In a completely unforeseen turn of events, it seems Germans prefer Germans to be German:
A record 17,000 people have joined the latest in a string of demonstrations against Islam in Dresden, eastern Germany, celebrating the rise of their far-right populist movement by singing Christmas carols.
The march on Monday night was organised by Patriotic Europeans Against Islamisation of the West – a group that has grown rapidly since its first protest in October.
Politicians from all major parties have been stunned by the emergence of the right-wing nationalists who vent their anger against what they consider a broken immigration and asylum system.

sorry, wrong topic
How do you turn the other cheek when you head is laying in the ditch? (paraphrasing a commenter to the original article)
And who labelled these people as “far right”? Most likely the far left.
Exactly. And the Grauniad is indeed far left. They have nothing to say about the politics of the Pegida movement other than it is anti-islamic. They could otherwise be raging socialists, for all we know.
They probably *are* socialist.
But these are the same people that label the National Socialist German Worker’s Party (i.e., Nazis) as ‘right-wing’. You know, the party that ran on a platform of nationalizing all corporations, free healthcare, and condemning ‘materialism’.
Sounds like Tea Partiers to me!
People are fed up with muslim gangs raping non-muslim women because their ‘leaders’ preach it’s OK to lie-to, rape, and kill non-believers. Those barbaric actions will not be tolerated in the 21st century. This push-back against muslim depravity is just the beginning.
Far-left, far-right labels are inconsequential, and miss the point. We shouldn’t care what ‘side’ of the political spectrum is pushing back against muslims.
The reason the people are marching under the banners of the “extremist parties” is that none of the “mainstream parties” are willing to control immigration. When you are being harassed in the streets, blown up and mow down by maniacs in a market, and your wives and daughters are being raped; political “extremism” is not very extreme.
Wonder why UKIP is growing? They think immigration is a problem, and want to do something about it.
Wonder why the GOP did not take 3-4 more US Senate seats in November? Boehner and McConnell want open borders as much as Obama. Conservative voters know it, and many stayed home.
Watch LePen in France. Her party maybe fascist, but she will draw a lot of voters next time, unless the other parties change their policies.
This is of course, the rise of German nationalism – the predictable backlash to EU policies for homogenization of culture in Europe.
Borders, language, tradition and culture, the common glue of a nation and people – things which must be destroyed for the EU socialist Uber-state to rise.
The EU social engineers purposely opened the flood gates of immigration to cultures which were totally incompatible and irreconcilable with European/western culture to accelerate the homogenization process. Of course, like all utopian socialists, they underestimated the strength of western nationalist tradition and resistance to cultural repression in the Tutonic psyche. Now national pride is rising in revolt in response to subordination of its culture.
The last time this happened after Germans were subjugated by Brussels globalists pillaging their nation and destroying its traditions, Hitler rose to power – could there be a modern doppelganger? I hope not, I hope Germans regain their nationality without radical political upheaval. I hope they succeed from the EU before they are devoured by the Brussels spider.
lets send TurD’oH over there for some lessons
Exactly.
From the article, “Chancellor Angela Merkel has cautioned Germans against falling prey to any form of xenophobic “rabble-rousing”, while other lawmakers have deplored the new “pin-striped Nazis”.
In the short video clip there was a black security guard wearing a Santa hat in front of the speaker and the speaker was talking about the Judeo-Christian heritage. The leftist media and the left-wing parties consider themselves the mainstream and natural governing parties, and consider anyone who does not agree with them as being far-right.
Hopefully this movement gains enough traction in mainland Europe and in Great Britain to turn the tide. And at the same time gets rid of the EU socialist dictatorship.
It’s too late. Europe is gone.

They may be ‘far right’ if you consider your definition to be someone who wants to keep things the same as they were. Europe used to be like a large scale folkfest. Just look at any encyclopedia from the 1960’s. They were each a homogeneous culture. Unfettered immigration is like adding Menthos to Pepsi.
I was in the former East Germany in 2006. I knew several young men who were waiting for the chance to form a new Sturmabteilung, and rid Germany once and for all of Turks, Russians and other undesirable Auslaenders. They told me they still respected their Waffen SS great uncles and grandfathers, and were itching to fight for the Vaderland against the foreign invasion. Pretty scary, really – I don’t know if they were just pulling my leg, but I got the sense they were deadly serious.
Germany is the wrong country for Muslim immigrants to pick as their next target for conversion to Islam.
