   And “embracing our differences” or “celebrating diversity” are not real values – but working hard at a real job, honesty, and not slurping at a government tit are.

4. This is a very thoughtful article on a subject that needs a lot of public discussion but which escapes the shallow mongering of corporate media;
   The author brings up many important points but seems a bit abstract in cause and effect and in solutions.
   In essence free market capitalism, demand economics, free civil society and government which does not intervene in commerce has created a technological affluent culture and enriched more people of all classes that we are the envy of the world -we have many copiers.
   Technological advancement and wide affluence have afforded us time to spend of pursuit of other personal/cultural interests other than working 24/7 for an existence. Howe we spend that time is certainly the test of the soul and intellect of a culture.
   In our culture we seem to spend this time being distracted playing with toys and seeking instant self gratification – we focus so much attention on this that it diverts our efforts from common cultural goals. I believe that politics and particularly leftist politics and progressivism (regressive PC) have arrested our development as a culture by pitting us one against the other with bogus identity politics and control freak governing.
   We should be using the time technology and affluence have afforded us to enhance our knowledge of ourselves and our universe – like how to defend the earth from cosmic cataclysm rather than CO2 or how to colonize the galaxy rather than devising taxes to restrict space travel or even to study how to use the 85% of the human brain we currently leave dormant instead of studying how many sexes we can become.

5. Excellent piece by Sultan Knish.
   It reminded me of how excellent I thought the film Lost in Translation was with Bill Murray and her impossible hotness Scarlet Johansson.
   And no, I didn’t watch the film to salivate over SJ.
   I watched it for the philosophical theme just like how as a teenager I got Playboy for the interviews.
   Me Was Precocious.
   But seriously the film perfectly captures the ennui resulting from the meaninglessness of all that dead end and trivial gadgetry. That ennui is everywhere today. We are all Japan now.

   Yes, a very Jewish sentiment.
   However, the future as envisioned by most governments(our’s included) is a One World Government, that is their goal.
   I would be happy if we were Japan,(or Israel) in that Japan at least is keeping it’s culture and has a zero immigration policy(except for Japanese expats) to ensure that. (just as Israel has a zero immigrant policy except for Jews returning from the Diaspora)

   You are mistaken. It is as though a cuckoo bird has laid it’s egg in the nest of our culture and you mistake it’s parasitic offspring as our own.
   This is not our culture you speak of, it is socialism whose goal is One World Government.
   Socialism/communism is rank materialism. Materialism is necessary to eliminate cultural divisions which are a stumbling block to World Government.
   Do not mistake our culture for the programming of the TV or schools or government agenda.
   True culture comes from the family, the grass roots.
   Culture is bottom up, not top down.
   When you remove the material, all the stuff, how you live with what is left over is culture.
   Take for example the 2013 Flood in Southern Alberta, then compare it to the 2005 Flooding of New Orleans. The difference in how people acted after the material stuff was swept away, was culture.

8. As we all have noted many times empires aren’t murdered, they commit suicide. IMHO the best of times for us was in the 60’s to 90’s when government was much smaller and far less intrusive. Jobs were challenging and so many new avenues were being explored. Teachers taught the core curriculum and discipline, responsibility and the family were paramount. The rise and power of the left has killed this former society in an orgy of guilt, unionism and creating a political class that dominates us today.
   We discuss this with my old cronies at our weekly golf game and all agree we never had it so good and can’t imagine much better than our lives today. The left is determined to destroy this with their white guilt, massive government and destruction of the private sector. When islam, as we see in Europe, arrives in Canada we will be defenceless as the socialist governments have effectively disarmed us both in weapons and more importantly the will to defend our culture and values.
   The court ruling that POS muslim woman could overturn our citizenship ceremony with her niqab is just part of left removing anything that common sense dictates we would rally around.

So if this keeps up, the 22nd century (should there be one) will feature the populations of Arabia, the Levant, India, Africa, South and Southeast Asia, and South America competing for the remnants of the crumbled giants of yore: Europe, North America, Australia, Japan, and China (whose “one child” policy helped them conquer the demographic dive faster than any country in history).
