he REALLY say that? Wow….the man is dumber than I thought.
I remember reading a prediction many years ago that if humans continue driving cars our legs would atrophy and ultimately disappear.
If we keep on watching Obama our brains will atrophy…
Gills, webbed feet?
That explains Debbie Wasserman Shultz……
Six months ago, when the spring turned into summer, we didn’t deny the sun was there. What illogical garbage from this man!!
I did see animals walking by 2×2 the other day and I have been thinking about building a boat – hmmm – Flipper for president !
“Sixty years ago, when the Russians beat us into space, we didn’t deny Sputnik was up there. We didn’t argue about the science, or shrink our research and development budget.”
Sixty years ago? The only African-Americans in the White House were the domestic staff.
“The past is a foreign country: they do things differently there.”

Try to imagine Eisenhower telling the US Sputnik was going to destroy the world by 1960 if we didn’t form a massive, lavishly funded transnational bureaucracy that redistributed wealth to the Third World, and thirty years later Reagan telling us that Sputnik, within five years, is really, really, really going to destroy the world if we don’t spend even more money.
I was taught that Lamarckian theory is incorrect, but I swear these idiots are trying to bring it back into scientific discourse.
Trofim Lysenko would be proud of today’s enviro-whackos.
Quick, someone Tweet deCaprio: it’s 8 Celsius- 46F in something he can understand – here in Calgary on JANUARY 13 – in the middle of winter! The snow’s melting! I’ve lived ‘out here’ for over 50 years and I’ve never seen this happen before!! Honest!!
“Try to imagine Eisenhower telling the US Sputnik was going to destroy the world by 1960 if we didn’t form a massive, lavishly funded transnational bureaucracy that redistributed wealth to the Third World, and thirty years later Reagan telling us that Sputnik, within five years, is really, really, really going to destroy the world if we don’t spend even more money.”
And of course there’s the obvious: unlike the vast and largely amorphous issue of “climate change” with all its unknowns and unquantifiables, Sputnik represented a fairly straightforward metric: a small satellite placed in orbit by a specific Soviet rocket technology that could be replicated, developed and surpassed by US industrial innovation.
hey. you. ya you, mre green.
can you tread water for 500,000 years whilst evolution kicks in?
what utter grade school drivel.
No one ever accused paranoid leftists of being smart.
“Webbed feet, cat’s eyes and gills”
Like there is no such thing as floatation, cay’s eyes/WTF? and whales/dolphins/seals/sea otters happen to be successful mammals w/o the need for gills.
Science, my Aunt Fanny! The State of Science is puerile eco-religious scaremongering.
“Sixty years ago, when the Russians beat us into space”
The Russians didn’t beat the Americans into space.
The Americans didn’t even conceive of being in space until the Russians did it first.
Then, after the Americans understood the concept of even being in space instead of just sending an ICBM through it on it’s trajectory path, the Americans conceived of the Space Race as a CYA propaganda idea.
there is not enough ground ice to raise the oceans.
Maybe the US should worry more about this science.