No actually, the labels are hardly “inconsequential”. In fact, they are central to the matter. The left plays with language. They use words like “progressive” to describe constant leftist intrustion into the lives of citizens. The word sounds so positive and that is the message that slowly seeps into the mind of people who hear it over and over. Another more recent example is the use of the word “dreamers” to describe illegal aliens in the U.S. “Dreamers” sounds much softer, fuzzier and more positive than “illegal aliens”, doesn’t it?
The labels are exceptionally important and should be pushed back on at every opportunity.
The news media lowlife reptiles will be calling them Nazis for opposing muslim radicals in their country
“….stunned….”, were they? Apparently blind and deaf, too!
NOT QUITE ON TOPIC
In Turkey the “moderate” muslim government is busy suppressing liberals. Coming soon to a country near you.
There isn’t much “moderate” about Turkey any more. Within another generation, at most, it will have sunk fully into Islamism. Its demographics & birth rates make it inevitable.
Heh. One of the best comments:
“These people need to learn how to frame the debate. Just say you are for “indigenous rights.”
We all love indigenous rights, eh? ”
“Germany is the wrong country for Muslim immigrants to pick as their next target for conversion to Islam.”
Every country in the free world has been targeted by Islam. Only countries like Cuba are free from the diabolicle mind controlling opiate that is Islam.

These are no win circumstances for Germans. Whatever they do, they will be damned.
If they go on with the disapprovals, they will be damned as being neo-Nazis, even if they are not.
If they don’t they will be eaten by the mohamedans.
Take your pick.
Bad situation all around whichever way but loose.
Don’t take the ‘labels’ comment out of context. I specifically related it to pushing back against the muslim invasion. The resistance to muslim immigrants is more important; not whether it’s ‘right’ or ‘left’. Don’t fixate on labels and miss the importance of the actions.
one’s enemy must always be identified and destroyed.
actually, the labels are hardly “inconsequential”.
Yes they are. Labels are merely an oversimplification of complex political and social processes. People who get caught up in labeling miss the important points.
Be specific, don’t label. Labels are for jars.
one’s enemy must always be identified and destroyed.
MUSLIMS
“Far-left, far-right labels are inconsequential, and miss the point.”
The point is that Muslim immigration, indeed all unfettered immigration, is a Leftist policy. Conservative policy has historically ,traditionally, been low carefully targeted immigration, even anti-immigration at times.
The reason for open unfettered immigration being a Leftist policy is that the International Communist set of the Left, is anti-tradition and anti-nationalist. They are, get this, Internationalists.
I thought the neo-nazis were the Muslims that claim Hitler hadn’t gone far enough.
Lev i wouldrather be judged by 12 than carried by 6….same sentiment here, i would rather fight and shed blood defending my life and be hated by others than to capitulate and offer my neck to the would be masters…or better yet be offered up to the muzzies by the “progressives”!!
He doesn’t get it Oz. Doesn’t want to get it. Just wants somebody to hate. Behold the face of every war in history.
Truth is if Germany cut off welfare to all the non-natives, all these Turks and whatnot would wander off home on their own. Who doesn’t want to do that? Lefties.
Mooselimbs are just as much suckers as everybody else. They’ve been sucked in worse if anything, now they live surrounded by a hostile population of the most dangerous people on Earth, and they’re being used as the reason everybody has to lose more of their rights and taxes have to go up.
Leftists are the Enemy. Big Government is the Enemy. Conservatives, to the extent we are fighting for smaller government and not to use Big Government as a club to force moral behavior, are the solution. Anybody says different is either a useful idiot or is working for them. Or both, in this case.
And that will be the ultimate irony given that the Nazis were aligned with the Muslim world in WWII.
No, John. Labels are absolutely essential in these sorts of situations. Because labels are language and language is used to make your point. It is absolutely essential to fight back on all leftist labels because they are designed for one thing and one thing only…..to mislead people. A perfect example is the nonsensical word “homophobe”. The word has no purpose other than to mislead people. There is no such clinical affliction of “homophobia”. The word was created by a gay psychologist who then gay publication editors to use the word. It’s purpose is to imply that anyone who doesn’t agree with their agenda has some kind of mental condition.
Labels are absolutely essential to the left and it is imperative that they be revealed every single time so their lexicon doesn’t gain traction.
And I am not quite sure about that. Europe as she is now will not last, that is certain, but what will emerge remains yet to be seen. It will not be nice and certainly not something that the great social engineers of today would approve but I would discount euros completely. Euros may now seem like helpless nanny state addicts unable to rise up… but when things get sufficiently bad things will change rather quickly, and the broad strata of society may find itself on a receiving end of those changes. Both sides (or more sides) will probably be equally reprehensible but the end result is far from predictable. Yes, as Mark Steyn has pointed out “demographics is a game of last man standing” but euros do have experience in reversing demographic trends in rather spectacular manner.
