12 dead in an attack on a satirical magazine;
Two masked gunmen stormed the offices of the controversial publication, which has previously been attacked over its portrayal of the Prophet Mohammed.
They were armed with Kalashnikov rifles and are also believed to have had a rocket-propelled grenade.[…]
It is reported both the publication’s editor and lead cartoonist were among those killed, as well as two police officers.
Some 20 people have also been injured, at least four seriously.
A manhunt is under way for the gunmen, who escaped after a shootout in the street with police.
Shocking footage has emerged of a wounded police officer being shot in the head as he lies on the ground, holding his hands up.
The killers then calmly return to their getaway car, which was later found abandoned.

I agree. Conservatives should not act or speak like liberals do toward Conservatives and Christians, or like Marxists who make anyone who does not agree with their communistic world view as “enemies of the people”.
We are all quite upset about these acts. Some of our upset feelings, as well as being against the animal terrorists, are towards the liberal political correctness, mindset that does not want to recognize the mortal danger that militant Islam poses. We are also upset that so-called moderate Muslims are very reluctant to speak out against their radical brothers. Do even moderates have the same endgame of world domination? I think so.

I have read about a dozen articles on this attack in Paris so far, but not a mention of who the ”gunmen” are,though one article mentioned that one of the gunmen yelled it was in revenge for the insult to Mohammed. Could be these are disgruntled boxing fans who are pissed off over the former Champ’s medical condition.
Perhaps the media is trying to convey they fact that firearms are the problem, and if we had no firearms, this type of attack by unknown ”gunmen” would not occur.

I agree that these people are insane and can’t be reasoned with, but what is the solution? I don’t have any qualms with a hawkish approach so long as it works, but I really don’t think these people can logically be bombed into submission. Terrorism proves that you only need a small handful of nuts to pull this stuff off and most of them are not afraid of dying because of their subscription to the fairy tale. What card do we have left then? “You better stop or we’ll kill you!”? They don’t care about that. It’s a hard truth perhaps, but it would seem that a better course is a multi-generational cultivation of better relations between the west and the Muslim world as much as that doesn’t provide immediate satisfaction.
While their governments are not always ideal, there are relatively moderate Muslim states and there are indeed moderate Muslims. The percentage of fanaticism is higher than other creeds, sure, but it’s still a minority. We need to leverage the rational majority and work with them to prevent their people from being lured into the fringe. It’s a pragmatic and realistic way of dealing with a problem that won’t submit to military intervention.

That is one of the great potential benefits of the law permitting the revocation of citizenship to immigrants who engage in acts detrimental to Canada. As I understand it in places like Florida an accomplice to a murder is charged for murder regardless as to whether or not they physically killed the victim. Simply being an accomplice to the person who did pull the trigger is enough to convict.

When I lived in Surrey 8 years ago, the neighbourhood public swimming pool used to paper over the windows so that Muslims (who had a day set aside for their women to swim) would not be observed by us heathens. The Telegraph is reporting that the three killers have been identified: Two brothers named Saïd and Cherif Kouachi, aged 24 and 32, who were both French born, and Hamyd Mourad, whose nationality is unknown at this time.
The two brothers, who were of Algerian descent, returned from Syria last summer.

Foucault (2:30 PM), anyone who says “deport all Muslims!” isn’t being realistic, obviously, and your question “how do you propose to implement that?” would be a reasonable response to any such suggestion.
The idea that immigration from certain Muslim countries should be curbed or severely limited for a few years, or decades, though, is not only reasonable, but advisable.
For the time being, bringing over more Muslims from Pakistan, for example, makes no sense whatsoever — except to people who have been browbeaten/propagandized by progressive proscriptions against criticizing the exotic “other”. Being realistic about who does and doesn’t belong in the West has nothing to do with racism, and everything to do with belief systems.
Certain attitudes and world-views are completely anathema to western liberal society, and anyone who is unable or unwilling to even begin to acknowledge this fact shouldn’t be taken any more seriously than the “nuke Mecca!” or “deport all Muslims!” people.
You talk about “knee-jerk” conservatives, and there are some, but those who reflexively parrot multicultural proscriptions against simply making realistic judgements about cultural incompatibility tend also to do so in a “knee-jerk” fashion, and frankly there’s a lot more of those people in the west than there are the “bomb Mecca!” types — I’d put it at about a thousand to one.
