    “I’ve been fired from the CBC because of the risk of my private sex life being made public as a result of a campaign of false allegations pursued by a jilted ex girlfriend and a freelance writer.”
    So it looks like the writer in the post that northernont linked to *is* part of the story. Or creepazoid *wants* us to think she is…

You’d think that with such “progressive” declarations as “sexual preferences are a human right” Gomeshi would be celebrated by the CBC, and possibly given a raise… this is going to get ugly.

  6. I’ve hated Ghomeshi since the hit piece he did on Ayaan Hirsi Ali about 7 or 8 years ago. She comes into the studio with him and it’s pretty obvious to everybody but him who the brains in the studio is that day.

  7. I have heard his show Q about 3 or 4 times on radio late night rerun … I thought he was excellent at his job. I may not want to have a beer with him nor would I agree with his politics, but let’s give credit where it’s due … Ghomeshi was an excellent interviewer.
    With any luck, he will move south and work for one of the far left networks … he will do well down there. I think he may be washed up in Canada.
    CBC may be wrong here and G may win a lot of dough in the end. I hope he takes CBC to the cleaners …. this is mother in law going over the cliff in your new car.

    In all honesty, this is one of those times where a progressive has no winning side.
    Support the CBC that icon of publically funded broadcasting, or support a piece of progressive eye candy for the cougar set from salacious accusations of sexual assault.

    Its ironic that some of them are even demanding CBC be shut down.

  23. Taking what’s been released as true (ha ha), one thing the posters here may not be aware of is that the BDSM community in Toronto is extremely hardcore. I’ve seen experienced kinksters from San Francisco come away from Toronto publicly accessible parties white with shock. I’ve never seen anything nonconsensual, but descriptions of what goes on at some of these parties would be career-ending for the most progressive hipster.

    But considering that there’s no sexual practice that I ever heard the CBC criticize, I can’t understand what he could possibly do (other than paedophilia and I don’t believe that about him) that would make a difference to them.

  28. He was ‘John’ back at York University because he didn’t think a white guy like me could pronounce his exotic name. I found it a bit offensive the way he explained that but then spoke to him a little more and realized he wasn’t all that bright. It’s more difficult to be offended by the genuinely ‘not too bright’ people, he was doing his best to be a good little PC kind of boy at the time.

Let me see if I can understand it all …this fellow’s antics appear to be so terrible that they fall well beyond those of a politician, who later wished to be prime minister, and involved an underage? girl brought into the country who was working in a tawdry massage parlour.     I know JG’s actions must be that serious as the Star says they should be revealed in the media.

From what I read in the Toronto Star I suspect the CBC was acting according to the standard that was set by the NFL when they suspended the jerk football player who cold cocked his girlfriend in the elevator. IF indeed the Toronto Star’s article is true then the CBC was correct in what it did because in that article it is alleged that Gian “Hate F____d” three women and desired to do another.

The first thing I thought when I heard of this (and after reading his overly verbal gutspill on Facebook after a work colleague liked his post) was: Yeah, and the first thing an innocent person does when wrongfully fired is hire a PR firm. The second thing I thought was, “50 million for a lawsuit for wrongful dismissal? What do you think this is, the United States?”.
    I’ll enjoy watching the cannibalistic left gulping down one of their own.

  45. I’d prefer to wait for some facts before conjecturing. I did watch the Hirsi Ali interview and while JG is definitely a liberal, Ali got her points out and I thought Ghomeshi did a decent good job.
    As for the firing of a CBC employee, in general? One down, several thousand more to go.
