root on mysql is unpassworded by default at installation time, on every installation on every system I’ve installed it on (windows, linux, osx).

You go online (unless you are a fully cloaked anonymous hacker) you realize NOTHING is private, and there is NO guarantee of security. You must accept that both your cell phone and computer are nothing less than surveillance tools used to stalk you by any number of unscrupulous entities including big brother – act accordingly, take precautions and never use a credit card on line or do business online – you know the risks – for the zombies who think all is well in cyberland, meh, ya get what’s coming to you.
Cash and face to face commerce leaves no cyber trail, this is why big bro wants to eliminate it.
