These Liberal voters are only interested in continuing and growing their personal wage package and as less and less private industries remain their power will only grow.
PC supporters believed fiscal responsibility would carry the day and were stunned to see what happened. Logically voters would have supported this but in reality they just didn’t care. Working as a poll captain for the PCs in an upscale Toronto neighbourhood the support for Wynne was solid.

I left Ontario 35 years ago and moved to BC. When I left Ontario, there was still significant manufacturing taking place. Now it seems that people are under the delusion that they can sell services to one another and that is the basis for a sound economy!
Based on what’s happening around the world today, I suspect that people in N. America are going to be subjected to a crash course in reality therapy within a year. Thus, the most prudent aspect for those who don’t want to be part of the collateral damage from the collapse of the worlds financial house of cards should move out of large cities and into smaller towns or the country (if you can afford it).
When it comes to economics, most people are simply too innumerate to comprehend the basics. I’ve even had arguments with doctors who are opposed to development of new mines locally and their argument is that the economy should grow by spending more government money locally to hire physical therapists and homecare nurses. Trying to explain to them that only mines and other true wealth generating industries would pay for these positions is about as useful as trying to teach my cat the theory of differential equations. We’re dealing with a huge population of individuals whose wetware is not designed to handle objective reality and the primary goal of the education system is to produce a population of individuals with no critical thinking skills so they will do whatever their masters tell them to do.
Having been in downtown Toronto a few times, I’d really hate to be there when the SHTF. Downtown Vancouver would be the same and hence I moved to the interior of BC. Rural Ontario is very nice and land is considerably cheaper there than it is in BC. If I lived in Toronto now, I’d be packing up to move to a rural location. I’m lucky in being able to go pretty much wherever I want and, the nice thing about being a doctor is that the more remote the area, the more likely one can do well there as newly trained doctors are afraid to get out somewhere that requires them to actually work alone without immediate backup. The other nice thing about rural areas is that the people there are far more self-reliant and have useful skills that will be very valuable when the current excessively fragile economic system implodes. I just view the election result as another example of increasing proportion of parasites in the country implementing their delusions through the choice of governments that assure them that physical laws are easily dispensed with laws they plan to write if elected.

But I’m not convinced that a perfect salesman could have delivered a pitch that would have swayed Ontario voters. I think the results show two things: too many voters are takers rather than contributors, and, ethical behavior and concern for the future just don’t matter to people anymore.
Either way, it’s one hell of an indictment on Ontario’s urban areas…and of course, here in North Glengarry-Prescott-Russell – where the timely arrival of government largesse to local millionaires a few weeks prior to the election was all it took to lock down the vote.

Yes the growth of power of the public sector goons scares me, scares me much more than economic decline, but I keep reminding myself that the growth in power is accompanied by more than proportional growth of incompetence and laziness. I left Ontario 35 years ago and moved to BC. When I left Ontario, there was still significant manufacturing taking place. Now it seems that people are under the delusion that they can sell services to one another and that is the basis for a sound economy!
Based on what’s happening around the world today, I suspect that people in N. America are going to be subjected to a crash course in reality therapy within a year. Thus, the most prudent aspect for those who don’t want to be part of the collateral damage from the collapse of the worlds financial house of cards should move out of large cities and into smaller towns or the country (if you can afford it).
When it comes to economics, most people are simply too innumerate to comprehend the basics. I’ve even had arguments with doctors who are opposed to development of new mines locally and their argument is that the economy should grow by spending more government money locally to hire physical therapists and homecare nurses. Trying to explain to them that only mines and other true wealth generating industries would pay for these positions is about as useful as trying to teach my cat the theory of differential equations. We’re dealing with a huge population of individuals whose wetware is not designed to handle objective reality and the primary goal of the education system is to produce a population of individuals with no critical thinking skills so they will do whatever their masters tell them to do.
Having been in downtown Toronto a few times, I’d really hate to be there when the SHTF. Downtown Vancouver would be the same and hence I moved to the interior of BC. Rural Ontario is very nice and land is considerably cheaper there than it is in BC. If I lived in Toronto now, I’d be packing up to move to a rural location. I’m lucky in being able to go pretty much wherever I want and, the nice thing about being a doctor is that the more remote the area, the more likely one can do well there as newly trained doctors are afraid to get out somewhere that requires them to actually work alone without immediate backup. The other nice thing about rural areas is that the people there are far more self-reliant and have useful skills that will be very valuable when the current excessively fragile economic system implodes. I just view the election result as another example of increasing proportion of parasites in the country implementing their delusions through the choice of governments that assure them that physical laws are easily dispensed with laws they plan to write if elected.

Next up, a Justin Trudeau-led Liberal majority federally. I hate these thieving bastards with a vengeance but I can reach no other conclusion based on Ontario’s election.
Curiously enough the percentage of votes seem to indicate the voters of Ontario are not wholly beholden to the Liberals.
Liberals 38.7% of the total vote. Conservatives 31.2% of the vote.
New Democratic Party 23.7% of the vote.
Green Party 4.8% of the vote.
I do not criticise the system, which has been assailed by those who want proportional representation. I merely point out that sixty out of every hundred of yer fellow citizens did not vote for the Libs.

The parasites you speak of are in almost all aspects of life. They exist on both sides of the political equation. As a conservative I feel we have failed to communicate and even live by the philosophy. Being conservative by recognizing real value through the market place instead of by subjective group think is all but disappearing. Youth are educated by the left or progressives however you wish to describe that.
Is what we are experiencing any different than the 1920’s? Excesses will exist until the credit collapse. I was watching video of the Weimar Republic. Middle class Germans lost all their investments and their pensions were wiped out by inflation. They flocked to Hitler’s promises as they saw no future.
