        1. Friendly prioritizes antì-Quebec feelings over tactical support for innocent farm families seeing their livelihood taken away. My worry is that the miniscule small-c conservative moment lacks the funds or the organizational strength to help the farmers. One should watch how Rebel news handles this. Ezra Levant (1) knows opportunities when they arise and (2) realizes that battles are won in the streets and roads, and not at indoor banquets or closed-door rooms. Rebel News knows enough to employ a francophone news-woman, which should give the farmers help. Also there are two conservative law charities which could give legal help. Let’s see if conservatives lend a hand here.

  1. its playing out like the time TURDeau 1.0 seized 100s of acres east of LIBERALAND TRANNA planning a huge airport. https://tc.canada.ca/en/initiatives/pickering-lands
that never happened. farmers were allowed to ‘buy it back’ at HUGELY inflated prices (ie ***missing out*** in increased property values) lm sure a LOT of the rich farm land was ‘ploughed under’ for housing.

and STILL they continue to VOTE for this for the last sixty godam YEARS and more.
LIBERALISM is clearly a deeply entrenched aspect of the ‘post national state’s’ culture and politics.
media, education, economics, language, law. looks like we are truly and inescapably scaREWED

    1. Mirabel was better. The government seized nearly 98,000 acres of land in Mirabel to build six runways and create a huge agricultural and industrial noise buffer.

  2. the beauty of it is, KAYBECK IS LONG TRADITIONALLY PART OF LIBERALAND
aka ‘getting what they voted for, up the arse, good and hard’.

    1. “Maybe queerbec should just separate from le canada.”

I’d vote “YES!!!” this time. Unless there was a “HELL YES!!!” option.

And I’d do it just to hear the Elbow People screaming. I want to see them running before me, and hear the lamentation of their women.

  3. Not sure what apparatus is used in Canada, but in the US, I’m convinced that the high speed rail project in California was nothing more than a land grab, and massive misdirection of federal (and state) funds to non-related social projects. It looks more and more like that everyday.

In 2013, California started applying eminent domain to gobble of generational farms, high value property and privately owned property. Since they started doing so, they have acquired over 800 separate properties. At the same time, they’ve done a minimal amount to complete the high speed rail project. It’s been well over a decade and the only thing accomplished is stealing private property.

I tend to think the next step will be to nix the project altogether and then sell off the high value properties to crony developers. It’s not like California doesn’t have a history of doing that.

    1. So far, the only thing accomplished in Canada is to give “performance bonuses” to the bloated board of directors over this boondoggle, which board includes the wife of our erstwhile (and basically retarded) finance minister. No conflict of interest is too great that the voters of central and eastern Canada will change their minds about the forever ruling party.

  4. I like putting names to faces…so who exactly are consortium members of ALTO?
Air Canada, SNCF Voyageurs, Keolis, CDPQ Infra, AtkinsRéalis, and SYSTRA.

When you do a dive into Atkins Realist…things start making sense.

    1. l see 2 major problems with that.
first, the bridges arent finished, second, even far worse, *** who says wildlife will —learn— to cross this noisy lit up ‘thing’ underneath them *** and instead shun it entirely? maybe it would ONLY work if the thing was like 2 km wide and more or less *isolate* the sights and sound better?
ah, but the ‘experts’ were put in charge l bet . . . .

  5. It isn’t just the K-bec manure spreaders who are pissed.
Say what you want about farmers and I bet much is true, but it is a completely different life than what city people live.
The city people who think food comes from the store – or the brown man in the shitty car. (That electricity comes from the switch thingy and water from the tap. And that their shit just disappears down the toilet.)

But you gotta go down a very, very dark road to take on the Forever Government and win.
I’m not advocating, just stating the obvious.

  6. This Alto bullshit could be stopped dead in its tracks – before it hits the tracks – by blubber douggie. But he’s sniffing bobblehead’s arse.

About 2 months ago there were headlines that 8 or 10 of blubber douggie’s rural MPPs had sent bobblehead a letter objecting to the project. But the only real objection in the letter referred to the “insufficient” public consultation — there was no mention of the absolute uselessness of the project or the mega-billion dollar pissaway. In other words, the letter was a paper tiger designed for one cynical purpose: to give the false impression that blubber douggie was onside with the rural folks and that he was doing his damndest to get it stopped.

I have some advice for those good folks who want this idiocy stopped: turn your efforts and attention to your Conservative MPPs. Tell them in plain language, “You and your government better get this stopped ASAP, or you will lose our support in the next election.”
