  7. I assume this individual who seems apparently incapable of actual content but instead opts for Ad hominem attacks is someone we’re supposed to know. Seeing how he must work for a paper I won’t read, he has unsurprisingly reinforced my reasons for continuing not to read it. I also find myself constantly bewildered with twitter comments so thin and lacking in information that it is difficult to know what they are talking about.

  8. It is not even clear what he is complaining about. His comment — plus a few additional comments of support from leftists make it quite clear that they are rude and unthinking morons. Surely, if Rempel said something he objected to he could counter that rather than issuing cheap insults. I really do not think that is appropriate for a grown up — let alone someone who should be concerned about their public reputation.

    “As of Dec 14 2015 we will no longer play a pre-recorded message if you forget to dial 1 before making a long distance call within Canada. Instead we’ll connect you right away. Long distance fees will continue to apply, so please check your account at MyRogers to better understand what is included in your plan. Thank you”
    I replied,
    “The aged on fixed incomes who are less capable of remembering to press 1 before making a call will suffer the most.”
    Rogers replied, “Msgs sent to this address are not read.”

  16. The woman is Michelle Rempel, MP for Calgary Nose Hill. She’s as bright as she is beautiful, and has a rather wicked sense of humour. Last session of Parliament, she had some rather sexy photos taken in the House, which didn’t go down well with the left-wing puritanical types (and I apologize to Puritans).

  27. I think the leftist media have a problem. With Harper gone, they do not know where to direct their attacks. So they come up with this half-baked criticism of Rempel. They are also dragging out Trump, suggesting ways he might be relevant in Canada. Scott Reid was comparing him to Rob Ford last week.
    + Actually, it’s pathetic. They do not relate to ideas. It is also about creating straw men and beating them up. Huffpo and Tyee are really desperate. Whatever will they do when errors made by the boy wonder’s government are harder to cover up. Why has no one questioned the bizarre decision to send 350 people to the climate talks? We are not a serious country. The media is not serious and if we go down in flames (as we soon will), it will be richly deserved Good by Canada.

  29. Let me sum up: Minister McCallum said something not too bright and apparently offended Michelle Rempel. He’s not the sharpest knife in the cabinet drawer. Michelle Rempel, never one to pass up the opportunity to get her name in the news, seizes the moment and makes a less than intelligent point. Nobody thinks that she will ever rise any higher in the party than she is now. George Froehlich, apparently some producer with Rogers weighs in with a foaming-at-the-mouth tweet that prompts Dean Skoreyko to threaten to file a complaint with Rogers Media. The gang here at SDA then spent the next 6 hours debating the whole issue even though we didn’t have a clue what McCallum said, what Rempel replied and what Froehlich was ranting about. We should do this more often.

  32. terry, try to keep up, Remple asked a legitimate question regarding other immigrants being delayed by the refugees. Foster Brooks opened his answer by smirking and telling her she should try to look more sunny. She simply called this out as sexist.
    Try to imagine the media reaction had a conservative MP told a Liberal woman she should try to look sunnier and Harper told her he was laughing at her.
    Now compare it to the media’s reaction to this. Ya think it involves ignoring it and calling the Liberal MP an idiot woman and a moron?

  39. Wally, so true about Goodale. He has never taken a controversial or substantial stand on anything. He just sits in the background nodding his head so he can keep getting re-elected and not have to get a real job. Sadly the Regina constituents fawn all over him and keep giving him another term, I don’t get it.
