  1. It’s available in vending machines in Dubai . Kind of like those pressed pennies . But hooked to the internet so the price of gold is updated to the second
1000$ gold bits with the burq Khalifah squeezed onto one side

  2. It is “probably nothing”, because gold is, frankly, BS.
ZeroHedge is to fiscal analysis more or less what FreeRepublic [or Democratic Underground] is to politics.
(If you look closely, of course, it’s “gold for export to South Asia” that’s in short supply in London, not worldwide or anywhere else.)
Any coin shop can get you all the gold you, a normal mortal, can afford, with only shipping delay – if their stock on hand doesn’t fill that need, which is likely.
Need 500,000 dollars worth shipped to China or India? Yeah, that might be a little difficult.
And that does not matter at all.

  3. They cannot find any gold for export.
I guess the massive Welsh and Scottish gold mines are all played out?

  4. True, but you CAN eat what the gold will buy. What an ignorant, unschooled, unthinking comment yours was.

  5. I have been shorting gold for six months and made about 20% plus return. I don’t see any point in going long.
Zero Hedge has been entertaining and it is possible to mine some valuable nuggets from the dross they spew-up. But I do think that if they continue to allow free-reign to the Ron Paul promoters, the conspiracy theory nut-bars and the virulent international Jewish conspiracy bigots – particularly in the comments section – then their days as a blog are numbered.
Some days I wonder if I am reading individual bloggers on ZH or the FSB/Iranian/Islamic State disinformation apparatchiks employed at the Kremlin/Terhan/Raqa. It is becoming difficult to tell the difference…

  6. you can’t eat gold… I cant take it to Safeway or Sobeys and trade it for a loaf of bread or a ribeye either. Other then goldbugs the value is limited. I cant even buy a beer with it at the local tavern. Its a commod with a paper value higher then physical.
