Terror In Paris

12 dead in an attack on a satirical magazine;

Two masked gunmen stormed the offices of the controversial publication, which has previously been attacked over its portrayal of the Prophet Mohammed.
They were armed with Kalashnikov rifles and are also believed to have had a rocket-propelled grenade.[…]
It is reported both the publication’s editor and lead cartoonist were among those killed, as well as two police officers.
Some 20 people have also been injured, at least four seriously.
A manhunt is under way for the gunmen, who escaped after a shootout in the street with police.
Shocking footage has emerged of a wounded police officer being shot in the head as he lies on the ground, holding his hands up.
The killers then calmly return to their getaway car, which was later found abandoned.

Probably mental illness.

  1. From das Steynmeister:
“Charb, Cabu, Tignous, Georges Wolinski and the others who died today were braver men than the stunted eunuchs who dominate the west’s political class.”

  2. Thanks, EBD…Journalists enjoying creating controversy….like the Canadian liberal media frothing at the mouth over Harper’s pocketing or not pocketing a communion wafer. CTV uses headlines as incendiary tools, but CTV would never have the GUTS to publish Charlie Hebdo cartoons.

  3. Time to bring Madame Guillotine our of mothballs.
Time for the French to remind the muzzies that they’re not the only ones who know how to behead.

  4. Well, I dunno very much, and I have no idea about the Le Pens, nor, certainly, about French politics, but by my estimation the best comments came from Marine Le Pen:
“Time’s up for denial and hypocrisy”…”The absolute rejection of Islamic fundamentalism must be proclaimed loudly and clearly.”

As Mark Steyn has said, inter alia, the first defence of freedom is speaking up about what you don’t like about what’s going on.
Note, please, the headline: as if the “Islamic card” is, you know, some kind of ace-in-the-hole (sort of like George Strait’s band, which is/was, certainly, for him).
I also appreciate, very much, Ms. Le Pen’s position on euthanasia: what kind of person does it take to actually do that, in respect of other people?
At any rate, I mourn for the dead, and I pray for the injured.

  5. From Drudge: Susects from the broad strata of society.
Two police officials named the three suspects as Frenchmen Said Kouachi and Cherif Kouachi, who are brothers and in their early 30s, as well as 18-year-old Hamyd Mourad, whose nationality wasn’t immediately clear. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren’t authorized to publicly discuss the sensitive and ongoing investigation.
Cherif Kouachi was convicted in 2008 of terrorism charges for helping funnel fighters to Iraq’s insurgency, and sentenced to 18 months in prison. During his 2008 trial, he told the court he was motivated by his outrage at television images of torture of Iraqi inmates at the U.S. prison at Abu Ghraib.

  6. I think the French gov response will be significantly more muscular than chanting ” Je suis Charlie ”

  7. We are Canadians. We are the most dangerous people on Earth.
Gawd, talk about melodramatic. haha Can’t be too dangerous, the US protects us.

  8. I’m expecting to see the French Police and army standing guard at mosques and muslim cultural centers to prevent the islamaphobic back lash. I am not being sarcastic either.

  9. When they hold up, with those placards, copies of the cartoons that they have printed, THEN I will be convinced that there is change.

  10. I heard on the radio that PM Harper and Mulcair condemned the attacks and offered their condolences. Trudeau offered his condolences. Anyone see the difference?

  11. Obama will file this under workplace violence. He would never put Muslim and terrorist in the same speech, and we know there will be a statement coming from his office. Yup….damn that workplace violence.

  12. Harkov ?
    “yes”
    Agreed.
Any ME/NA Muslim country I’ve been too along with Hindu India has asked to state my “Religion” on work/ entry visa’s. With India I’ve always stated “Rastafarian” knowing it would not land me in jail for a few days.
    Not so much with ME/NA.

  13. Completely agree, Phantom. The state likes good sheeple who won’t do anything on their own. In the old days, when people handled things themselves, an incident like this would either be handled by armed locals passing by or a large spontaneously organized posse. There are very good reasons for having an armed population who are far better shots than the majority of police.

  14. A small detail…
Some news reportage (I heard it on internet radio, http://www.wabcradio.com ) is including the information that the men and women in Paris were separated prior to being murdered.
It rings a bell, from the terrorist partially raised by his muslim father, Marc Lepine.

  15. NBC News: “Because the masked, black-clad gunmen attacked with militaristic precision and left the scene with shouts of ‘Allahu Akbar,’ the killers were suspected to be well-trained Islamic extremists.”
Our moral And intellectual superiors indeed.

  16. Yet another prelude to the slow motion build up to the European civil war with liberals (supporting diversity) and Muslims pitted against normal rational people.
My expectation is that the war will truly be under way by about 2030. I say 15 years out because it seems to be taking a lot for Europeans to realize their future is at stake. Even today AP – a.k.a. Jihad apologists – argued that the Mo cartoon should not have been published.

  17. Nobody has slagged the ‘cheese eating surrender monkey’ more than I. The French however are fully capable of a determined push back. I expect it will happen

  18. But as shown today, my money is on the Jihadis – they are serious, and know how to put a cluster on target on the dead run…
No need to run when your victims are unarmed; like shooting fish in a barrel.

  19. Yeah well the scuttlebutt, I’m gettin’ from the old boy net….is that the French are entering the “no go zones”, in battalion strength….

  20. Where is media ‘darling’ Syed Sowahardy ?
He usually shows up after terrorist attacks to assure the hand-wringers that Islam does not have anything to do with terrorism.
Could it be because this man (who’s Islamic Supreme Council only represents about 2% of imans in Canada) tried to have Ezra Levant thrown in jail for publishing cartoons of Mohammed?
    ~((:-(>>
Mo fell down and wants to go boom.

  21. Well said @ 5:08, and some stirring photos @ 5:15. Hopefully these people remember this the next time they vote for national leaders.
Knight @ 2:57, exactly. The Liberals of today are so infected with Marxist people control that they do not recognize what true liberal democracy is any longer.
Most of our politicians being “stunted eunuchs” is so perfect a description.
sasquatch @ 10:15, hopefully that scuttlebut has legs. High time France took back its country.

  22. WTF…am I missing something, or did this Foucault troll just suggest we conservatives ought to be worried that we have a “bad rep” with leftists? What frickin’ planet are you from, assclown? 😀

  23. Word is that Eric Holder is headed to Paris Sunday.
Holder is to peace like Al Gore is to weather…..

  24. “sasquatch @ 10:15, hopefully that scuttlebut has legs. High time France took back its country.”
Scuttlebutt is scuttlebutt but the French government has announced deploying 200 paras around the greater Paris.
