Here, Tell These People Something They Don’t Know About Me

The American Reboot.

What’s happening is that Gessler’s Hat has been knocked off the pole. For those who don’t know the story, the rebellion against the Habsburgs by what became Switzerland started when a certain William Tell refused to bow to Gessler’s headgear, which was placed on a pole in the market square of Altdorf. It was only a seemingly little incident but it turned into a big deal.
No one could know it, certainly not Gessler and perhaps not even William Tell, but that act of symbolic defiance touched off a series of unpredictable events whose consequences echo to this day, 800 years later. A very similar thing is unfolding today. Trump has forced politics to squarely face the taboo. That act has caused a cascade which is releasing a lot of pent-up energy.

  1. Trump touts mum ,apple pie and the American way, American is what everyone wants to be except the liberal elite. Hell even the swedes dress like Americans

  2. After 7-8 years of Obama and all this PC Shiite, and with more terrorists attacks coming,
Americans are fed up and that can of Worms has Turned.
Politicians are realizing that in order to feed at the trough they have to follow it no matter where we stick it..
Who says you cant lead Politicians to water, and make them drink anything we want ?

The Donald Finger on the button ?
Hell, even Russian pres Putin is talking about Nuking Islamsicks..

All I can say is that I hope the same kind of change in political discourse happens in Canada. Political correctness has for some time muzzled almost all forms of meaningful political discussion. If Trump has done anything he has challenged the status quo of political discourse. I think that’s a good thing.

  4. Islam today, it was katholicism yesterday. Who was the trump of yesterday, oh yah, I think his name was Luther!!!

  5. Trump will be President! or Republicans will not only lose the WH, they will lose Congress… The Corrupt self-serving cronyism that has keep Obama in power (War on terror has been profitable) is not just the Democrat establishment.
Time to flush this nonsense, one way or another. If trump runs as an independent the tea party may also run candidates against Republican Senators, or not vote.
    Let it all hangout!

  6. Good to see someone rocking the boat…..needs to be rocked more.
Perhaps Trump should have put it another way.
None the less the media cartel, the Democrats and the republican establishment cliques are using the statement to construct another story, different from Trump’s, to take advantage of the LIVs that have no time to delve into things due the fact that they have to work for living and mainly to pay taxes.
The media/political complex will fix the inconvenient truth, chew on it swallow it and spew it up unrecognizable to feed it to the LIVs.
Did anybody hear Trump say that he would stop the immigration of Muslims until they figure out how to proceed?
Could that be to set up some kind of security clearance? Catch the bad guys?
To tell the truth this is no win situation for no one. The media/political complex will cook up and package some nonsense and the world will be glad.
    Heh.
Something like a revolution is just around the corner.

  7. Jamie that video is from 2011.. It’s still relevant but this is a more pressing issue

  8. “Jamie that video is from 2011.. It’s still relevant but this is a more pressing issue ”
Yup, but I see it as the same issue: politicians (or aspiring politicians)with balls.

  9. Rock the boat more.
Somehow I feel that is what is still coming.
I have not yet heard any substantial statement from the Donald about climate change.
I wonder how that will go down.

  10. Seems to me that there once was a politician in Great Britain that warned of a global threat that was appearing on the horizon and nobody in power listened to him. I think his name was Winston Spencer Churchill.

  11. Rocking the almost sunken hull, risks capsize.
The linked article starts out well, then fades away.
More lame posturing , my take away sense.
I do not think the political class, our career kleptocrats realize just how POed their hosts are.
The GOP and Democrats so often appear to be same creature, different team.
    Go Trump Go.
A political culture as corrupt as what is now “normal” in North America, needs razed to bedrock and burned again.
    Fearful politicians are honest politicians.

  12. I feel quite strongly that Trump, while not the best man for president in history, could not possibly do worse than Obama.
Indeed, even if he was the biggest crook in all the world, he still couldn’t do worse. A crook is bent on stealing for himself, while Obama appears to be bent on destroying the USA as a world power and impoverishing his constituents.
I’ve been talking about the vast discontent I see whenever I visit the US for seven years now. People randomly and spontaneously start going off in grocery stores, at car shows, everyplace I go down there. Arizona, New York, California even. Random tirades about stuff like the national debt, Benghazi, things people do not normally care about.
That was the wind, sown by politicians since 1964, possibly. My whole adult life certainly. Since Jimmy Carter.
    Trump is the whirlwind.
