  1. It is amazing that FGM practice is actually increasing in this so-called “enlightened age”….if anything modernity is enabling it not suppressing it.
Witness the popularity of the male version in our society….circumcision of male infants for no credible clinical benefit…..
Male circumcision is a minor mutilation by comparison….to FMG…..
FMG is more closely comparable to castration…..a practice outlawed by the Romans.

  2. Complete historecctomy would be more helpful.
Sort of like borax on an ant colony.
Or, how about a huge dollop of feminism.
It is facinating to see such a primitive cultipure be respected by so many on the left.
Those mislim women are either insne or slaves … We know the men are nuts.

  3. There must be a hashtag for this.
Instead of treating this gingerly (read: with apprehension borne of political correctness), treat this abomination as one would had the girls not been Muslim at all. Mutilate a child, rot in prison for ten years. Are there hotlines for this?
Sadly, this extra vigilance is precedent set for governmental intrusion in other circumstances.

  4. Isn’t it illegal to crop ears and dock the tails of dogs in the UK?
Yeah, if a lay person does it, it’s illegal and if a veterinarian does it and can’t justify it within certain extremely narrow cause, then they lose their licence to practice veterinary medicine and are busted down to lay person status.
Same at least should happen to medical doctors in UK, minimum, and sexual child abuse charges should be mandatory.
At the very least, that should make the Muslim barbarians feel unwelcome.

  5. It is estimated that 110,000 defenceless, innocent pre-born babies are at the risk of being aborted in Canada annually.
Matthew 7 King James Version (KJV)
Judge not, that ye be not judged.
For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

  6. Gee, I wonder if there is some link, some common factor, that might explain all these mutilations? The Grauniad sure is coy about that, aren’t they?

  7. “…Same at least should happen to medical doctors in UK…”
Certainly if MDs in U.K. aren’t already prohibited doing these mutilations they should be, but don’t assume MDs are the only ones doing them nor that all the mutilations of UK resident girls take place in the UK. Some girls are taken or sent out of the country on “vacations” to have it done. So the focus of enforcement and the weight of punishment should be upon the parents or guardians who fail to prevent mutilation of their girls. Prison sentences should be the norm, and in the case of immigrants, an undertaking not to do it should be a condition of granting entry, residence, and citizenship so that breach of such undertaking is grounds for deportation and revocation of citizenship.

  8. A few years back, there was an article in the local paper about a woman who showed up at an ER for treatment. When the doctor saw her nether regions, his first reaction was to think she had been burned in a fire. Her clitoris and labia had been sawed off, leaving a ghastly scar. Perhaps if something like this was shown on the 6 o’clock news, it might make more of an impression.

  9. Yeah, that was the King of the Jews telling Jews how it was at that particular point in time living under the Pentateuch, Rizwan.
There wasn’t an Grace by the blood of the Lamb, as Christians have NOW, because the Lamb had not then at that point in time had his blood shed yet.(Jesus was literally still alive telling the Jews they would be judged as they judged)
    That was then.
Here is how it is NOW.
    I Corinthians Chapter 6
1 Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?
2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

Why don’t you, Rizwan, run on a political platform of creating a legislative framework concerning abortion? Good luck with that, and don’t be surprized if you get slaughtered at the polls.

That would be an effective way to address the problem, and women’s groups should be united in pestering the government to take that sort of action.

  11. The Guardian article does not contain the words mooselimb, immigrant or even Asian.
Leftists do not care about this. They pretend to, but really they don’t care a damn about a bunch of brown women. The soft racism of low expectations. The most the Left will do is tut-tut about it, write the odd letter to the Guardian, and blame the Tories.
This is also an epidemic in Canada. Nobody cares. Except Conservatives. Those racists!

  12. More from The Guardian, which I usually avoid like the plague… It seems to me that if they’re promising “more delicious rice” it may be just the thing:
“Hdjella insisted that the form of FGM they practised is “helpful to girls’ health”. She explained that they clean the genitals and then use sterilised scissors to cut off part of the hood, or prepuce, and the tip of the clitoris.
“How is this helpful to girls’ health?” I asked. “It balances their emotions so they don’t get sexually over-stimulated,” she said, enunciating in schoolmistress fashion. “It also helps them to urinate more easily and reduces the bad smell.”
Any other benefits? “Oh yes,” she said, with a tinkling laugh. “My grandmother always said that circumcised women cook more delicious rice.”

  13. Leftists do not care about this.”
For the simple reason that multiculturalism trumps everything else.

  14. The last people on earth who give a damn besides other Muslims are feminists.

  15. I don’t doubt it occurs in Canada, however what facts do you have to support your belief it’s an ‘epidemic’. To be an epidemic it would have to be rapidly developing with widespread occurrence.
In Canada FGM is considered child assault and prohibited under sections 267 (assault causing bodily harm) or 268 (aggravated assault, including wounding, maiming, disfiguring) of the Criminal Code. Any FGM committed in Canada should be tried and punished to the full extent of the law.

  16. I’m not totally sure, but I think when my wife read Ayaan Hirsi Ali’s book “Nomad” she told me that Ayaan’s grandmother did the FGM on her when her parents were away. Her parents did not want the job done.
