Recent events in France have finally put the nail in the coffin of the philosophical world view of anyone describing themselves as a “progressive” or a “liberal”. In this conversation (podcast) with Charles Adler, the CATO Institute’s Patrick Basham succinctly dissects the phoniness and all encompassing falsehoods that define Leftism in 2015. Here’s one, of many, brilliant things that Basham said (paraphrasing):

Am I the only one to wonder what an average person, who would describe themselves on the Left, would think about the notion of deciding how to react to someone’s views based on their ethnicity, religion, and/or gender? I honestly can’t believe that they would think this is alright. Am I incorrect in my thinking?!?

I would regularly tell the black guy that occasionally came on our ‘crew’ that he knew sheet about football. He would laugh, the rest would glare,… how dare a white guy tell a black man that he doesn’t know football?
He did know more than I, but he was a Tampa Bay fan,and I am a Detroit fan, so we played off each other. The others, for the most part, did not know that we also lived next door to each other and talked about a lot of different stuff.

Oh would that this be true Robert but we all know the sheer egomania which goes with labeling oneself a Prog/Lib will never die as long as there are lazy intellects and their need for effortless moral credulity. Perhaps the political labels will be sullied but the needy neurotics dangerously utopian politics and causes attracts will simply adapt new labeling to their preening moralism – in much the same way simply being afraid of carbon or climate makes you a scientist or environmentalist.
The moralist labels are a banner used to camouflage some of the most meritless people/ideologies and agendas – it has worked for eons – and as long as the zombie horde focus on the noise and images on the big screen instead of the pathetic little man behind the curtain it is a winning strategy for making people feel good about embracing ideas which are morally vacant and self destructive.

The Left makes common-cause with Islamists because that’s their only hope for winning. Communism has collapsed as a world movement, and socialism is just a slower poison. The number of democracies is growing, and the economies of free-enterprise democracies are growing faster than totalitarian regimes.
The Soviets were the first modern sponsors of Islamic terrorism. The KGB taught them how to hijack airliners. Befriending an Islamist is like rescuing a spotted hyena from starvation. When it grows stronger it will eat you.
This is the simple reality of Islam. It encourages killing in the name of Allah. Allah is pleased by this killing. Muslims do not have any choices about this. If the Koran requires it, then all Muslims must do it. Some key quotations:

Koran 9:29 Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued (meaning they are humiliated and ruled by Islam)
Koran 33:36 It is not fitting for a believer, man or woman, when a matter has been decided by Allah and his Messenger to have any option about their decision: if any one disobeys Allah and his Messenger, he is indeed on a clearly wrong path.

These passages are straight, mainstream Muslim theology. Nothing in the Koran conflicts with these passages. In contrast, nothing in the Bible, New or old Testament, orders Jews or Christians to “Wipe the infidels out to the last.”
