  1. In Regards to the “related” post. It is no surprise to me that Obamislam is totally concerned
with the Muslim world even if he doesn’t realise they would eliminate him as fast as any one else..

  2. No, not related. That big glow above the rocket right at liftoff is not supposed to happen. It was as bright as the rocket exhaust. That suggests a huge capacitive discharge, and it looks like it set off the solid rocket engines in some of the payload upper stages. Hopefully the launch pad isn’t too badly damaged.

  3. HEEEE, Heeee, Heeeeeeeeee…………..
    Going up in………..greenhouse gasses?????

  4. That glow looked like lens flare to me ? It wasn’t visible later from other angles.
    Gravity won today.

  5. WRT the “related”, you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to be a Palestinian, but it will get you instant tenure at their so called institutes of higher learning. Retirement arrangements not so attractive.

  6. Engines made in Putin-stan, complete first stage made in the Ukraine.
    What could possibly go wrong?
Oh well, at least NASA still have their Glowbull Warming scam and muzzie outreach program.
Is there nothing that president Obola can’t do?

  7. Russian rocket engines have been rock solid for many years.
Perhaps the fault that caused the explosion lies elsewhere.

  8. No wonder America can no longer put a man in Space. They have to rely on Putin to do that.
    Thanks to Barry……

  9. Only partly true. Let’s be blunt, every administration back to Nixon has neglected the man in space program.

  10. And this was not a NASA vehicle. It was built by Orbital. Orbital, not Obama, has some explaining to do.

  11. NO, hydrazine was NOT INVOLVED.
First stage is “safer” kerosene and LOX–proven technology.
Question, was the 24 hour delay caused by a sailboat wandering into the ocean under the flight path a factor. With the delay there was a 24+ hour cooling, warming, cooling cycle of the pumps and motors as well as refueling involved.

  12. We really won’t know until they’ve analyzed the telemetry and all video cameras. That glow could indeed be lens flare. The burn-through on the side (left side when viewed from camera 12) is not lens flare.

  13. Yeah well, not that I know anything but it is typical of a turbo-pump explosion.
These things were developed initial by Goddard (US rocket pioneer) and the key component that made the V2 rockets work.
Basically they are turbine motors fueled by the rocket fuel to drive turbo pumps to feed the main engine. Typically there are two….one for the LOX and one for the kerosene. These turbo pumps are high horsepower(up to 250,000hp) devices…pumping the fuel at high pressure and high volume.

  14. The Germans made extensive use of hydrazine(S stoff) in combination with high test hydrogen peroxide(T stoff)…..which ignite/explode on contact.
This made their rocket planes extremely hazardous mounts…often exploding when fueled, or on landing…residue in fuel tanks or spills….Any surface/piping in contact with (T stuff) had to be surgically clean…any oil or grease and boom.
However, the V2 rocket used alcohol and LOX.
Post war the Brits and Soviets experimented with this stuff….an experimental ST torpedo for example destroyed a submarine….the Soviets never deployed any ST devices….