“Far Right Extremest” is a label reserved for white people who have any amount of Nationalist pride.
This of course does not apply to any non white race that cares deeply about their country, culture, or heaven forbid R@ce.
The point is that Muslim immigration, indeed all unfettered immigration, is a Leftist policy.
The point is that Muslim immigration, indeed all unfettered immigration, is a BAD policy. It doesn’t matter if it’s ‘left’, ‘right’ or ‘center’. ALL governments that promote it are acting wrongly. Our so-called conservative government hasn’t done anything to stop it, and they’re supposedly ‘right’. So by your belief does that mean our conservative government is implementing “Leftist policy” ?
It would seem that certain Galt here is a provocateur.
Could be a policeman.
Could be Canadian intelligence agency or some such.
Could be a writer for the Sun newspapers.
Could be the guy that makes money pretending to be insulted and takes his case to the shadowy HRC chambers.
Could also be a knucklehead that likes to heat the debate and steer it the wrong way.
Could be.
What he can’t be is freethinker or even an ordinary thinker.
Can’t be
“Could be Canadian intelligence agency or some such.”
Nope, that job requires… intelligence.
I have heard from two Europeans of my acquaintance that relatives of theirs have been assaulted ( breasts fondled ) by Mohammedans in European cities. If this is widespread, the natural reaction would be to expel them and forbid further Islamic immigration, at the very least. These people in Germany should be lauded for their peaceful approach to resolving the problem: notice, no Muslims have been injured. Let’s hope the so called mainstream parties, or at least one, will heed the wishes of their countrymen on this.
It would seem that certain Galt here is a provocateur.
Damn right. Thanks for the compliment.
provocateur — a person who deliberately behaves controversially in order to provoke argument or other strong reactions
We can lead people to knowledge, but we can’t make them think.
The real John Galt was a Scots writer, businessman & social/political commentator who lived 1779-1839. NOT the character in “Atlas Shrugged”. I’m carrying on his fine tradition. If that bothers you, don’t read my comments.
“The real John Galt was a Scots writer, businessman & social/political commentator who lived 1779-1839.”
As if a twit like you would even know the name if it weren’t for Ayn Rand.
“Personal insults are the last resort of exhausted minds”. ~Pat Buchanan.
Now go get some sleep; you’ll feel better in the morning. Cheers…
“I’m carrying on his fine tradition”
And that’s why you commented 2 years or so as north-0f-60, so that you could carry on the fine tradition of the original John Galt. Pfft.
As I said earlier, you’re a twit who never would have known the name but for Ayn Rand.
I’m all for John Galt putting a warning label on his comments, “contains North of 60 thinking, must change handle as people clue in”. Honestly, must you thread-bomb everything?
I have to take part of my previous message back. The thread-bombing occurred in the last couple of messages, but stopped and went down to single-responses for subsequent items. Right is right, and consistency is important. Which is part of why I try to avoid John of 60’s comments.
“So by your belief does that mean our conservative government is implementing “Leftist policy”?”
implement
VERB: to put (a decision, plan, agreement, etc.) into effect
No, our conservative government did not implement Leftist policy.
They are continuing this Leftist implemented policy, because discontinuing it could throw the conservatives out of office with the result being that the Leftists would again implement the same policy, but NO the conservatives did not implement it.
I’m sure the distinction eludes you.
If the Left could not regain power and then implement the policy of unfettered immigration once again, the conservatives would have a targeted immigration policy instead that would serve Canada’s best interests rather than this unfettered immigration policy which is only about buying votes and has nothing to do with serving the national interest through targeting the type of immigrants we might actually need.
I would say the CPC is ever-so-sloooowly cutting back the idiot Liberal policy of inviting in every lowlife goat herder/dope smuggler/stripper/unemployable doofus the world has to offer, simply because such people don’t vote CPC. That this is good for the country is a happy coincidence.
Such happy coincidences are the reason we vote CPC.
The reason they are doing it slowly is of course the media, who would have a “RAAAAAAACIST!!!” conniption given the slightest excuse.
I approve of the CPC approach. We didn’t get here in a day, we’re not going to fix it in a day either.
One “L” in labled….
It’s always the far left…..it’s a verbal hand grenade like racism…..hence over used and largely irrelevant.
It identifies the accuser more than the subject.
